A small kingdom can possess the power of a nation when needed. Rynad was one such kingdom. In the event of a royal wedding, it made sense for the cathedral and castle gates to be heavily guarded, but this didn't stop Fishy.
Fishy ran across the castle fields to the large pointy cathedral located on the other side whilst all the hectic guards chased after him.
A large amount of the guards couldn't keep up with his speed, and the few that used ranged weapons couldn't hit him. Even when firing magic from behind him, he jumped out the way without looking.
Fishy never returned fire and never looked back at those that tried to stop him. He kept his eyes on the cathedral and kept running, knowing his time was running out.
Inside the cathedral, the ceremony was nearly at its climax. A single kiss would lock Clara into a marriage that she didn't want any involvement in. She only agreed for the sake of the city, throwing herself away, if it meant everyone else would survive.
"If there is anyone that objects to these two-"
The priest spoke and on cue, the large doors that sealed the room exploded off their hinges and blasted into the middle of the room. Dust filled the area as the guests screamed in panic, trying to hide from whatever was walking into the room. But as they looked through the clearing dust, only one man stood there.
"Was I on time?" Fishy stood looking down the long aisle with everyone's eyes on him. The strongest guards that Rynad possessed were all waiting in the room, protecting the king and prince, but now, they all faced Fishy with their large claymores.
"Clara!" Fishy screamed as the guard's pointed their weapons at Fishy's neck, keeping him back. "I've come to get you!"
"Go home!" She screamed back in frustration, surprised to see just how more mature Fishy looked since she last saw him. "This is my mess. If fixing everything means losing me, then so be it!"
"No can do, we've got bigger problems and I need my secretary." Fishy smiled as Clara looked back at him. Her dress stained with the dirt that blew in. She turned to prince Sebastian to see his confused expression.
"Guards! Kill him!" The delusional king, Valoe, shouted.
The guards obeyed their order and charged forward towards Fishy, but they didn't get very far.
Before they could take one step closer, the entire room was sealed in ice. The windows and doors were sealed shut. The walls and floor also wore ice, even the chandeliers were frozen in place.
Clara thought that a political marriage was the best way to achieve what she wanted, but it was Fishy that understood another way of getting countries and people to comply.
Fear.
"Step back!" King Valoe jumped behind his son on the altar, shaking. "Don't kill me!"
"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Prince Sebastian pulled out the swords that were displayed at the end of the cathedral. Two swords that were crossed as a symbol.
"No. Stop!" Clara said as she pulled in front of Prince Sebastian. "He won't hurt you."
"Allow me to introduce myself." Fishy's voice echoed around the cathedral, everyone was already scared of him, but his echo made him even more feared. "I am the leader of Fintan City, my name is Fishy. Clara is my secretary who was acting in my absence."
"This is insanity! This wedding will continue." The king demanded, poking his dirty head out from behind his son. But, as he looked into the hall, no one was there apart from Fishy and the frozen guards. The two sealed doors had melted with Fishy's magic, and everyone took the first opportunity to run away.
"I don't think so. Everyone else left, but let's think about it all." Fishy said as he slowly stepped forward across the ice. "You can cancel this wedding, or you have Clara marry your son. But I should warn you, if the wedding does continue, I will declare war on this kingdom, and single-handedly remove this place from the map. I don't need my city behind me to exterminate you all, but I'm sure they'll join in and help crush you for your resources."
Fishy proposal stunned both the Prince and Clara with the sudden absurdity. The priest refused to give up but as Fishy stepped forward, he noticed just how big the gap in their strength was and dropped the sword.
"What do you want?" He asked, "I am Prince Sebastian, soon to be king, I will make the decisions here."
"So long as that is fine with the actual king?"
The king nodded his head from a safe distance, getting further and further away until his back hit the walls.
"Good. What I'm after is an alliance."
"An Alliance?" The prince was still confused.
"Our kingdoms are opposites. You have money but no military strength, and we have no money but military strength. So let's help each other out. You cancel this wedding, we will send guards to enforce order into this city. We will also filter in spies to spread the word of Prince Sebastian and how great of a leader he is. I'm sure your people will love that."
"And you want me to cancel this wedding and share our wealth?" The prince tried to understand.
"Yup, We offer our protection and will help you grow as a kingdom in exchange for trade and the wedding being cancelled. Plus, with the extra money, I'm certain I'll be able to make some great trades with other nations that would benefit both of us, for instances, the druids"
"I see…"
The prince stood on the spot weighing up all the possibilities. The military deal was great on its own, and the addition of gaining reputation was a bonus. The Rynad kingdom suffered from crime, and they were willing to spend some money to fix it. Plus, no other country had managed to trade with the druids before.
"Deal." The prince went to shack hands with Fishy.
"Fantastic." Fishy almost ripped Sebastian's hand off with just one shake. "We have already stationed some hidden guards around the area. I believe in the time it took us to make this deal they have reported almost 50 crimes, and since we shook hands all 50 of them have been dealt with."
"A-already…" The king was shocked to hear. Their crime rates only went up, and they had lost many guards in the process. No nation would ever have helped them until now, and they just saw how powerful their new allies were.
"You planned this." Said Sebastian. "You knew I'd accept."
"I just had hopes you were a smart ruler. You'll do great, King Sebastian."
"Are we leaving?" Clara walked back down the aisle by Fishy's side. Holding up her large wedding dress as she walked to not trip up.
"Yes, but get out of that thing first. Prettiness doesn't suit you."
When the doors shut and the king and prince were left alone. The current king dared to question his son.
"Why did you accept?" He asked.
"The deal benefits us more than them. I can't say if there is a reason for it, but for now, we should take it. And we should also train so that one day we can say we are proud to be allied with such a powerful nation."
