Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Quentin flipping through his book nervous for the class he apparently needed now.

"Is transfiguration even really I thought that was just something out of fucking Harry Potter."

Quentin ran his fingers through his hair as watching their new teacher walk up to then with a wicked and sly smile on her face.

"J.K. Rowling is a magician I would've thought that was obvious."

She comments while folding up her parasol and looking around to make sure her new students were all here.

"Welcome to Transfiguration class. We will start with something small that won't kill you or disfigure you. I brought you each a mouse. Turn that mouse into chalice then back into its original form."

She opens her beat up black leather bag pulling out a cage filled with mice handing one to each person.

" Now this obviously isn't Hogwarts so theres no wands or easy flick of the wrist, nor is any Transfiguration completely swift or completely painless. Now the smaller the living thing you're transfiguring the less painful and less time it takes to transform. Let's begin."

Dahlia places her mouse in her lap after sitting down and starts waving her hands and figures around in a complicated series of movements. As soon as those movements are finished the class hear tiny cracks and small whines until the noises stop and there was a beautiful silver chalice sitting her lap.

"Why would we change an animal or ourselves into something if it's painful. That mouse was in pain when that happned."

Dahlia sighs shaking her head in annoyance "This is the real world Alice there may come a time where you need something for a spell or you need to change something or someone or even yourself into another thing to save your life or even the lives of your friends. The mouse is fine she endured the pain she will live through it and forget it ever happened. Now if you fuck up the spell it can kill it or disfigure it which is why you all need to get it right and get it right the first time! This isn't an easy class it will test you in ways you never thought it could. It will push you to be better and it makes you face the fear you have inside you. Now I will give you 10 minutes to practice the hand movement needed for this but this will be the only time I give extra time am I understood?"

Quentin and his friends shake their heads before Penny gets up to walk over to Dahlia.

"Yo who made you a teacher here anyway you're what like 22 you should be a student here not teaching us classes and giving us lectures."

Dahlia whipping around smirking at Penny grabs his face in her hand "Penny you're cute. In fact i wouldn't mind sitting on your face for hours, but that's not the point. The point is Dean Fogg brought me here for you guys to be taught something no one is willing to teach. I have experience in this among many other things you'll soon find out don't let what my age seems to be fool you." She lightly kisses Penny on the lips before whispering to him her mouth still dangerously close to his

" Now get back to class."

Penny slowly walks back sitting down next to Kady.

"The chick is a psychopath."

Kady shakes her head turning around to look at him

"You seemed to enjoy it though."

Penny shrugs trying to practice his movements.

"She said Dean Fogg brought her here to teach us shit the teachers here aren't willing to teach."

Alice spins around

"Maybe shes going to teach us dangerous and dark magic. I mean Transfiguration can be dangerous when it comes to living things mostly humans and animals. It would make sense the teachers here wouldn't want us to know that stuff."

Quentin runs his hand over his face trying to figure out what the Dean is up too.

"Okay now class. It's time to begin. Place your mice in your lap and I'll ask each of you to do the spell. Alice you maybe begin."

Dahlia sat waiting for each student to transform their mouse and surprisingly each one did it without a hiccup or something going wrong. She hated to admit it even just to herself she was slightly impressed by this bunch shes picked out. Maybe that's why she was drawn to them because they were special. Coming out of her own thoughts she shakes her head and looks around.

"Well done everyone. Now take your mice home practice this spell and tomorrow we will start something else."

Quentin gathers his books and looks at Dahalia to him he knew the look she had as him and his friends walked away.

She was utterly lonely...
