She tried again. Vyrena cleared her throat and knocked on the door; louder this time. But still there was no response from him.
"Sorren?" she called out to him.
Her voice cracked a little because of her parched throat. This time, he heard her. Sorren turned around to meet Vyrena in the eyes. She realised something was different about him.
"Vyrena?" Sorren called out.
Seeing her, he came to realise that he had caused it to happen all over the room. This startled him, as he tried to defend his actions. But his panic only made the mushrooms and fungi grow denser.
"It's alright Sorren. Relax. We know you don't mean us any harm. Take a deep breath," she consoled him as she made her way closer towards him.
Vy tried her best to avoid the mushrooms as she walked, but it was impossible. When she was finally by his side, she placed a hand on his shoulder with a warm smile on her face.
