'Where am I? It's so bright.. on the left of me it seems to be a river of some sort and everywhere else its just.. complete white.' A man thought to himself with a blank expression, this place felt familiar to him.
A voice appeared beside the man and said;
"Ah, you must be a new soul here! I am your commander of the Soul Palace and I will be guiding you back to becoming a human as well as becoming a Soul Warrior!" The man turned to look and saw a male with a large white beard, wearing a dark black cloak. He had an aura of some sort surrounding him that seemed as if it would destroy everything.
"I see. So I died. Do you know my name?" The first man asked the intimidating one as they walked.
"Your name is Blake, I am Darv, everything will be explained shortly. Come, line up with the rest of the dead souls near the wall! We will begin shortly." Darv said before walking in a different direction after pointing where exactly to go.
Blake looked and saw other 'souls' gathering there, he saw a beautiful girl among them that seemed familiar to him. She had long blue hair and perfect lips, her eyes looked like crystals, Blake was struck in his heart.
'I need to quickly line up too' Blake thought to himself, if he made himself late then he wouldn't want to know the consiquences..
Blake then lined up with everybody else, soon Darv appeared again with a few others that looked similar to him. He seemed to be carrying a large pack of some sort, it was the size of a suitcase but had batteries everywhere. Darv then began talking.
"Now I know there must be a lot of questions... but they are unimportant. I will begin to explain the actual important things that will affect you forever." Darv held out the weird suit case with batteries and began to explain
"This is called a battery pack, when a Soul Warrior dies they drop one, in the case they don't, they are extracted. The levels of battery packs can go all the way up to 15, but they will stunt your growth past a certain point. There is no clear way to find out how strong a person is, but when they die is a clear indicator. Level 15 is the highest of any battery packs possible, now you can choose to use one of these battery packs, but the level will be unknown to you and fate will determine it. Some of you may already own a pack, in which case you can use it now." Darv explained to everybody the intricacies of battery packs then started to explain something more interesting..
"The other route is a bit easier, but riskier. You can swim down the Soul River and attempt to catch souls, the more you catch the larger chance of a stronger destiny. At the end of the river you will be given a choice of a destiny, or a title if you will. There will also be info related to it as well as your maximum and lowest amount of power during that lifetime, which is possible to be altered when alive, just extremely difficult. After all of this you will be given a small dream in to the future, for your main destiny is now sealed." The man finished with a creepy smile, and everyone was thinking to themselves on what to choose.
Darv then spoke one last sentence;
"If you'd like a battery pack.. line up to one of these fellow people" He said as he pointed at the people he brought "Otherwise, you may go down the Soul River now." After he said this hordes of the people ran towards the battery pack lines, not wanting to miss the chance of being strong in their reincarnation at the start!
'I'm.. going to go down the Soul River.. I don't want chance to be involved, nor do I want a limit..' Blake thought as he went towards the entrance of the Soul River, then he saw that the girl from before also chose this path!
'Shes interesting.. I hope I one day see her once more.. but chances are slim.' Blake then went down to swim in the Soul River!
Immediately, he was gasping for air, desperately trying to swim. It felt as if the world was collapsing down onto him and his feet were being pulled into hell themselves. He could see balls of light everywhere and he was desperately grabbing them left and right as they absorbed right into him!
'I.. just have to keep swimming!' He thought to himself but he was being ripped apart in the River! The water pressure was slowly increasing, causing pain and pressure all around him. Then he heard Darv speak once more from the other side as he handed out batteries.
"Oh, and I forgot. The Soul River is dangerous.. it tests aptitude and has a chance to destroy your Soul! But that doesn't matter" The creepy man finished with a slight giggle.
Blake's face turned to one of shock as he was relentlessly attempting to reach the exit, swimming with all his might, he grabbed as many souls as he could before he finally reached the end which was a pit of fire.. Blake screamed as he fell in.
Then there was nothing but black for five minutes..
A screen then appeared with the words; "Total Talent Tested: 30
Choices:
1. Demon God (Legendary): Starting 30, limit 90
2. Harvester (Unique): Starting 25, limit 85
3. Dream Eater (Rare): Starting 15, limit 60
4. Warrior (Common): Starting 1, limit ???"
'These seem to be really good options.. but I already told myself that I won't be picking anything with limits! I will create my own limits! I will not be weighed down! I choose number 4!' As Blake thought this he saw a dream of the future, but it was complete nonsense! His choice altered the future too much!
He then once more, saw black.
