"When will these demons learn?" asks Jerico as she cuts through demons like knife to paper with nothing but her hand, "They arent even a good warm-up, how are the humans having such a hard time with them? That's it! I'm going to start training some of these humans and whip them in shape!" she exclaims with a big smile as she slams the head of another demon into the ground, breaking it's skull. Nearby humans shudder as they hear her laugh about training and dread the upcoming days.
"Sometimes I can't tell which is the demon and which is the angel" laughs Jakan as he approaches the other humans. "She is a scary one, that angel." as he watches her take down another dozen demons like it was just another thing to do. Jakan thought back to how hard it was for him to fight more than 3 demons at a time while here she was never seeming to be overwhelmed or fatigued, the way she fought was beautiful yet wrathful.
"Sir!" exclaim the other soldiers as he was finishing his thoughts.
"At ease! Don't call me sir, we are at war! Letting the enemy know I am of higher rank would make me a prime target. Do all of you understand?" he sternly states as he looks at the men.
"Yes s...I mean yes!" the men shouted. Jakan sighs and looks back at Jerico as shes laughing maniacally as demons start to retreat.
Seems we have managed to survive yet another attack thanks to her, he thought.
"Hey Jerico!" Jakan yells as she turns to walk towards the castle walls. She turns and looks and sees the Captain of the Kings Army, a friend of hers, that helped her get accustomed to human life and their culture.
"Hello Jakan, I see you have lived to see another day my friend." states Jerico with a sly smile. "I thought you would have croaked by now since you havent been coming to my training sessions anymore."
Jakan shudders at the mention of her training sessions and laughs nervously.
"Ha ha, y...you know my duties as captain keep me busy..." Jakan utters nervously.
"No excuses" says Jerico as she grabs him by the ear and starts pulling him towards the castle gate. Once inside the gate Jakan tells a runner to go alert the gate to ring the safety bell so the citizens knew to continue their daily lives and come out of their shelters.
"Well, I'm off for now, but I will be back to whip all of you into shape." she states with a smile as the humans all flinch collectively. In a blinding flash of light, her wings spread. Beautiful white wings that seemed to glow with warmth and shine with brilliance. Something no gem could ever compare to. As she jumps in the air and starts to fly, she goes to check on the surrounding villages outside of Thadora kingdom to make sure they made it through the attacks. Out of the 6 villages she checked, only 3 remained.
"Dammit, more lives lost." cursed Jericho, "I can't be everywhere at once, this is why these humans need to learn to fight." Jakan went down to the villages that were destroyed and at each village, she buried the dead, prayed for them, and looked for survivors.
"These accursed demons are ruthless, mindless beings." she stated as she looked around and saw dismembered bodies of all ages. She walks over to a small destroyed hut at the edge of the last village and sees a small toy bear with blood stains on it. She picked up the toy and her mind filled with regret and sorrow for the lost. She walks over to the small brook that was running nearby to wash the toy and bury it with the bodies in the village. As she leans over to wash the bear, she notices a presence watching her and quickly turns to confront a potential threat. It was a demon. This demon was different than the others. It was much bigger and appeared much stronger than the rest. She takes a battle stance as the demon laughs and begins to talk.
"So this is an angel?" it says in a very gruff voice. Its very voice reminded Jerico of screaming souls.
"Oh, so the brutes can talk after all eh?" says Jerico in a very mocking tone. Before the demon could retort, she pushes with all her might forward, cracking the ground beneath her and breaking the sound barrier in the small 150 feet between her and the demon. As she approaches the demon, she grabs him by the head and slams him into the ground, breaking the ground from the force of her blow. The demon kicks upward and knocks Jerico off of him. He stands up, visibly angered, and bleeding. The blood from his wounds hit the ground, making a sizzling noise when they do.
"I will grind your bones to dust and use it to flavor my next meal" sneers the demon. "It will go good with the next child I eat"
As soon as she heard him say that she let's out a yell so loud that all the birds and surrounding life in the forest run away, except the demon who laughed as he put his hands over his ears.
"You will pay for slaughtering these people!" yells Jerico as she widens her stance and puts her hands to her right side, as if to unsheath an invisible weapon. Storm clouds form over Jerico and lightning shoots down, forming a spear.
"Spear of Judgement" she says in a low menacing voice, the lightning spear seemed to crackle in response to her anger. The demons eyes widen but before it could react, she disappeared and reappeared behind the demon.
"Die for your sins, demon." as she impaled the demon exposing its heart outside its chest. Then with her other hand, slams the demon face first into the ground destroying the ground and trees within a 50 foot radius, killing the demon. As she powers down, she kneels and briefly cries over the lost children, lives snuffed out before they could even be lived. She then looks around at the aftermath of her battle, and imbues her energy in the ground, repairing the fallen and broken trees and broken ground. As she finishes, she notices that it is becoming late and starts flying back to the kingdom with newfound sadness over the villages.
