The Dreds kept coming through the hole till almost dawn. I had no idea how the vampires could get ahold of so many of these creatures but they were a pain in the ass.
We actually started taking turns killing them due to how many there were and how long we could go before we started overheating. My points had gone up to 1700 at this point. When the last minion had fallen the sun had finally started to change color again.
The light filled the sky with brilliant gold colors as the dome came to a close for the week and we all heaved a sigh of relief as the horn sounded through the sky. Ra's voice echoed through the air after it.
"Congrats to those who surprised us with tips turns and tricks on this week of the dome! You have survived till the end and have won your favors." The British voice happily called out.
"To those who didnt make it. We hope you can surprise us all next time you come. We enjoy seeing the different tactics, powers, and emotional uproar that send chills down our spines. Now! To the Awarding Ceremony!"
Ra laughed as a gong went off somewhere.
"This weeks winner by a landslide caught us unaware of his brutal side as well as the craftiness of his faction. Bringing shocking revelations and bloodlust we haven't seen in ages! Give it up for... ANUBIS!!"
I felt my face warm as the ceiling disintegrated into dust and I was lifted into the sky. A video played before everyones eyes with little commentary from Ra.
"The skills presented were terrifying and refreshingly brutal. After poor Achlys turned into stone he went off the deep end. Who knew he had a soft spot for her. His body looked like it was worn down and his fight had left with it. But it didnt last long."
It was the scene of Medusa and Polyphemus deaths. The air had turned black and I could see what had actually happened to me. A chill went through my blood watching it. I looked like a walking horror of the night. Only white for eyes and ink blackness from head to toe.
I was shown biting into Medusa and breaking her wrist. Brutal and unrefined. Savage would describe it better. Her body shrivelled to dust after.
"But that's not all folks. Looks like an Egyptian Hercules took the stage with some Spartan mixed in!" Ra commented.
It showed my slim figure. A toothpick compared to the cyclopes. Picking him up and walking to the edge. It was then that audio was turned on and my roar was heard.
"THERE WILL BE NO PEACE!!!" I heard my voice echoe. Before chucking the poor sod off the building to his death.
It even showed his landing. He landed right on top of a metal coated giant. What it was I couldnt really tell. But it didnt look the same after the cyclopes landed. He landed on it with so much force that the thing broke apart sending shrapnel everywhere. Five gods died from the explosion and others were heavily injured.
Feeling like I needed to look away for a moment to keep my composure I looked down. I almost laughed at what I saw. Lily was almost jumping for joy while Henry was clapping away with Hoy giving me a thumbs up.
I shook my head as my face went a bit more red.
"By vote we now present him with the Title of Personal Kill of the Month! Congradulations for giving us a great show!" Ra echoed through the dome.
My ears perked slightly at that. (Personal Kill of the month! How did I get there? There must've been others who had done better. Where were they?) I thought as anxiety went on the rise.
"And without further ado. We now present the Faction Kill of the Month!" Ra announced.
Everyone rose up into the air from our Death Hunters.
"Collapsing two skyscrapers into unsuspecting factions led them to a brutal dome victory. Using Persephone's skill to collapse the buildings led them to achieve greatness. Give a hand to the Death Hunters!"
I felt a hand grab my wrist and raise it into the air above my head. Lily had decided to look like a unified team with our arms raised in victory. I smiled a bit at the strangeness of it. I had fought twice in the dome. Both times I won. Mostly by sheer luck. But I won. If I hadn't awoken my skills I would've been dead and Lily would have still collapsed the buildings.
So I was grateful in some way for being able to participate in all this.
The light from the diamond sun began to brighten till the world turned white. "We will see you next week on The Dome!" Ra excitedly announced as I found I was once again standing in front of the dome's entry gate.
A crowd of people had gathered around the gate with Beth rushing from the front.
"You guys did it!! Hahahaha! You really did it!" She cried out as happy tears filled the air around us. She shouted as she jumped onto me in a bear hug and I swung her around.
A second after I put her down, a massive hand clapped my back almost sending me sprawling.
"You keep doing this and people will start thinking you actually know what you're doing." Leroy's voice came from behind me.
I smiled. "Yeah but I'm just glad I made through this one!" I said as we clasped hands and he gave me a competitive smile.
A chill went down my spine as I felt someone glaring at me. It felt like I was a target.
I turned and found who I was looking for. Tyr (Or the guy I thought was Tyr) Glaring at me from across the platform.
Geb tapped my shoulder as his British accent filled my left ear. "Be careful of that one. Bit touchy since he got wiped out by a horde of snake viruses in the sewers. Didn't even last a minute."
I nodded as my Anubis form collapsed down into my civilian one. My dark scarf swirled about as people started clearing out and heading for the towers once more. As I went many in the crowd got close and clapped my back and shoulders. "Good game rook." "Dont stay proud long." " I'll catch you next time."
All these echoed through my long ears. The last one was from Tyr. He had gotten close enough to yell out.
But I never once really took him seriously. I don't know who the hell peeved him off but I really didnt deserve this.
Our floor was a welcome sight to see when we arrived. The fairies and creatures paid little attention to us as we passed and only a couple waved their congradulations at us. But for the most part it was quiet. And when I finally walked through the front door of our faction house. I finally felt safe.
The slight scent of lemon filled the air as we walked in. Buzzing noises hummed to life as a small white swarm streamed across the ground toward me.
"Hi guys." I said as I was suddenly tackled by a bunch of fluffy bugs. "Hahahaha! Yeah I missed you too." I said as they weaved about me dusting me off and cleaning.
The others just shrugged and walked about the house. Everything was spotless. Not a problem in sight. The wood floor shined bright against the artificial light. The walls looked nice. Not a crack in the plaster could be seen.
"Good job." I said as I stood up. Henry was lounging on the coffin couch while Lily was tending to her plant. It's bright yellow head looked like a mix of a lily with a rose. A very odd looking flower.
Beth had gone down stairs to the holo room while Hoy was sitting on the floor meditating.
(After all those years being stuck here. I wonder what they did for fun?) I thought.
My thoughts began to turn toward home again. My sister and I would play all the time. Chess, checkers, you name a kids game. We played it.
But here. I couldnt find a thing to do. Besides the Vineyard. But even that was minimal. There was only so much you could do with that. And nobody would enjoy being in the holo room for too long. Even with anger issues like mine.
I let out a sigh which got a smile from Henry.
"Bored?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yeah. Is there nothing to do around here besides the dome? The holo-room? Is there no other game or thing we can do?" I asked as I plopped onto the floor.
"Well... there's always cleaning or working out." Hoy said.
"Cleaning is obviously covered." I said as the fluffs scittered about. "And one can only work out so much. Is there nothing else?" I asked aloud.
Lily gave a small smirk. "When we get our rewards you'll have some time to go get more parts. You can ask Mercury if there is anything new on the game side of things." She said as she sprayed some water on the flowers petals.
I let out a sigh at the thought of points. It was a pain in the butt to get points and a greater pain to figure out how to spend them. Either enjoy food and drink or get more parts.
"Speaking of points." I said as I looked at the door. "When do you figure they'll get here?" I asked.
"Well... Icarus is very busy with everything so I'm sure he'll be here as soon as he can." Lily said as she stopped taking care of the flower and pointed it toward the warm electric sun.
I let out an even bigger sigh and decided to head downstairs. Beth was in the boxing ring and had her hands wrapped like those from MMA. She was ferociously punching forwards.
The punching bag in front of her was red in color with white stripes. It bucked and swung as she hit it. The sheer force was nothing to scoff at. I knew guys who could take a punch that would probably go down from one of those swings.
I could see her mouth persed and angry. Her frustration about something had been made evident. She punched and punched as her expression became more and more angry.
"You would do better with a sparring partner." I said and she spun around in a defensive stance. "Dont do that! You scared me!" She shouted angrily.
If I had eyes I would have rolled them. I went up to the ring and stepped through the rungs.
My clothes shifted into something similar to Beth's. A black wife beater and red boxing shorts with white stripes were my apparel. My hands were wrapped and obviously ready for a tussle.
The punching bag suddenly turned into data bits and Beth punched through air.
"Why are you doing this?" She asked as I saw her arms tense up a little.
"I see a person who needs to vent stress and disappointment. And who better to vent it towards than the one who caused it." I replied.
She rubbed her forehead. "You aren't at fault for that. I am." She sighed in frustration.
"All the same then." I replied raising my fists.
"I've never fought someone with military experience before. So please give me pointers." I said as I threw out a fist.
Beth deflected it without looking. "I'm not in the mood Sil." I shrugged. "I didn't ask if you were in the mood. I asked for pointers." I said as I threw out an uppercut. She turned her head to the side and grabbed my fist.
Her mouth showed she was unimpressed.
I waited a moment before I heard it.
"Your punches are slow and sloppy. Tuck in your arms." She instructed.
I smiled as I did what she said. I struck out again. A little faster this time. She dodged again. "Faster and with more accuracy. What will you do if you meet a target faster than you? And what's with the weak striking power? Are you Ronda Rousey? Hit Me." She said loudly.
I kept striking and trying to dodge. I have to admit I had no idea what I was getting into. But I knew it was worth it already.
Cause I could see Beth smiling.
