Assistant Wu Min-Jun went right away to call Zhang Yu Yan to make sure that CEO Li's schedule would be cleared so that she'd attend the meeting for sure because only he knew how foul his boss's mood would be if she did not attend.
"Hello, is this Assistant Zhang from the Li Empire?" Assistant Wu said
"Yes this is, may I ask who is this?" Yan said curiously as even though she was not the CEO, she was still Ms.Li's business and personal assistant so it was still a feat to have her (business only) phone number as most would have to call the company itself and usually those who do would speak to the receptionist.
"I am Wu Min-Jun, the assistant to CEO Wang of Wang Enterprise" Wu said
"What do you need Mr.Wu?" Yan said professionally while concealing the surprise she had
"I am here on behalf of CEO Wang to make sure that CEO Li comes to the meeting on Wednesday [ A/N : today is Monday btw ]"
"Well CEO Li might not come as you know if something comes up" Yan said carefully
"Well then please clear her schedule and make sure she comes" Wu said with authority. "And why should I?" Yan asked getting mad at being bossed around
"Do you want your CEO to live without her ever having a lover? We all know she has only dated once and probably won't again if we don't make CEO Wang and CEO Li meet. *mumbles* and CEO Wang will kill me if she doesn't come" Wu said
"Fine fine i'll make sure she comes, but don't blame us if something urgent comes up" Yan said giving up as she remembered this man was a very persistent person who doesn't give up easily and she doesn't have time to argue.
"Ok then I will go now, goodbye" Wu said and hung up. "I am happy finally boss will get happy news and not breath down on us poor souls" Wu mumbled to himself
"Bye" Yan said and went ahead to clear her boss's schedule for the meeting that will most likely last around an hour or so and also made sure that after it was lunchtime so if CEO Wang wanted to, they can have lunch together as Yan has a hunch that he wanted to spend time with her boss.
- Back to Ying -
Ying arrived at her office, and she drove her car to the parking complex that is right next to the exclusive elevator made for her and anyone who she granted access to. She got out of her car and went inside the elevator.
Right when she arrives at her office, she sees her V.P Lin Feng* standing right in front of her heading towards his office which is situated in the office right next to hers.
Lin Feng is a friend she met in university while she was getting her business degree. At first for her, he was annoying as he would always try to interact while she was a sort of introvert so did not want to interact with him. She later got used to him and they began being friends. He is 182.88 [A/N: so around the same height as Yang but Yang is more handsome hehe] lean and handsome looking and carefree while being only 1 year older than Ying but very serious when it comes to working.
"Hey Feng" Ying said
"Hey Ying" Feng said back smiling
"We have a meeting with CEO Wang on Wednesday so make sure everything is finalized before we go to Wang Enterprise" Ying commented while walking to her office
"Ok boss" He saluted at her in a funny way and walks with her to go to his office
Ying giggles a bit and walks to her office to start preparing for the day
-in Ying's office-
"Yan, what is my schedule for today?" Ying asks her assistant
"Ma'am, today you only have documents to look at and some important papers to sign. Other than that, you'll have a lunch appointment at 12 with your father, Chairman Li" Yan told Ying
"Ok give me the documents and since it's 10 right now, inform me when it is 11:30 unless he chose a restaurant far away?" Ying asked
"No ma'am, Chairman Li chose 'Quanjude' which is only 20 minutes away from the office"
"OK thank you Yan, you may go back to your office, and bring me some tea please"
Ying went to her desk, in fact, her office including her desk gave off a modern look. Her desk was a light wooden desk with a glass top. She had floor to ceiling windows on one side of her office and the windows were bulletproof, shatterproof, and fireproof. It also was on the 55th floor so no one can really see her, the most of her shadow. She then started reading, proofing, and signing documents.
11:25 am -
"Ms.Li, it is 11:25, should I get the car ready?" Yan inquired her boss
"Yes thank you, Yan" Ying said while putting the papers away and getting her phone and putting it in her LV purse
Ying walked to her elevator and pressed the button that would take her to the basement where her car and chauffeur was.
[A/N: Ying sometimes uses the chauffeur and other times she drives by herself so the chauffeur is a secondary character like some other people *cough cough*]
Ying got into the black bulletproof Maybach car with her chauffeur "Old Zhou" (sometimes referred as Uncle Zhou since he isn't to old but Yu and Ying likes calling him Old Zhou) which is the family chauffeur for 2 decades
"Hi Old Zhou" Ying said while grinning like a little kid
"Hello child," Zhou said. He is very fond of her and her brother as he watched them grow up and he feels a connection with the "kids" (even though they are grown adults *cough*)
"Take me to 'Quanjude' Old Zhou please"
"Of course child"
- prior to Ying arriving -
Li Wei, also known as Chairman Li, arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes ahead of time to order the Peking duck since he knew Ying likes it.
"Hello Chairman Li, let me take you to the private room you booked" the waiter said
"Thank you" Wei said
The restaurant was very famous and busing thus usually you would need a 4-month reservation but he was a special case along with his family since the owner is a friend of his from when he was in college
-Ying arrived at the restaurant-
"Hello, my father made a reservation here I believe"
The host was surprised to see a young woman that's dressed casually yet it did not hide the elegance and aura the woman had
"Name please"
"Li Wei"
"Ok ma'am, please follow me"
The host then led her to a private room, which is the best one they offer with an amazing view as the restaurant is on 45 story building and the private room is on the 45th floor (the restaurant has 2 floors) which usually most can't reserve this room as you need private connections and money to use this room
The host brought her to the room and announce her arrival
"Chairman Li, your daughter is here, i'll leave now"
-the host left and Ying went and sat across from her father-
"So Chairman Li, what do you need?" Ying asked and if one looked in her eyes, you can see mischief in them
"You unfilial brat! You dare call me Chairman Li again!" Wei yelled as at first he was happy to see her but his mood got ruined when she spoke formally to him which he did not like
"Ok ok dad, I was only being formal seeing that you got your private assistant to make an appointment with my assistant just to see me" Ying said while smiling [since her father is still the main shareholder and chairman, he still kept his assistant which he had since he was the CEO]
"Hmph!" Wei childishly said "Well if I didn't you would've rejected my lunch invitation with an excuse of work! Your mother right now is traveling to who knows where, you're brother is busy with work and his girlfriend and now after I handed the CEO position to you, you got busy as well! So to make sure you came, I asked Zhang Yong (Li Wei's trusted subordinate and private assistant) to make an appointment so you can't refuse"
"Well I came dad" Ying chuckled "Anyways, did you order the Peking duck?!" Ying asked excited
"Of course I did"
"Ok dad, now tell me the real reason you called me for"
"Smart child, well I want you to find yourself a boyfriend and I will make sure Yu will not interfere"
At that time, Ying was sipping the water that the waiter put out when bringing Wei here, and she was surprised at the sudden words of her father that she started choking on her water
"W-what did you say father?! Are you trying to get me and some innocent men killed by Yu?!" Ying asked while being shocked since she knew for a fact that Yu does not think anyone deserves her, especially after her breakup with Zhao Feng
"Of course not child, which is exactly why you're going to go on blind dates without him knowing" Wei said in a matter-of-fact tone
"No way in hell dad! First I don't know the men you're going to set me up with and you know Yu sometimes randomly checks!"
"Then hang out with that Yang rascal more" Wei said, he respects the child but can't help to not like him to much as well since he was too close to his daughter before for his liking because in the past Li Wei did not want Ying to be too close to men
After that, the waiter came with the food so they first allowed the food to be served before talking again
"I will just hang out with Yang then, it is good since he is my business partner so gege won't get too mad, and why are you pairing me with Yang? You used to hate it when we were really close before" Ying said not realizing that she started getting comfortable with him again as she said his name as if they were really close (which they were but Ying did not feel like that even though subconsciously she started liking him again and if Yang knew this he'd be overjoyed as he will later realize that he wants in the end for Ying to be his wife *cough cough more details will be revealed later in the chapters*)
A/N: sorry guys for being gone for a while! I had school and then the COVID19 case happened and school became hectic and on top of that, I became sick and just got better so sorry guys! I originally wanted to post about the meeting that's going to happen between Ying and Yang for their software project with the government but decided instead to give some hints about what will happen in the future! I hope you see the hints so be prepared! and sorry if the transitions seem stiff as this is my very first novel/story I've ever written that I intend to finish and let other reads
PS: Also a reminder for everyone to be safe and make sure that you wash your hands and limit physical interactions! I hope everyone will be safe and that we will get past this time! I hope this chapter brings some smiles to my dear reader's faces! I also tried to edit my previous chapters and it would mean a lot if you can POLITELY correct me if you see any! Sorry if this seems like a boring chapter but it did show some secondary characters that will pop in and out of the book.
Also please let me know if I should set a time every other weekend to post a chapter or two that would be around 1000-2000 words long!
