The last time she visited the hall, she came out not as good as before.And she hopes this time it will be different.
But well, destiny clearly has something else for her.
She gave in struggle against the strength of her captor. Damn vampire and their super strength! No wonder she and Daniel can't escape them when they kidnapped them. Now she dont feel too ashamed about being kidnapped while she herself is an assassin. No human could defeat an inhuman monster like them if she didn't have any plan ahead.
The sounds of footfalls echoed through the empty hallway.
Now what? What did she and Daniel do again to make them have to face this vampires?
How did she even get in this mess up situation?
The footsteps finally stop upon a big double door that she starts to become familiar with. One of the man who has shoved her and Daniel to walk here earlier pushed open the big door,revealing a modern and ancient mix like big hall, the light from the chandelier almost blinding to her eyes.
The two bulky men from earlier nudged she and Daniel on the back, forcefully demand for them to step inside.
"Jerk." she breathes.
She stumbled a little before she collecting herself and walk with Daniel further into the room. The big, long table functions as a meeting table was surrounded by men and women, who looks at her and Daniel with their chins rise, as if she and Daniel are nothing but trash.
She swepted her eyes across the room silently, recognising a couple of people as the High Council from yesterday, and of course, Lord Josiah.
Her eyes landed on a particular cold face with golden eyes, staring at the table silently.
"Do you know why you're here, Human?" the Josiah guy asked, looking at her with eyes glinting with an ill intent.
Oh, straight to the point, are we?
She ignored him and keep quite, having no intent to entertain the old man.
The guard closest to her came slapping the back of her head," Answer the Lord, you punk!"
She laughed humourlessly, short and abrupt, before she gave the idiot guard her deadliest glare with Daniel joining her.
"No." she answered through gritted teeth, pushing the inside of her cheek with her tongue irritatedly.
Just you wait, you're gonna regret treating me like this.
Lord Josiah suddenly laugh out loud before looking at her with ridicule. "Of course you don't know, human. You're not a supernatural."
Duh.
Daniella makes a are-you-serious look as she looks at him like he is the stupidest man in the world.
It looks like clearly Lord Josiah does not approves with someone so low below him looks at him like that. His eyes harden as he looks at her with anger and hatred.
"Xavier."
"Yes,my Lord." He instantly replied.
"Your pet requires discipline.Why don't you whip her 15 times? You know,to discipline her." His disgusting pale lips curve into a more disgusting smirk.
'I have experienced worse,idiot.'
She was an empress,a world renowned empress.It is impossible for anyone to climb up from the lowest possible rank ever ,to the most powerful being in the entire kingdom.
She didn't die for nothing,and she knows she couldn't trust and depend on anyone right now,when she have only her to depend on.Like in her previous life.
"Oh,her pathetic human brother should be joining too,right?"
Daniella looks at the old vampire with utter resentment.Right now,she couldn't describe properly just how much she hates this cruel monster.She feels like she could puke blood with the level of detestment in her directing toward this vampire. He can mess with her,insult her or even torture her,but not her brother.
She averts her silver orbs to stare at a pair of mesmerising golden eyes.
Xavier nods in agreement. "Yes,my lord."
What is he...? Why is he..?
Is he dumb or what? Why does he have to listen to this pathetic lord?
She then gritted her teeth in frustation when she realised something.
She did it again.
She cared again.
Josiah smiles in triumphant, looking at her smugly as if he is able to get the entire world to bow under his feet.
Her eyes harden.
"You! Go get the special whip!"
A series of gasps resounding throughout the hall.Murmurs upon murmurs soon followed among the people in the hall.
What? What are they so noisy about?
The guard Josiah ordered earlier hurriedly nods,scurrying out of the hall to go get the said item.
Daniella feels uneasy upon seeing the looks of absolute surprise and horror written all over the faces of the guests in the hall.She glances at Xavier for a second,wanting to see his reaction. His face still indifferent and steel-cold like usual,but the unmistakable look of troubled and conflicted that passed his face for a split second makes her heart thunders uneasily.
Something is not right.
The double door of the hall was opened again,and in come the earlier guard.And in his hand is something that she never wants to see again,something she recognises and familiar with greatly. She never wants someone she loves to even be touched even a single inch by that thing.
It's a whip.But not those regular whip. It's a Cat O Nine Tail scourge whip, a Jiuweihu whip.Or in japanese Kumiho or Kitsune.Jiuweihu means the legend nine-tailed fox. Suits with its name,the whip posses nine seperate strips of length of leather,a multi-thonged whip.
But instead of leather or rope,its made of iron. In her previous life,a world where something like spirirts and mana exist,this type of whip usually has his own spirit. It blows are harder by one hundred more and it can heats itself with its master command. Normal people that don't practice martial arts usually die after the first blow.
She thanks the God that this world don't have that kind of dangerous tool,or else she couldn't live longer than a several months.
But then something flashes from the corner of her eyes,and the aura around her instantly drop drastically making the people around her unconciously shivers from fear.But from what? They don't know.
The thing she saw makes her lower her darkened eyes frigidly.
Spikes. It's a spiked whip.
