Vyrena tried to stand back up, but it was nearly impossible. Her vision was blurry and spinning. To make matters worse, she started experiencing a terrible headache. Memories of the past began to flood back into her mind all at once.
It felt like tidal waves crashing onto the shorelines relentlessly. There was a lot to process and Vyrena did not know how much more she could handle. She knew with each second she spent agonizing in pain was a second wasted.
Time was of the essence right now. The force field was down and the tree was burning into a crisp. Would it be enough of a signal to the outside rescue team to notice?
When her vision began to restore a little, Vyrena looked back up again. She could see that the tree was still on fire. But while she was focused on that, Vyrena failed to notice the enemy who was fast approaching.
