Twice had he felt the same way when Luna was with him but she felt far away from him. Varell just smiled, he couldn't express what he was feeling right now, maybe Luna wouldn't realize the meaning behind his smile now.
He interpreted the little attention that Luna gave him so highly that when he realized that Luna didn't want him, his heart was hurt more deeply.
