The day had never felt longer.
Ever since the ritual began it felt as if time had stretched out forever. In reality, seven days had gone by. The unbearable heat did not help make it any easier for those who were guarding.
Lycster sat down on one of the steps, sweat trickling down his face. He tried to wipe it away but it did not help much. He turned to look up at the main altar. He could see his sister, still in her black phoenix form with her eyes closed.
It was as if she was frozen in time.
Dygo walked down the steps and handed him a flask of water.
"Stay hydrated," he reminded Lycster, who received the flask with a word of thanks.
Dygo turned to look at Vy as well, before turning back to face Lycster as he took a seat down next to him.
"How long do you think this is going to take?" Lycster asked after he drank from the flask.
Aether overhead his question and came over.
