"Good Morning." He greeted.
Irina just stood quietly looking at the man and took out the book from her bag. "Here. Return it." She pushed the book forward.
Blinking his eyes for few times, he grinned awkwardly scratching his head. "okay. Do you want to borrow another book?" He questioned her trying to make a conversation.
"No." Came her answer.
He took the book, read the tittle. "Oh, the mirror man. I've read this book too. I think the story is interesting, I like the speaking rabbit and the prince." He said and smiled, but he received a blank look from her. He then grinned awkwardly again. He didn't know what to say or do anymore.
They hold each other gaze. The one gazed awkwardly and the other one gazed coldly.
"Who are you?" Irina noticed his puzzled look.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Where're my manner. My name is Lucas." He said.
"I didn't ask what your name is." Said Irina curtly.
Lucas started a little irritated. "What is it then?" Asked Lucas inwardly.
"You thief!" Narrowing her eyes, she gave him her accusing gaze.
"Eh?" Lucas shocked. He saw the girl turn around and leave.
The other girls felt mad for him. They yelled at her, some were telling her that she was so rude, some were asking why she accusing Lucas being thief, some were telling her that she was out of her mind, some were agreeing to what others said.
The quiet library become boisterous as Irina dropped her accusation and left. Lucas told them to calm down and he said "Or I had to asked all of you to leave." The room fell silent immediately.
One of the girls stepped forward to Lucas's table with a book in her hand. Lucas recognized her. Her expression showed concern to Lucas.
"May I help you, Lilian?" Lucas said with lazy smile in his face, made Lilian's heart skips a beat.
"I want to borrow this book." She said, then she added "Are you okay?" She was talking about the previous incident.
He took the book and made a note to complete the process. "I'm fine." He answered calmly.
"She is always that rude, you know." She started.
"You know her?" Said Lucas raising his brows. Interesting girl thought Lucas to himself, calling him thief out of the sudden was something, now she was famous by being rude. What an interestingly odd girl.
"Oh, yes. We all know her. We attended the same class." Though she didn't want to talk about Irina, she did it anyway since Lucas wanted to. "Oh, her name is Irina, by the way." She volunteered the information, which earned a nod from Lucas.
"So, the odd glasses girl is Irina." Whispered Lucas to himself. He offered his half smile to the girl in front of him, "Here you go." He pushed the book toward her. "I hope you enjoy the book." Said Lucas still smiling, he put a mesmeric spell in his smile.
Lilian's stare transfixed at Lucas's face. She stared blankly and then turn around leaving Lucas whose face turned sour at the same time.
He looked at the tables which occupied by the pretended reading girls. These girls were so troublesome, weren't they have anything else better to do than sitting there and ignored by him.
Lucas shook his head, paying no more attention. He had his down again, concentrating at the parchment under his table. Casting silently many different spells. And still no reaction. He rested his back in the chair and put the parchment on the table. He thought about home.
