Chapter 13: Cleaning Up (2)
Appearing at the gates Katya was led to a scene where she saw Kovit and the chicken looking at the other as if they were long lost lovers of some sort with they was they looked at each other. The rest of the gang had apparently gathered around one man who was on his phone and they appeared to animatedly chatting. She had brought these men along for a job and only half of them were working. Even her right hand man Kovit seemed to be doing something with a chicken.
Ticked off she called out, "Kovit!"
Suddenly Kovit snapped out of his trance, "Yes…yes boss?"
He asked turning around.
"What the hell are you planning on doing with the chicken?" she asked.
"Uh…boss?" he asked not quite understanding the chicken.
"Why are you looking at it like a forlorn lover?" she asked clearing the question and behind her Ly snorted with laughter as Kovit blanched.
"Boss, you misunderstand," said Kovit quickly. "I swear I've seen this chicken somewhere before."
"In your previous life?" she asked with a raised eyebrow and at that Ly broke into a full blown laughter.
"Boss…" whined Kovit, the way his boss said all that with a straight face struck daggers into his heart and above all, pride.
"Go keep the chicken somewhere," said Katya. "I have a job for you."
"Yes boss," he said and he quickly ran over and shoved the chicken into one of the other gang members' hands, ignoring the pleas and ran back.
"You need to go to the Forest Snakes, their hideout, you know where it is don't you?" she asked.
"Yes boss…but why?" asked Kovit.
"There're some troubles," said Katya and she proceeded explain the whole deal with police complaint and Kriti being taken for questioning, something that caused no small shock to Kovit.
"What do you want me to do there boss?" he asked pulling himself up to his full height and waiting for his orders.
"Ask for a time and a place," said Katya. "For negotiations."
"Yes boss," said Kovit and prepared to run off when a sudden thought struck him and he quickly turned around.
"Uh…do I go alone boss?" he asked and Katya let out a deep sigh.
"No Kovit, take your family and friends with you," said Katya sarcastically.
Kovit nodded causing Katya to slap her head, sometimes he was beyond stupid.
She proceeded to speak in her clearest voice holding back her annoyance,"Of course you go alone, you're going to there hideout and asking them for a time and a place to meet."
"Yes sir," said Kovit gulping as he faced the brunt of his boss' annoyance and rage. "But what if I-."
Katya suddenly came forward and with full reassurance in her voice she spoke, "Kovit…trust me."
Kovit paused for a moment before slowly nodding and from behind her she noticed Ly's movement. Curious about the doctor she turned to face him.

"I'm curious," he said with a light smile layering his face. "I'm also surprised more people haven't figured it out already."
Frowning as her pulse quickened she asked, "What haven't they figured out?"
"Oh…I'm sure you know," he said with a knowing look.
At that moment her heart stopped for a moment as she froze…'he knows' was all she could think.
"How…how do you know?" she asked in a croaking whisper, she thought she'd been very careful.
"I'm a doctor, girl," he said with a shrug. "If I can't differentiate between male and female physiology then I might as well give up my medical degree but I can certainly see why others would be fooled."
"Are you going to tell them?" she asked in a quiet tone, a doctor…this man was never fooled in the first place then, well she supposed she couldn't fool everyone all the time.
Ly let out a laugh, "Oh, oh no, I'm not, my lips are sealed, it's not my secret to tell."
Katya frowned, "But they're your friend."
"It's also because of that I won't tell them," said Ly with a sigh. "It'll be funny to see their expressions if and when they do figure it out."
"I see," said Katya nodding, the man seemed trustworthy, almost pointlessly so. "Is there a reason you revealed you know about this now, do you want something?"
Ly gave her a once over with those sharp eyes as she unconsciously tucked herself in, limiting her movements, the man had highly discerning eye and though she had no more great secrets, it still felt like he was figuring out new things about her.
"I was just letting you know that I know about it," he said and then he walked back to lean against the concrete wall.
Touya suddenly came out followed by Quedell.
"Yo!" he greeted her with pomp. "Have you done what you needed to?"
"Yes," she said nodding. "I've sent Kovit to set up a meet."
"Ah, well what now?" he asked with a grin.
"Now…?" she asked. "Now I go to the station, see what's happening."
"Oh, well…" started Touya. "Allow me to tag along."
"No, you-."
Katya was cut off halfway through as Touya dragged her off with a hand on her shoulder and he turned to Quedell who held the now calm puppy in his hands, Katya made a note of how cute it looked.
"Ly," said Touya with a widening grin. "Make sure these people clean up the area, I'm dropping my friend off at the police station."
"Friend-?" started Katya again.
"Yeah, we've gotten, very close, haven't we?" he asked putting his face right in front of hers, making her flush and feel annoyed at the same time.
"I don't know what you-."
Katya started to speak again but he was interrupted by Touya dragging her off again. She shot Ly a pleading look one he proceeded to entirely ignore with a whistling tune. Katya got piled into the shotgun seat of a range rover, a car she hadn't known was Touya's, but then again she'd only known the many for barely a day…maybe less.
"To the police station then," he said with a cheery smile as he got into the driver's seat.
Katya sighed, "Yes."

On her way down, she had called Shade to let the man know that she was going and he had offered to come there himself as well, something she refused. Arriving at the station he pulled straight into a space that said only for officers on duty.
"Really?" she said. "Here?"
"Well, we'll be leaving soon," he replied. "It'll be fine, don't worry."
He got out along with her.
"How do you want to deal with this?" he asked looking at her from the corner of his eyes as his placed his straight sigh on the station.
"We walk in and ask to meet my friend," she said.
"A valid plan," he said with a nod.
Katya walked up the station, few officers and other people paying attention and Touya walked behind her, both giving off a vastly different atmosphere as Touya greeted everyone that came his way. Katya on the other hand was just as likely to push them down the stairs.
"You know," he said pulling up along side. "Maybe you should smile a little more."
Katya looked at him with a frown but then her mouth widened into a light smile causing Touya to pause, "Is this fine?"
She asked him sarcastically as he stood there dazed.
***
He had taken the full brunt of what was a light smile but to him it felt like he had climbed a mountain and came down. Lost in his thought process he looked on at Katya whose face reset into its old ways.
He patted his chest as he mused to himself. "Nearly gave me a heart attack."
Thankfully as he noticed Katya wasn't paying attention to what he said as he looked at the security measures they would need to go through, all normal for a police station but it did still look daunting.
"First time?" he asked with mischievous smile, distracted she turned back to him.
"What?"
"First time, at a police station?" he asked and she nodded.
"Can't say I'm surprised but still how did you, with what you do, not manage to get yourself in here at all?" he asked.
She turned away at that with a light cough, "Shade's pretty much managed to take care of it all and then there's Emilia?"
"Emilia?" he thought about that name but then he smiled knowing exactly how it worked.
She turned towards him curious, "Do you know something I don't?"
He shrugged innocently, "No…I don't think so."
He then walked towards the reception of the building, where in sat a man and a woman both attractive to look at.
"Hi," he said greeting the receptionists as they politely greeted him back.
"One of my friends was taken in for questioning, I'm just here to know how the procedures work for things like that," he said. "Can I see her?"
"Sir, are you related to this person in anyway?" he asked.
"No sir," he replied. "Just a friend."
"Are you an attorney, someone she called?" he asked.
"Fortunately no," he said with a laugh.
"Is there something wrong?" he asked further.
"Unfortunately sir, if you're not a direct relative or a lawyer-."
As the receptionist was saying this the phone near him rang. The female got up to address the phone and after a couple of quiet yes sirs through the phone she turned to speak into the man's ear. It was amusing to see the change of expression from a certain indifference to reverence and slight fear.
"Sorry sir," he said quietly. "You can go through, just proceed and go through the scanners."
"Will do," he said with a smile.
"Let's go," he said turning to Katya.
"What did you do?" she asked.
"I know people in high places."
"How high are we talking?" she asked as she too looked up as ideas came springing up.
Touya laughed, "I know what you're thinking and no I will not asking anyone to release your friend, she'll be fine."
Touya watched her turn around with a huff. Amused he thought to himself in disbelief, was he pouting? He had to see that. He twirled her around eagerly, maybe a little too quickly as they came face to face and almost lip to lip.
