While Mac was trying to learn about love, Alpha on the other hand still had his concerns about The Order and wondered what have they been up to, seeing as they haven't made a move since Alpha's awakening.
Of course, unknown to either Alpha or Mac, The Order has been out and about trying to find out more about the events that took place that night, when Alpha was awakened but unfortunately luck wasn't on their side as every lead they came up with was just one dead end after another.
Alpha decided that it was time for another mental journal entry while he waited on Mac to finish his business with his parents, although Alpha could probably learn a thing or two as well.
"It has been nearly 2 months since my awakening and yet The Order has not found either myself or Chandler, which leads me to believe that they never knew of my existence or they don't know that I'm inside a human body.", said Alpha as he tried to think of ways to know why The Order is falling behind.
"So let's go through everything between these two possibilities, first being that The Order doesn't know that I exist.", said Alpha, then he began to list many possible options with only focusing on some key points that would make the most sense.
"If they never knew that I existed, then I would say that my creator did really well in hiding me until the time was right or The Order just thinks that I'm a power source with no means of having a conscious.", said Alpha as he was satisfied with these 2 explanations.
"Now for the other possibility, they never knew that I was already placed inside of a human body.", said Alpha, again coming up with many options but only to make use of the ones that were ideal.
"I remember when Luis first told Crispin & Samantha that I had to be placed inside of Chandler soon after he was born, which would make sense that The Order would not have that knowledge about me, but then again I'd have to say that they were never really informed about me at all.", said Alpha as he finally pieced together the reason that The Order hadn't found him yet.
"So all in all, it must be the fact that The Order never did their research about what I am or how I work, which means that they're out there running blindly looking for something that doesn't exist.", said Alpha which actually ended up calming his nerves, now he knows that the only way either he or Mac will be in danger is when Mac reveals himself to them….either intentionally or otherwise.
Still, Alpha needed to be cautious of everyone and everything that goes on from day to day because he'll never know when someone from The Order will show up and cause trouble for Mac, but with that being said Alpha now returns to focusing on what is happening with Mac and his parents.
"Ok, time to learn about what love is.", said Alpha very comically as if none of this was serious for Mac.
Mac had finally gotten over his embarrassment and finally asked the question that he was afraid of asking his own mother, the question about love….but the reaction he got from her was one he didn't expect.
"Uh, mom….are you okay?", asked Mac as he looked confused as to how his mother was reacting to his question, which was not reacting at all and only to stand there frozen in time.
"Dad? What's going on with mom?", asked Mac, Crispin on the other hand wasn't surprised to see his own wife react this way since he was all too familiar with it as well.
"Ah damn it all, I had a feeling this might happen….", Crispin began to say so he grabbed his wife by the shoulders and managed to move her over to a chair and had her sit down, all while still motionless from the reaction of Mac's question.
"….she has only done this a few other times, last time was when I confessed my love to her and asked her to marry me.", said Crispin, which Mac never knew this about his mother but then again, it's probably not something she'd share with her son.
"Chandler, please go get me a glass of water and wet towel, this might take some time to get her out of this state.", said Crispin, then Mac went to the kitchen and got what his father had asked for and quickly returned to his father's office.
All the while this was happening, Alpha had been watching and became concerned for Samantha so he tried to lend a helping hand if he could.
"Is mom going to be alright?", asked Mac as he was concerned about his mother in seeing her in this state.
"Don't worry Chandler, it's nothing serious….she's just shocked from the question you asked her, nothing more.", said Crispin just so he can assure Mac that nothing was wrong with Samantha.
After hearing Crispin explain to Mac what was going on with Samantha, he became relieved that she was going to be okay and that it was nothing serious to be concerned about, so Alpha just stayed back and continued to watch.
A few minutes later, Samantha snapped out of her shocked state and began to move, but Crispin was there to slow her down so that she wouldn't overdo it.
"Samantha dear, how are you feeling?", asked Crispin as he handed the glass of water to her, she took a drink then gave a heavy sigh.
"I'm fine, its been awhile since that has happened to me.", said Samantha as she nervously chuckled, knowing all too well the last time it happened.
"Are you okay mom? I guess my question kind of spooked you, so I'm sorry.", said Mac, but Samantha was not mad at him at all, just unprepared for the fact that one day she knew her son would eventually fall in love with someone, but this soon….
"No honey, you don't need to be sorry for anything….its just that I wasn't prepared to have this conversation so soon.", said Samantha only to reassure that Mac had no fault in what happened.
"Listen Chandler, I know that your father and I joke around about you getting a girlfriend, but for it to actually happen….I mean, it just caught me by surprise.", said Samantha.
"Chandler, you have to understand that when you fall in love with someone, then you have to dedicate all of your time and effort to that someone if you want to make it work.", said Crispin, then Mac gave him an annoyed look.
"I thought you said women are better at understanding love? Why are you giving me any advice after betraying me in the first place?", asked Mac as he was comically angry at his father.
"Crispin….what is our son talking about?", asked Samantha as she too was comically wondering the same thing.
"Yeah dad, why don't you tell mom how I came to you first about this but then you said that mom would understand this better than you.", said Mac sarcastically, then Crispin kept looking back and forth between Mac and Samantha knowing that he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Crispin then gave a heavy sigh….
"Look Chandler, I wanted to bring your mother into this because this is something that we should discuss as a family.", said Crispin as he became serious about the matter at hand.
"You're 17 years old and by the time you graduate, you'll already be well into your 18th year, so your mother and I had hoped you'd be in some sort of relationship by then.", said Crispin explaining to Mac what they wanted for him.
"We're both glad to help you understand love, but you have to understand that love is a tricky thing and you can't just be saying, "I love you" to the first girl you meet.", explained Samantha, which Mac understood what she was saying.
"That's the thing, I'm not trying to get into a relationship now but maybe during my senior year, although as for the girl….that might be a bit complicated.", said Mac, which slightly worried both of his parents as they wondered who this girl could be.
"We get it, you want to avoid the unwanted attention, but who is it that you think you're in love with Chandler?", asked Samantha.
"First off, we just like each other but I do have a slight attraction to her ever since I first saw her in 9th grade. Second, she understands how I feel about not wanting the attention, so she has agreed to wait until I'm ready.", said Mac but the anticipation of learning who this girl is that Mac liked was just driving his parents mad.
"WHO IS IT?!?!", yelled both Samantha and Crispin very loud and very comically.
"Alright already, just calm down will ya….her name is Stephanie Connors and she's both the student council president and most popular female at my school.", said Mac, then nothing but silence for the next few moments which concerned Mac although very slightly.
Crispin and Samantha paced around the office for a few moments while Mac just sat in the chair watching them, waiting patiently for one of them to finally say something about Stephanie.
"So, she's both popular and runs the student council….I can see why you don't want the attention.", said Crispin as he finally broke the silence that had filled the office.
"Is she pretty?", asked Samantha.
"Well yes, but that's just putting it nicely.", said Mac as he didn't want to say something in front of his parents that would make him sound disrespectful because she was hot, but they got the picture.
"And the two of you have already talked about your feelings for each other?", asked Samantha as she tried to understand the position that Mac is in.
"Yes we have and she understands how I feel, which is why we agreed to take things slowly until I'm ready to make it official.", said Mac, which made both of his parents really happy.
"Well then, I believe we should save this conversation for a later time, like after you make it official with Stephanie.", said Crispin, but Mac wasn't amused by that statement….
"What do you mean? I still want to know what it feels to be in love?", questioned Mac but both of his parents agreed that it's best for him to learn on his own just like they did.
"Chandler, like I said earlier, love is tricky but no one can truly understand how to feel it….you just do, like your father and I.", explained Samantha but Mac was still not satisfied although he tried his best to understand what his parents explained to him.
"Son, the best way to feel love for someone, is to just find out on your own and if Stephanie is the one girl that you truly love, then you'll know when the time is right.", said Crispin.
After it was all said and done, Mac was still confused but left his father's office that night with a clear conscious knowing that love is something only he can learn on his own, but still….at 17, should he be falling in love, especially with the burden of the world on his shoulders.
Mac decided to just head back to his apartment knowing too well that he wasn't in his right mind to go back to the Halloween dance, so he just texted JR and Lucky to give them a heads up.
As Mac continues to contemplate about the essences of love, Alpha on the other hand seems to be contemplating about other things….likely the future for both himself and Mac, but also not forgetting The Order as well.
"Hmm….what does the future hold for Chandler?", asked Alpha.
"So far he has gained some new abilities on his own, but let's not forget the abilities that he got after I woke up.", said Alpha as he reminded himself of where Mac currently stands, should he encounter another creature of The Darkness or worse, a member of The Order.
"Then again, he might not be able to unlock his full potential until he learns the truth from his parents, but I believe that he should be ready to start manifesting weapons to defend himself.", said Alpha, but what could this, "truth" be that he speaks of.
With all the training that Mac has done over the last couple of months after Alpha had woken up, Mac has increased his stamina, strength, intelligence, dexterity and speed. Then he's got the ability to heal quicker and hear from longer distances, but Alpha knows that there's more to that….he just doesn't know how to unlock them.
But even with all that Mac has learned, Alpha believes that he should now be able to manifest different weapons for a better defense, should his hand to hand combat not be enough….only time will tell, but is Luis willing to train him so soon?
Another thing that seems to bother Alpha is how much longer does Mac have until The Order finds the both of them, even with the knowledge that they don't even know about Alpha at all….days, weeks, months or years, how desperate will they become?
But with where everything stands, there is only one true question that needs to be asked….
"Is Mac ready to face his destiny?!?!"
