What shines against the pale blue sky?
So deep, so violent, so unknown
Doth shines within a distant land
So rigid, as constant as a midnight moan
What seeks bewilderment, yet faint at heart?
To live, to love, to lie, to die?
That sits under the heat of the sky's eye
That cries with words that moans a sigh
A pause, a break, a clause in the norm
The end, the coming, the new beginning
A regret, a word left unspoken
A moment left with no meaning; hanging
And so the mask beguiles reality
The tears of a moment; forgotten, wasted
Under the scrutiny of a beloved one
Love entrusted, cut down; denominated
*******
Does it hurt? Yes it does.
But will I do anything about it? No.
Then they would ask me why, or why not
And then I'll smile and say
"I deserved it. I always did."
