Cienar gave Lothor an irritated look before Lothor took his arm tightly and walked to the other side of the ship and cut the ropes from his wrists. He still held a tight grip on Cienar's arm as Dagger questioned him. "What are you doing?" Lothor put the knife back into his coat pocket. "There's no point in keeping him tied up. Once he touches the water he'll be able to slip through anything in that siren form. Besides, if he's smart he'll know not to act out, or else his friends are as good as dead."
Cienar looked down still cringing in pain from Lothor's hold on him. Dagger smirked. "Got something to help you breathe under there?" Lothor nodded and a branch with small blue berries on it appeared in his hand. "Yep." Lothor then picked one and ate it before turning to Cienar again. He lifted Cienar onto the railing of the ship and climbed up next to him. "Lead the way." In the next second he pushed Cienar back so he fell off the side and into the water. "Ah-!" Lothor laughed and then jumped in behind him.
Cienar felt freeing as the cold sea enveloped him again, and his body became water. But that feeling quickly diminished as he turned to Lothor beside him and took his hand remembering what he was there to do. Lothor was confused for a moment until Cienar started to swim down with surprising speed.
Lothor held on as they went deeper and deeper into the dark depths of the ocean. As it started to become pitch black, Lothor noticed that Cienar's body was faintly glowing and getting brighter the darker it became. By the time they reached the bottom, Cienar's body was glowing bright enough to see everything in front of them. Lothor couldn't help staring because of how captivating it was. Cienar didn't notice and swam forward along the sea floor until they reached a huge ravine.
The ravine was so big that it could be the size of an island. Cienar swam down as soon as they reached it and a new darkness that was worse than before surrounded them. All that they could see was the wall of the ravine and the sea particles that reflected Cienar's light. It felt like ages before they reached the bottom, even though Cienar was swimming quickly.
Lothor's expression became uncomfortable feeling how high the water pressure was but did his best to ignore it. At the bottom of the ravine there were a series of tunnels. Every one looked the same other than slight differences in size.
Lothor looked to Cienar questioningly, but then Cienar stopped completely and he was no longer glowing. It was so dark now that they couldn't see anything. Cienar then pushed Lothor against the wall as something came into view. It was a large sea creature with parts of it's body glowing bioluminescently blue and swam right past them slowly.
It was extremely big and had long teeth that could tear them apart in a second. Lothor was focused on the creature as it swam away but Cienar then pulled his arm and went down into a hole in front of them. The tunnel led to another body of water and Lothor ate another berry as Cienar started to glow again. Awhile later, Cienar took a turn and began to swim up to a light above them, and soon they came out of the water and into an air pocket of a large cave.
Lothor let go of Cienar and climbed out onto the cave floor and stood up dizzy from all the water pressure. Cienar came out behind him and collapsed on the rock breathing heavily. He was out of his siren form again and Lothor turned to him raising an eyebrow. "What's up with you?" Cienar sat up and didn't look at him.
"Glowing that long takes a lot of my energy." Lothor took Cienar's arm again and pulled him to his feet. "As much as I love seeing you so vulnerable, we're still not done yet." Cienar looked at Lothor then to the end of the cave with light coming from it. "It should be right down there." Lothor turned and started walking towards it taking Cienar with him. "What was that thing in the ravine?" Cienar didn't expect his sudden question and waited a moment to answer.
"A leviathan. They live in deep parts of the ocean and eat anything that moves." Lothor didn't respond and continued to walk to the end of the cave. Cienar tried to keep his balance as Lothor pulled him quickly. He still had barely enough strength, and Lothor's forceful grip was only making it harder to catch his breath.
When they finally reached the end of the cave, the light adjusted, and Lothor's expression changed into shock as soon as he saw what was on the other side. A glass dome covered the ceiling of the cave that was plated in gold, and a golden staircase was attached to the rock in front of them leading down into an entire city below at the front gate.
The city was completely made of stone and gold, the greek architecture making the ruins even more amazing to see. There were cracks in the buildings and spires and temples that had fallen centuries ago. In the middle of the city, there was a large building that had mountains of gold coins and gems in a sea both inside and outside of the doorway. Vines and plants had overgrown into the cracks of the streets and all along the buildings, and the whole place looked abandoned yet shined like it was brand new.
Lothor let go of Cienar's arm amazed looking at the myth he saw in front of him. "Holy hell I expected you to take me on a wild goose chase." Cienar looked at the floor annoyed. "I'm not stupid enough to risk the chance that you were bluffing."
Lothor turned to him and smirked. "Good because I wasn't." He faced the city again and stepped onto the gold of the first stair when Cienar stopped him. "W-Wait. You're only going to take the treasure right? You're not going to damage the city or anything are you?"
Lothor gave him a confused look and Cienar looked down again. "It's just- This is an amazing artifact, and if it has to be found, then I'd rather that only the money would be taken from this history." Lothor waited a second then smiled walking up to him. "Do you even know why I wanted to find Atlantis so badly in the first place?" Cienar raised his head and waited for him to continue.
"Ever since I was banished from the underworld, I've been trying to rebuild my empire. After a thousand years it will still never compare to my brother's. But now, thanks to you, I have everything I need to create my own kingdom. Sorry but the buildings are made of gold, and I don't want to leave one piece of treasure left. Which will have to involve tearing them down." Cienar's expression became grim and Lothor laughed turning back to the city. "History huh? This place was just out of myth and legend. All I'm doing is keeping it that way."
