Chapter 1 - Witches

Witches are humans born with an innate ability to use and harness the forces of magic for almost any purpose. Most witches are inherently good, though some have managed to turn dark. The powers they possess vary from witch to witch as well as the family that particular witch was born into. Many witches have the standard powers of spellcasting, scrying, the ability to create potions, the gift of mediumship and sensing/channeling energy. Most magical witches also possess an individual power- meaning this is a particular ability or magical skill belonging to one witch, most only possessing one active power. It is believed that some witches of today are the earth-born descendants of an ancient race of near-immortal mages known as the Immortium. The Immortium hail from a magic-filled dimension adjacent to Earth known as Ietheria. According to ancient texts the Immortium have been equated to angels from Christian mythology, being both fierce and benevolent in power and personality. Like angels, Immortium mages have a dark counterpart - a race of twisted, vile dark mages known as the Lapsus Tenebrarum or "Those who have fallen into darkness " . It has been stated that the Lapsus Tenebrarum or " The Fallen" as they've been called in modern text, followed the ways if their angelic counterparts and mated with early humans, eventually giving rise to warlocks. Warlocks are simply dark witches who have but one goal : to find good witches and kill them in order to obtain their powers . Witches and warlocks have been battling it out for centuries, though many have forgotten why. A few witch families have been able to trace their magical ancestry all the way back to Ietheria and the Immortium, largely having to deal with the fact that said families have possessed magic since the early days of modern humanity. Many Immortium have been said to be incredibly long lived, they're immortal by human standards because of the fact that no earthen/ mortal weapon can actually kill an Ietherian, only slow them down or slightly weaken them. The only way to gravely injure or kill an Ietherian is to extract their magical energy which is intrinsically tied to their life force by stabbing them with an enchanted blade from their home world known as the Maker's Wrath. Just like earth does today, Ietheria has a largely monotheistic belief system - having a belief in a singular deity- a deity named Azmuth. They also have their fair share of myths and legends. One legend in particular is "In Fabula et Angeli et Contritio" or "The Story of The Seven Angels of Destruction". It is the dark tale of a group of seven of the finest Immortium soldiers Ietheria had to offer, be turned into the most deadly band of supernatural chaos-bringers ever to be created. Each "Angel" has a distinct identity within the group that makes them feared both on Earth and Ietheria, and over the subsequent centuries they were on Earth, they all started taking on regal titles given to them by either their worshipers or their victims. The leader of The Angels was named Azriel " The King of Destruction and Chaos", his second in command was the enigmatic Caetus "The Lord of War", then there was the beautiful and deadly Serena "The Goddess of Seduction", next was Caetus's rather crazed twin sister Elindria "The Queen of Storms", she also serves as a rival to Serena for Caetus's company. Then there was Ekil "The Master of Illusions", Evangeline "The Spirt of Fury", and Mericous "The Prince of Shadows". According to the story it seems the Angels were either killed somehow or maybe they (as some believe.) are in fact alive and are in hiding.....
