Chapter 22 - The Origin of Cultivation

Gin looked towards the source of the voice and noticed a tall, bulky man with a tattoo on his neck. Apart from him, another six persons were standing behind him.

With just one look, he could tell they are not persons who will reason with others.

The customers who were enjoying the food got frightened and quickly distanced themself from them the restaurant.

"Brother Claw, it's that bastard who hurt us." A person with a bandaged hand shouted, pointing his fingers at uncle Leo who came out of the store.

"Silver, shut the fu*k up when I am talking." Claw coldly rebuked.

"Y-yes,"

Gin laughed and stepped forward, "Buddies, you all look empty, want to order something?"

"Boy, get out of my way or I will break your hands"

"Sigh, I will give you guys one last chance. Get out of here, otherwise..." Gin's smiling expression shifted into a cold look.

"Otherwise what?" Claw disdainfully asked.

"Otherwise, I won't be responsible to call the ambulance." Gin playfully said.

"What?" The seven peoples from the Redwolf Association were dumbfounded hearing Gin's response.

"Blockheads, If I break all your hands, you won't be able to call the ambulance, right?" Gin shook his head. 'How could they not understand something so simple?'

Claw's expression turned icy, while his eyes emitted deadly rays. This is a naked humiliation towards their association, Gin's words are enough for them to put a death fight with him.

Even so, it didn't affect Claw's rationality. He's in the field since young so he could tell the young man before he is not as simple as he portrayed.

'I have to use my full strength and finish him off with a single blow. '

"Claw of the Golden Eagle!"

Claw roared and rushed at Gin while his right hand gave people an illusion it transformed into that of an eagle talon.

Gin calmly stood in the same place, he could easily perceive their strength with a single glance - Claw's at a 5-star level at most while his six companions were only at the 3-star level.

Aunt Hil wanted to stop the fight, but she was held back by uncle Leo. "Don't you see Gin has already grown up?"

"Hehe, that boy is going to die, that's the reward for being arrogant." Silver sneered while the other five guys agreed.

Claw's talon shaped fist lunged at Gin's shoulder, striving to clutch him. In onlookers' eyes, Claw's speed was quick while his attack is packed with terrifying strength.

But in Gin's eyes, it was extremely slow, so slow that he got tired of waiting. When the attack reached Gin, he swiftly grabbed the so-called eagle claw in his hands.

'So weak!'

"Eagle claw? It's more like a paper claw." Gin smirked.

"Y-you?" Claw was shocked. He knows how powerful his attack was, even some 6-star level peoples in strength won't take his attack head-on.

But the youth before him easily caught his attack with bare hands. What does it mean? It means the youth is someone with a terrifying strength that he can't hope to achieve in his lifetime.

He cursed Silver in his mind for bringing him trouble and made him offend an expert.

"Sir Expert, please forgive us this time. We won't appear in front of you ever again." Claw pleaded knowing he can't even escape.

'Crack!' Gin directly broke Claw's hand which he grasped.

"Ahh!" Claw's high pitch scream reverberated, scaring everyone who's watching the fight. Gin swiftly broke Claw's other hand and kicked him aside.

"Now, I forgave." Gin said.

The six flunkies who came with claw were terrified by Gin's ruthlessness. When they met Gin's gaze, they were so frightened.

"I will give two choices; one – break your hands yourself or stand in line, I will do it for you -- pain-free."

"Two - Try to escape, I will additionally break your legs as a reward."

Just the thought of having their legs and hands broken at the same time scared them silly. Without them knowing, they orderly stood in a line like school students.

"Good! Don't rush, come forward one by one." Gin stated.

As he told, Gin broke their hands without causing any pain. They even wondered, whether their hands are truly broken or not. But looking at their flaccid hands, proved, their hands are truly broken.

Unlike the other six, Gin heavily slapped the person named 'Silver' knocking four of his teeth out, who's the reason for this whole trouble.

"I know you guys will come again by bringing more help, so I will show you this." Gin revealed his Ranker Id.

'He should be an Advanced Ranker!' Claw who was twitching in pain thought, witnessing the Ranker Id.

Even though the Redfox Association has a strong backer, and didn't fear some small Rankers and Enforcers.

He also knows it's not wise to further provoke such a young ranker who's strength possibly reached an advanced level for such a small problem.

Enduring his pain, Claw stood up and said, 'It's a misunderstanding. We won't come here again. Thank you for showing mercy."

Gin didn't bother a glance and went back to the Aunt Hil's side. Meanwhile, Claw and his six flunkies swiftly disappeared from the streets.

"Aunt Hil, Uncle Leo, they won't come here again. If there's any problem, don't hesitate to call me." saying this, Gin walked back to his home.

"He truly has grown up! His parents would have been pleased to have such a good child, pity, they were no more." Aunt Hil sorrowfully commented watching Gin's disappearing back while Uncle Leo comforted her wife.

In the meantime,

At the headquarters of Ageis Group located in District 7,

An explosion 'boomed', the fire alarm went off prompting everyone to flee the building.

At the topmost floor, two figures terror strickenly gazed at the figure who's floating in the mid-air.

The two terror-stricken figures were none other than the notorious chairman of the Ageis group, Orwin Ageis, and his secretary.

It's 25th floor they were talking about, but the figure whose face that couldn't be seen was able to shuttle here with much ease.

According to their knowledge, even 'Seal Opening' stage practitioners aren't capable of that. 'Just how powerful was the person hovering in front of them?' Both of them wondered.

"Why did such a figure came looking for them?" Orwin thought. Just looking at the masked figured brought a great deal of pressure on him.

The figure waved his hand, then a loud slapping sound echoed. Finger marks appeared on Orwin's face, blood dripped from the rim of his lips.

'What did I do wrong or whom did I offend?' Orwin thought over.

"That slap is for not bringing up your son with good teachings. Don't ever think about harming the kids or you will regret being born."

"There will be no warning next time!" The figure spoke and faded.

Orwin and his secretary let out a sigh of relief. Truth to be told, they were truly discussing killing someone.

In the morning, he got the news his son Clog was killed while his body was ravaged by a group of wild beasts.

Within an hour, he found out the reason and who are all responsible for his son's death. Just a few minutes back, Orwin planned on hiring some skilled fighters to kill everyone responsible.

In fact, Clog is not one of his favored sons. At least as a father, he thought he should avenge his son's death.

Not anymore; Not after such a warning. He wants to live.

Not knowing someone has saved them, Gin reached home and moved to his bedroom. He wants to enter the magic space again and explore it since he wasn't able to do it before.

He sat in his bed, closed his eyes. Like last time, he guided the soul energy to the symbol on his chest.

As soon as his soul energy touched the symbol, Gin once again appeared in the magic space; aquarium-blue sky, grass-filled land, white fog at the distance, a table, chair, and a bookshelf — nothing changed.

Gin wandered the small one square kilometer land but when he neared the fog concealed region he sensed a restrictive force as if he isn't allowed to wander here.

Gin came back and sat in the chair, attentively gazed at the two books he picked from the bookshelf.

He chose the book named 'What is cultivation?' to read. Just after reading 2 pages, Gin was completely fascinated by the contents in it.

"A long, long time ago, heaven created this realm which gave birth to a myriad of stars, planets, sun, moon, and innumerable lifeforms."

"Soon, immortal beings, deities, demons, and various powerful races filled the land."

"At first, everything seemed fine - but envy, jealousy, greed, and desire enveloped the lands. Mortals desired to become gods, Gods wanted to become Immortals, Immortals wanted to control everything. Chaos descended."

"As a result, only mortals suffered. Mortals chose to fight back; they endured, learned, improved, fought, failed, and at last, they discovered the secrets of becoming strong - Spirit Seal"

"The term 'cultivation' originated and spread throughout the lands. Even gods and immortals perceived they can still train, advance and improve their strength."

'I can't believe the origin of cultivation has such a tale. Moreover, from this book, I can affirm there are gods and immortals in this world. Why haven't I heard about them? Did they live in a different world?" Gin pondered a minute and once again indulged in the pages of the book.

The book explained clearly about how everything began, and about various other things such as cultivation, spirit seal, Elemental affinities and much more.
