A flickering fire kept them warm whilst they waited for their pot of baked beans to boil. The horses all went to sleep first, with the main three all eagerly waiting to eat. Their stomachs were growling as their appetite was like that of an angry demon.
Even if it was only simple camping food like beans and sausage, they couldn't wait. The experience made it taste better.
The smell filled the starry sky as it finished off. Smoke rose into the endless sky whilst they poured it into tiny little bowls. Each of them was given two sausages covered in the tomato sauce of the beans.
"Delicious." Fishy said, "Just need some chips…"
"That's a bit more technical," Clara said as she also stuffed her face.
"I did think about bringing stuff like that, but I didn't want to worry about frying them."
Whilst the three of them ate, Ziu kept his guard up. The wild night was full of thieves and unwanted attention.
If they lost their cart, it was game over.
