Chereads / Chaos Blade / Chapter 4 - Restlessness

Chapter 4 - Restlessness

I killed someone. I didn't want to do it but it just happened.

Her memories of Charlotte's blood curdling screams of agony echoed in her dreams.

Even though Mio did not hear her voice she could feel it in her voice. Her eyes were the reflection of her soul. She could tell that even in the face of death she was not the monster but the prey being hunted. It seems ironic that after massacring several people that she did not feel any remorse but she did. The blade did not cut through just her head but her soul.

She wondered what happened to all the people of the university that attended the gathering. She could not fathom the sorrow that many people had to deal with the losses of their loved ones and family members. She thought it was for the better for her not too stress about that.

Mio could not deal with this power bestowed in her body. She could feel this dark presence that could take over her, at any moment. She could not sleep for a few days with the marks visible on her body she could not think about anything but this relic that cursed her soul.

Her dreams consisted of nothing but visions. Dreams of the past or maybe the distant future, or even memories of another person. After every dream she could not comprehend the visions or interpret its meaning all she could do was wake up only to never fall back to sleep again.

"This is has to stop. I need to find out how to get rid of these marks and this stupid sword."

She went to the bathroom and stripped down. She saw her reflection in the mirror. She saw a demon figure with the black marks that almost seem like those weird tattoos that white people seem to get to look original. In the mirror she could see that there were symbols on her forearm. She could not tell what the symbols meant, but they were in a specific order.

"I should go check this out. Maybe the doctor might know what to do about this."

Inside the doctors office Mio showed her marks to the doctor. The doctor was looking at her doctor's files when she showed him.

"Ummm... nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. It seems that you are a little fatigued but either than that you seem fine."

Mio showed the doctor the markings.

"Uhhh... Nice tattoos."

"Doc. I think there is something wrong look closely."

"I'm not sure what I'm supposed to look at. But it looks great from what I can tell you. It nice and swag."

He made a finger pointing gesture at Mio. He was expecting a reaction. Mio just stared blankly at the doctor and got up and left.

"Why does my wife not love me?"

Back in Mio's apartment she was looking at various websites on her computer.

"There must be some way to get rid of these marks."

She thought about asking the religious artifacts group at her university but, then she remembered that she killed their leader.

"I can probably ask some professors in the history department about it. Probably not show them though."

Before she left to go to the university she took various pictures of the markings and drew it on paper.

At the university she asked one of the professors. It was an elderly woman around sixty years old. It was Professor Archette. She was an acclaimed book author turned university professor. She spent most of her time writing and translating various documents on historical artifacts and religious paintings and relics. She is extremely knowledgeable on the religious and spiritual. It was Mio's only hope of getting rid of this curse.

Mio had to email her several times to book an appointment just to see her. She is extremely busy with a lot of document writing and analysis.

What Mio didn't know about is that Professor Archette is the supervisor of the religious artifact club. She was probably busy grieving over the massacre that Charlotte put on after that. But interesting enough she hasn't even heard of anybody recognizing the fact that people that were missing.

She was at the front door of her office. She knocked subtly to not make any noise that would be too obnoxious.

The professor opened the door.

"What can I do for you Ms...?"

"Mio. Just Mio."

"Mio. Ohhh, your the one that keeps emailing me about something important you wanted to talk about."

"Yes."

"Come right in."

She opened the door and Mio went inside.

"Do you know anything about the cursed blade?"

"I do. I don't want to do anything with that sword. It only brings trouble to those that wield it and those that are surrounded by this dark energy."

"Before you shut me down can you just look at something I got to show you."

She showed the rough sketches of the marks on her body.

Her eyes lit up. Mio wasn't sure if she has triggered her or heart just stopped working.

"These are the blade's curse marks. The body has already been made apart of the demon that lies within the blade."

She pointed at the 7 symbols that are found on her arms.

"Child, these are the seals of the chaos blade. Each representing the fragment of the blade's lost energy."

Mio was confused.

"What does that mean?"

"Each of these seals represent the seven deadly sins. They define the impurities of the human soul."

Mio looked lost, as she should be.

"From what I see. The marks of the blade has been intertwined with someone's fate. It seems like everybody close to the wielder will be lost."

"I do you get rid of the curse of this binding blade? I'm asking for a friend."

"Well, tell your friend. That she must have to look elsewhere cause this old lady ain't got a damn clue."

There was silence in the room for a few moments. Mio could see the professor look at her overall appearance.

Mio had bags under her eyes. The professor could see that clearly.

"It seems like your not getting enough sleep. Something must be bothering you."

"Its nothing. I just really wanted to know what that mark was. I seem to found my answer. Thanks for the help."

"No problem. Just tell your friend to cover up the marks on her arm. It seems like someone will see it and it will attract the wrong attention."

Mio noticed that her arm sleeve was rolled up and the mark of the blade was visible to the professor. She quickly rolled it back up and headed for the door.

"I did not expect dreams to be a reality or in this case a nightmare to be a reality."

Mio ran off.

"Her fate will be entwined with some fearsome people. I will probably be seeing her again."

Another woman got up from her desk. She had a very sensual vibe to her. It was as if every action was sexy.

"Right...Alucard?"

She looked straight at her. Her eyes piercing the heavens or peering into the depths of hell.

"Of course."
