Chapter 97 - Truth

The memory fast-forwarded a little and stopped after a few seconds. In the training yard, his father was teaching him martial arts and breathing techniques.

It's just a basic exercise and meditation posture, but his father deceived him by saying it's the most mysterious martial arts that he can ever hope to learn in his life.

The funny thing is, he believed and begun to diligently practice it every single day. Later when he came to learn the truth, he didn't even speak with his father for ten days.

The memory once again fast-forwarded a little and stopped where his parents were discussing something in their bedroom, not knowing Gin was beneath their bed.

"It's not surprising he found us. My only concern is Gin, we can't let them ruin his life as they did to us." Riyel spoke, gritting her teeth.

"Don't worry, honey. I am preparing something in secret. If everything works as I planned, they won't bother Gin in the future." Yewan comforted his wife.

"What is it?" His mother curiously asked but before Gin could hear his father's answer the memory once again fast-forwarded.

Gin nearly cursed the 'child him' for not listening to such critical information.

'It looks like the father and mother were pursued by someone. Is it that tall man?' Gin thought and noticed the vision once again stopped at some point.

In the hall, his father and mother were sitting in the dining table facing the tall man. This time Gin clearly saw his face, a blonde man with refined facial features.

With fashionable eyewear, he looked like a researcher who completed multiple degrees in the field of science and technology.

"Why did you come here?" His father, Yewan asked.

"I got your message and decided to make a personal visit.

I'm surprised. The rebellious couple who's always on the run finally decide to cooperate on their own. What's changed?" The blonde man asked.

"We understood running isn't an option so we chose to cooperate," Riyel said.

The blonde man smiled, he didn't buy their answer and didn't care. Reyhart couples knew it too.

"Anyway, congratulations! You two are the first in our group to infiltrate the mysterious research division of the Human Union." The blonde man praised while Riyel and Yewan remained silent.

What they are doing is betraying the human race but what choice do they have?

"Report your findings periodically to me, I will let you know what to do." The blonde man stated.

"Hereafter, we will be monitored by the human union regularly so it's better to reduce the contact between us," Yewan spoke.

"You don't have to worry about that, I have my ways. You just have to do your job, otherwise...you knew the consequence."

The blonde man smirked. He has them in the palm of his hands, they can't do anything but obey his commands.

Just as he was planning to leave, he suddenly stopped and glanced at the direction of Gin. "I didn't see his face clearly the last time I came, what's his name again?"

Yewan abruptly stood up from his chair and spoke while gritting his teeth: "If something happens to him, we won't hesitate for a second before reporting your actions to the Human Union."

As soon as his father spoke, the blonde man narrowed his eyes, and a suffocating wave of pressure crashed upon them.

Gin saw the 'child him' was shivering under the pressure before his mother arrived and hugged his body, alleviating it.

The pressure emanated from the man was capable of terrorizing his parents but surprisingly his father and mother were able to endure the pressure.

Seeing both of them were hellbent of protecting the child, the blonde man chuckled. "Interesting...you two are ready to sacrifice your own child to save someone who was picked on the streets."

The blonde man's words were like a thunderclap resounding in Gin's ears. 'What did he say? I am not my parent's biological child."

He glanced at his father and mother who remained silent. Gin knew it's the truth since his parents didn't refute the blonde man's claim. Even so, his love for them didn't diminish in any way.

From their conversation, he could tell the blonde man was forcing his parents by holding their own child captive. Clenching his fist, Gin thought, "Whoever you are, if you are alive I will find you."

Unknowingly tears trickled down his cheeks, discovering his parents are ready to sacrifice their own child to keep him safe.

Their love for him was like a mountain, they wept in their heart and bottled their feelings so that Gin could be safe and smile without any worries.

Reminiscing the memories of his parents, an unknown feeling welled up in his heart.

Rage burned in his eyes, he didn't expect his parents were living such an oppressive life. He could feel his parents' disappearance is related to this blonde man.

His emotions were all over the place, turbulent and chaotic. An intense, murderous aura exuded from his body as if he wants nothing but annihilate everything on his path.

Just as his emotions turn messy, his disorderly soul starts to fluctuate. The memory plane disappeared tossing him into a region surrounded nothing but darkness.

He tried to calm his mental state but upon thinking his parents were manipulated against their wills and separated from their child the whole life, his feelings intensified.

Standing alone in the dark plane, he was besieged by negative emotions and bad memories. He was diving deep into it without him knowing.

Rage, remorse, hate, disgust, fear, and so on occupied his mind. Something deep inside his mind screamed and want him to get out of this place but he couldn't.

He was on the verge of losing his sanity and consciousness. An unknown fear gripped his heart and he felt death.

At that moment, the symbol on his chest trembled a little and a chuckling sound echoed driving him out of the violent and messy mental state.

--

Outside,

Reyna and Zera were startled by the Gin's sudden outburst. The bloodthirsty aura emanating from him turned their expression into a grim one.

"What's wrong?" Reyna frowned. She didn't know what's happening.

"Oh no! If his mental state didn't calm down soon, his soul will collapse." Zera spoke with a solemn expression. 'How did this happen?'

Before they could think of a solution, Gin's condition returned to normal as if nothing happened, bewildering both Reyna and Zera.

The weird thing is, nobody heard the chuckling sound that practically saved his life; Not even Gin.

-

Gin's mind became clear-headed.

He felt nothing but terror thinking of the dark void. He didn't expect his emotions would get better out of him.

All the negative emotions that he felt a few seconds prior were still vivid. His heart was restless, he was shivering without his knowledge while cold sweat drenched his entire body.

Though he was just a consciousness now, his physique could feel what he feels; the same could be said about his soul.

He didn't know how he came out of that place but he was glad he came back.

A new thought surfaced in his mind, 'Is my mind and heart that weak? I was easily influenced by all those negative feelings.'

How could Gin knew what he experienced is beyond his imagination and understanding. He should be thankful that he's alive now.

'I am weak, so was my heart. Henceforth, I need to be steady and unwavering with clear-mind. Not let my emotions take better out of me.' Gin thought.

His disorderly soul reformed into complete one within no time. Unlike before, his formless soul had a tinge of white tone around the edge.

He came out of his comatose and could once again feel his body. When his soul energy caught Reyna's figure near him, he was surprised but also perplexed.

It's true she agreed to protect him until he completes the task for her but Gin didn't expect her to follow him all the way to the extreme snow region.

'What's her motive? why does she willingly protect me? There has to be a reason but what is it!' Gin wracked his brain but couldn't come up with an answer.

He wasn't stupid enough to think that she fell in love with him at first sight and decided to protect him. It's true he's a genius and a little handsome *cough* than others but he knew that's not the reason.

'Well...I will find out in due time.' He thought and threw the issue at the back of his head.
