Chapter 95 - Ritual Complete

As they walked through the corridors, Roderick felt how the atmosphere changed as soon as they got inside the tower.

"It is just me or we have been walking a lot longer than we should?"

Facing Roderick's question, Céline also showed some concern. "I think so too, giving the measures from outside, we should have reached the end thirty minutes ago, yet, those corridors seem so long."

It was right, they have been on the first floor for nearly forty minutes, but there was no sign of any living being or even a passage leading to the higher floors.

Céline checked how many steps they have taken since entering the tower. "See, the corridor in which we are is a few kilometers longer than the tower itself, but no matter what we always return to where we started."

"Some sort of spatial distortion them? Or maybe something is messing with out cognition. Eh?" While thinking about the reason behind this phenomenon, his eyes widened and were fully lit up. Putting on the armor, Roderick spread its senses across the whole area before confirming what he thought.

Without saying anything he ran backwards, and Céline followed behind the reason for this action. Roderick speeds up towards the gate and kicked it open, but instead of the island of was a dark, creepy hall with a metal platform filled with strange patterns and circuits.

Only now did Céline realized what happened and eyes shone with understanding. "I see, the moment we entered the entire interior changed places, so even after exploring the whole floor, we would never suspect the passage to the higher floors was the same door used as the entrance all along."

Roderick smiled when hearing her explanation and nodded. "I see you understood, but we should not waste anymore time. Let's go to the higher floors."

Reaching the second floor, Roderick and Céline found themselves in the middle of nowhere, a blank space where only themselves existed.

In this vast emptiness, a door opened where numerous tall, mechanic droids poured out. With huge metal frames and glowing red eyes, the droids marched simultaneously toward both of them.

"Droids?!" Roderick and Céline exchanged glances. The two raise their hands and were about to attack when the whole tower trembled violently.

Eying the door from where the droids came from, Roderick left a few words before rushing forward. "Céline, take care of the droids for me! I'm going up."

One of the droids shot a red beam aimed at his left only to see it melting for a second before regaining its shape.

"Blood Leap!" His feet moved strangely before he disappeared out of thin air and appeared right at the door.

....

At the altar together with the other eleven, Artemis felt her life force slowly deplete as she fought against ten of the primal children all by herself while enduring, her eyes wandered across the altar holding the majestic and holy armor.

Sky stood in the middle with closed eyes as the armor gained more and more power while the others lose their vitality.

"Uncle Sky, everyone stops this! Can't you see this is madness!" Intertwining wind and shadow, numerous green-black hands scattered across the hall in an attempt to disrupt the ritual, but it didn't work.

A black light slowly appeared on the surface of the cold armor, a spark that grew before their eyes that blocked all the attacks.

"What is happening? Brother Roderick..." As she felt her life approaching the end, memories of a calm and collected youth appeared in her mind. He was both her hero and the brotherly figure that always stood by her side.

Despite having met a disaster that turns him into a cripple, his will and perseverance were what helped him resist what many couldn't. However, she knew he is not human, but an ancient deity named Thor.

After his disappearance, she searched throughout history books and other relics before realizing there were stories about Thor. While she didn't know if it is the same Thor, the powers the youth manifested were so similar that made her wonder.

Looking to the side, Artemis noticed that her aunts and uncles didn't seem to fear the phenomenon that happened to them and instead wore expectant faces. Facing this battle she couldn't win made her truly understand what despair meant before a loud noise came from bellow followed by cracking sounds.

A piece of the floor broker, and earth waved his hand, forcing the floor to repair itself, but not before a crimson blur suddenly crossed to their side.

This figure had a deep glistering pair of ruby-like pupils, long crimson hair reaching his shoulders tied into a ponytail, his skin was slightly red and coupled with his devilish smile filled with killing intent and sharp teeth he looked a devil straight from hell.

"Immortal Armor?!" THe first thing he saw was the immense platinum armor and his eyes narrowed.

Sky was the only one who didn't show any changes in expression, his face was as cold as ice as he observed the crimson man. "Roderick, so you have become a god as well like the other three failures? I was told you would appear, and since you made the favor of coming all the way here I will let you experience the birth of the most supreme bring!"

The dark light expanded, blocking Roderick's vision as the heavy feeling in his heart exploded. "Don't!"

In the last seconds, Roderick eyes met Artemis' and the later locked her eyes with his. Despite holding feelings that were beyond the feelings between siblings, his lips raised into a radiant smile making seem as if time stopped.

"Mel." Roderick muttered the name only both of them knew before seeing the person before his eyes disperse before his eyes in a similar way to when an elemental master is consumed.

Having experienced the same thing, Sea, Wood, Flame, Wind, Light, Space, Time, Star, Emotion, Earth and Sky. All the twelve Divergent Powers exploded into a massive pillar of energy that engulfed the whole planet.
