Chapter 77 - 77_

"We'll start the meeting now." Bai Yulin ordered as she took a glance over Ji Ke Mu.

He looked at her too as he smiled. Then he stood up and introduced himself as the next vice president who would be replacing his father.

Everyone already guessed the reason of his appearance and they all nodded. But one person raised his hand and calmly asked why wouldn't a voting process needed for selecting a new vice president.

Bai Yulin stared at that person and realized he was one of Ji Haishan's supporters. He didn't really like Ji Ye Qiu and now that his son was about to replace him, he felt apprehensive.

Bai Yulin calmly stated "Mr. Nian, the decision was made by the patriarch himself. So no voting process is required."

Others who heard Bai Yulin looked pretty surprised. The patriarch was a person who wouldn't involve himself in the company affairs. Unless there was a pressing matter that needed his attention.

The last time he came to the company and sat down on the same seat Bai Yulin was occupying now, was when he brought Ji Haishan to introduce him as the new CEO. That too, without a voting process. It was simply his order. An order people couldn't ignore as he was the biggest shareholder at that time.

Of course, many of these upper level people knew about Ji Haishan's real identity based on some rumors cooked by Ji Ye Qiu. Some were against him taking over as the CEO because he wasn't a rightful Ji. But some decided to follow him after he proved himself worthy just a year after he took over.

Many deals and million dollar contracts were successful under Ji Haishan's leadership. He was just a natural at it. Partnership with several rival companies turned the tides around as Ji Haishan easily became acquaintances with them.

He was able to rise up the margin profit by 5% within the last few years and it kept on rising steadily. Since then, others didn't dare to look down on him again despite the rumors of him not being a true Ji.

Well, board members wouldn't care who he was as long as he could lead the company to glory. His talent spoke for himself and he had the patriarch's backing. Going against Ji Haishan wouldn't be wise.

But still, there were still those who were blinded by their own standards. They were the lackeys under Ji Ye Qiu. They believed an older and experienced man like him should be the one to lead Ji Group instead of Ji Haishan. After all, Ji Ye Qiu was the supposed direct heir to the patriarch.

Obviously, the bald director Lin was one of those people. Along with his four other acquaintances. Three were the distant relatives of Ji Ye Qiu, his cousins who also held the Ji surname. Those three vacant seats were supposed to be for them.

Another one of director Lin's acquaintance was an outsider like him who was lucky enough to get some shares of the company, director Mu. These two were always trying to piss Ji Haishan off but they never went overboard.

In the past, Ji Ye Qiu's three cousins, who were also Ji Haishan's distant uncles, always tried to chase him out by doing many underhanded tactics which were also dangerous.

Ji Haishan was lucky that the patriarch was behind him and he took care of his safety by placing veteran ex-soldiers as his personal bodyguards. His security details were tight and he often thankfully got away from many of the threatening situations.

However, the patriarch Ji Zhang, never once tried to hand them over to the police. It was because they were a Ji. He couldn't punish those uncles since it would also damage the Ji family name. Which in turn, resulted in Ji Haishan resenting him for years.

There were many reasons why Ji Haishan wouldn't want to come home to the Ji mansion. But this could be counted as one of them. He didn't want to see his grandfather who had promised to protect him yet left him afloat in the sea with a target on his back.

If Bai Yulin were to know about this, she would say that rich people's lives were extremely complicated.

When Ji Ke Mu sat back down after introducing himself, many people started to welcome him in the company. Mostly, their words were just a symbol of praise and flattery. It was clear that they were just being polite for the sake of formality.

Bai Yulin stole a curious glance towards Ji Ke Mu and she didn't say a word. She hoped he didn't get suspicious over her actions because she wasn't the real Ji Haishan!

Soon, everyone began to quiet down. Bai Yulin took it as a cue to proceed with the next agenda.

"Regarding the re-election of auditors. Do you have anything you want to say?" Bai Yulin inquired, steeling her expression so that she appeared cold enough to the eyes of others.

Some people began to discuss things. The atmosphere turned serious and slightly heavy. Every shareholder inside this room currently held a strong foundation in Ji Group's prosperity.

Most of them were share partners during the patriarch's time and they held quite a number of shares which they were reluctant to sell.

Ever since Ji Zhang handed over the CEO position to Ji Haishan, he had been transferring his shares gradually every year to Ji Haishan. Now, Ji Haishan was the only person who held the biggest shares in Ji Group. Ji Ye Qiu came in second.

But now that he was forced to resign, Ji Ke Mu took over his shares and became that second person who got the biggest shares in the whole company. Ji Ye Qiu was left with nothing at all.

Also, Ji Xia was given 1% shares every year by Ji Zhang ever since she was a baby so her position might as well came in third.

Time passed by in a blink of an eye. Three hours later, the meeting was concluded without any mishaps.

Contrary to what Bai Yulin expected, there weren't much problems coming from the baldie director Lin and his friend, director Mu. But the fact remained that they were being borderline hostile towards her.

'Maybe because Ji Ye Qiu no longer holds any power. So they already lost their big thigh.' Bai Yulin mused.

She also wondered why the other three stinky uncles didn't show up for the meeting today. Ji Haishan had told her about them last night. He reminded her to be cautious of them but seeing their absence, Bai Yulin felt there was nothing to worry about.

'I guess Ji Haishan's grandfather did a good job in teaching those stupid uncles a lesson.' Bai Yulin said to herself.
