A month has passed of me being in Morocco. I've kinda gotten used to the cultural and geographical differences. I've learned a little arabic from the townspeople who are super friendly and family oriented. I've also gone around other parts of Morocco and have found out that they have beautiful and unique architecture.
I've been training with my dad's friend, Jordi when he isn't busy with the water project. He doesn't know about my problem and I plan to keep it that way because I'm tired of people pittying me. He began training me in tia chi one of the things I was never taught on Camille island. I know many different types of martial arts focusing on speed and strength among other things. I thought that maybe mastering tai chi will help me when I am encountering the witch next time she decides to appear.
Jordi spoke passionately about channeling energy, balance, and inner strength. He talked about why he started his tia chi journey in the first place. His story was beautiful and it inspired me. For weeks he taught me the basic movements of tia chi. The movements themselves seemed simple yet profound as they flowed seamlessly from one to another, a mesmerizing dance amidst the darkness, making my soul feel light as a feather.
As weeks turned into months, my dedication to mastering each movement became unwavering. Day after day, the gentle sways of Tai Chi unveiled layers of hidden strength lying dormant within myself, physical strength, and mental strength I didn't even believe possible. Once I began being able to fight we fought one day and Jordi was surprised to find my body moving with a synchronicity that defied his expectations. The air crackled with energy as we fought. Our bodies danced in perfect synchronization as sweat poured down our faces.
One day the village had a crisis, there well which should have lasted for at least 10 years since it was just dug a couple years ago. The townspeople gathered for a town meeting called by the mayor. The friend I was talking about is actually there for the water project to supply Africa with clean water. He was here undercover for the increase of dark magic in Northern Africa. Turns out a lot of towns in this region of Africa were having a decrease in water production and many have dried up. Many of the townspeople have been panicking and have been praying for answers and have been asking for the gods to make it rain.
Some of the different water projects people had to come together to talk about why this was happening and he was one of them so I had to big him farewell for now. before he left for the capital though he told me that he had a lost magic from when him and my dad were young adults that isn't used anymore because it can be dangerous. After a friend of the king died from using this ability it stopped being taught to fairies on Camille island. The ability to enhance a tool or weapon with your power. It is hard to control sense it focuses such a strong amount of power into such a dense object. It can cause more harm than good but it was a good last resort. When you had no other cards in your deck. you could focus all your energy into an object and use that.
He explained how to channel it into something like a sword and showed me how without actually transmitting his power. Jordi said "electricity is a very dangerous power to transfer into an object since you could easily have it backfire and be fatal". I smiled "Jordi not to be rude but why are you telling me about this if it is basically a forbidden ability". He calmly packed a bag while explaining "I told your dad you came to Morocco, and he told me about some of the stuff that has been going on. I'm not saying I ever want you to have to use this dangerous ability but if you need to do it, you might as well practice to do it right. Your dad is a close friend and I would hate for him to lose his daughter". I looked at him surprised "what"? He smiled "well Victoria I will be back in a week or so, hopefully with answers and solutions for the water crisis". With that he left for the week leaving me to train by myself.
