Three weeks later
"Must you go ?" Jennifer asks with a vivid unwillingness.
I kiss her forehead softly. "Yes, I must, Baby," I then say. "I need to take care of some of my important stuffs that I left back in NY."
"Stuffs ?"
"You know.." I glance at Mrs. Barney that just entered our room to put Sophie inside her baby box. "Weapons.. fake documents.." I whisper to make sure only be heard by Jennifer. "They all need to be gotten rid of before my apartment is ready to be sold."
"Okay.." Jennifer says with a little pout.
I grin then kiss her lips quickly. "I'll be back before you know it."
"How long ?"
"Tomorrow morning at most," I answer her while putting my leather jacket on.
The front door of the house is opened from outside. Soon, Peter's head appears in front of our bed room door. "Hi, Jen.. Hey, Buddy," He greets us cheerfully. "I go washing up and change my clothes first, okay."
"Okay, Pete.." Jennifer replies him.
I approach Jennifer who is on the bed again. "Don't let him get on my bed side," I tell her as a joke.
"Hmm.. it depends.." Jennifer throws back a joke.
I squint. "Depends on what ?" I ask.
Jennifer straightens her back and snaking her arms around my neck. "How cold is the weather.. " she says with a grin.
"You're saying...?"
Jennifer kisses my lips. "The longer you were gone.. the colder the weather gets.."
I kiss her back. "This is why I am very reluctant to go.."
"That's good" Jennifer whispers then kisses me harder.
"Ahem.." An awkward cough forces us to separate our lips.
"You're taxi is here," Peter, one who coughed, informs me.
I kiss Jennifer for the last time. "I'll be back quick, okay"
Jennifer nods and releases her snaking arms.
I go out of the room with my backpack on my shoulder.
"This is the watch that detect her heart rate," I tell Peter while giving him the watch that I usually wear. I sigh before continue my words, "Thank you for your help."
Peter pats my shoulder. "Don't mention it, Buddy. she is my best friend anyway. It's my obligation to watch her."
I put my mask on before open the door and ride the taxi that is going to take me to the airport.
----------
It is around 9 PM now. I have been standing behind a big tree near a ten floor building for more then three hours.
Well, I lied to Jennifer. I didn't go to NY city to take care of my stuff. I do put my apartment on selling list. But I don't need to get rid my stuff from there. I didn't keep my stuff inside my apartment. All my stuff is in a secret place, not even in NY city.
Instead, here I am behind a student housing of P school of design. If you're asking me what am I doing there, well... I need to meet someone. Someone that I believe could help me. But I have a big doubt of her willingness to do it, though
A car... no... two cars stop at the front of the building. Two muscular and huge men are approaching the first car. But someone, from inside the car barks at them. the bark makes them keep a distance from the car. Another shout can be heard and the two men step back a little more and turn their body, facing their backs toward the car.
I smirk a little reacting to the bark and shout. She just never changes, I say to my self inwardly.
The car's window is up again. Fortunately my eyes are trained to see sharper in the dark, thus I can see clearly what happens behind the 70% dark filmed glass of the car's windows. Actually, nothing special about what she's doing. She is just kissing with someone who is on the driver seat.
A few minutes later, finally the car's passenger door is opened. A young female adult comes out of the car. She bends her body toward the car and talks to one on the driver seat through the opened door.
So, that's her boyfriend. To my surprise, that guy doesn't look as nerd as I imagine. He is quite good looking with his brown hair and well-define sculptured jaw. He wears a thin frame glasses that somehow enhances the beauty of his golden brown eyes. No wonder that girl's cold heart could be melted by him. I bet any girl could be melted only by the gaze of his eyes.
After another couple of minutes of sweet talk they have, the girl straightens her body and closes the door. She then waves her hand toward the car that is slowly moving away. When the car is finally out of her sight, she turns her body toward the housing building.
At that same second, I turn my speed into fighter jet mode then run fast toward the girl. I duck my upper body, scoop the girl on her waist, lift her up, and carry her on my shoulder like a sack. I did all of them while still running. I run fast. So fast that I can only hear her starts screaming in a super slow motion after more than 2 miles away.
