Chapter 66 - Running without their leader (I)

3 Days.

That's how long Fishy was gone for.

As decided by Fishy, in his absence the person who takes charge of the city would be Clara. She would have full control and power over everything in the village, even the power to declare war against any and all nations should she wish. But, of course, she wasn't going to do that. Despite her anger towards Tanba, she knew that it was important to run the city just as Fishy did.

Think of every possible action and take the best one. Think of the one that helps the people, and think of the one that shows others just how strong the city can be.

"Alright!" Clara's first meeting was one that was intended to be filled with fun. She gathered all the executives and stood at the end of the large meeting table. The executives all stared at her attitude that was as bright as her pink hair. She was ready to show the city that she had what it takes to be the leader. The role Fishy trusted her with. She was ready to make the village rich.

"First order of business, the new building..." The meeting went as expected. She had been watching Fishy present the organised meetings and had sat in on every one herself. She had the experience and the knowledge to do it. The elder smiled at her after the meeting ended, everyone's spirits were at an all-time high. Everyone was prepared to show Fishy something great when he returned.

However, when Fishy did return, no one saw him. Ziu's spy team notified him of Fishy's arrival and tried to greet him but they failed, he brushed past them all and sealed himself in his room. Because of the strange event, they were seeing, an emergency meeting was held.

"Has anyone spoken to Fishy since he returned?" Clara asked.

"Nope." Everyone spoke together.

"Apparently, his face was very pale," Ziu read a report from the spy that spotted him. "He was expelling anger all over his body."

"Anger? Do we think he failed to return the two girls?" Silmor suggested.

"What? You think Robin and Callie died? You think Fishy couldn't save them? What a stupid idea. Fishy is the strongest person in this world, we can safely assume they got home without worry."

"So you assume something worse happened?" Said Clara as she collapsed her head into her hands.

"Maybe… what if we try and cheer him up?"

"I can make his favourite," Tin jumped up, "banana bread!"

"Perfect! Do that." Clara stood up to address the crowd, "Although our leader has returned, we can't say he is fully back until he is ready to take back his seat. For now, we work as normal, we try everything we can to cheer him up whilst working our hardest. That is all."

The meeting ended and everyone filtered out, they all went back to their many jobs as dark clouds started appearing above the city.

"Another storm…" The elder stood on the edge of the decking, one that connected to the large open-air meeting room. "We've been having very bad storms for several days, even an earthquake every now and then. We've lost a large number of crops, animals as well have escaped because of it."

"I guess these things happen," Clara responded as she cleared all the paper off the table and started to wipe it down.

"What do you do if Fishy doesn't plan to return?"

"What do you mean?"

"Who are we to assume he wants to continue being a leader."

"You might be right, but this is Fishy, so I assume that he will come up with some sort of diplomatic way to decide the next leader and announce to all of us his plan. For now, I think he just needs some time alone. I can feel the magic coming from his room. It makes me sick every time I look in its direction."

"It's a rather vile stench of magic." said The Elder "Whatever happened in Va must really have upset him. To cause such weather…"

The elder left with Clara connecting what he just said. She wasn't as shocked to think that Fishy was the cause, but as she returned to her house, and forced herself to look over at his house which neighboured her own, she felt just how hard of a task Fishy had.
