Chapter 39 - Alarm Clock

After eating in Undine dorm's cafeteria, Selina, her roommates, and their familiars go back to their dorm room. After arrived at their dorm room, Alexa, Emma, and Emily immediately change their outfit.

"Where are you going?" Selina asked after watching them for a while.

"We want to go to Blooming Moon. We got a message that our exercising outfit is ready," answered Emily.

"Ooh… But can't you have your order delivered here?" Selina nodded her head then asked. Her head tilting to the left side.

Alexa scratched her head shyly and said, "Actually, we also want to check the Blooming Moon autumn collection. Do you want to come, Lina? "

Selina shook her head and said, "I want to do the Math assignment and exercise my elemental magic."

"You're working too hard, Lina...," said Alexa, who was pulling up her red long skirt's zipper.

"I have to work hard if I want to defeat Rosenfeld."

"Then we'll go first, okay? Bye!"

"Bye," Selina waved her right hand.

The sound of the door closing indicated that Alexa, Emma, Emily, and also their familiars had left the room. On holidays, Seraphium Royal Academy students are allowed to leave the school area until nine o'clock at night. Of course, they are only allowed to leave if there is an agreement from their guardians. In the case of Selina's roommates, they left after their parents gave permission and sent their private knights as bodyguards.

Selina walked towards her desk and sat on the chair. She then opened her desk drawer and pulled her Math assignment book out of the drawer. For ten minutes Selina worked on a Math assignment containing the questions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. When finished, Selina put the book in and other items that were also needed in the lessons on Monday in her leather backpack.

After finishing preparing the items needed for Monday's lessons, Selina took out a few of the plastic cups she requested from the Undine dorm's cafeteria. Because she wanted to exercise Water elemental magic first, Selina only needed two plastic cups. She then filled one of the plastic cups with water.

Selina took a deep breath and whispered to herself, "Let's start."

Selina exercises Water elemental magic for one and a half hours and is followed by another one and a half hours of Wind elemental magic exercise.

*Fyuuh...*

Selina exhaled after finishing her elemental magic exercises. She then stretched her stiff body for several minutes and put back the plastic cups that became her training tools.

Reopening the drawer on her desk, Selina picked up a diary that had a key. Although Selina does not have the habit to write diaries, this book is practical to use as a book to write down all the gadget ideas that come to her mind.

"Alarm clock," Selina said quietly while writing in the title section of the diary.

"What are you doing, Lina?" Ciel asked. What Ciel knows is that Selina has finished working on a Mathematic assignment from Teacher Ila and exercising her elemental magic.

"I'm designing a gadget, Ciel," Selina answered Ciel without looking away.

"Gadget? Does Lina want to be an alchemist?"

"Yes. But this is a secret. Don't tell anyone," said Selina who finally turned her face towards Ciel while the index finger of her right hand rose to the front of her lips.

"Okay. Ciel won't tell anyone," Ciel promised Selina.

Selina smiled at Ciel's promise. She then refocused on what she wanted to do. Selina first drew the final shape from the alarm clock she wanted to create. The alarm clock she drew was round with two fox ears as speakers. In its circular display section, Selina divides it into twelve parts with each part having a number that writes numbers of one to twelve. Also in the middle of the display are installed two clock hands. One is longer than the other.

"Yep... The cute style is indeed the best," Selina said, smiling cheerfully after finishing drawing the alarm clock she imagined.

"Oh yes, also add the tail as a buffer. Ehehe it is getting better."

After that, Selina drew the inside of the alarm clock visualized by her. Selina draws various gears that work with each other perfectly. The third thing she does is to connect the section with a mechanism that creates sound from the fox ear speakers on the clock. Then she connects the two parts with the mana stone chamber. Now all she has to do is determine which runes are appropriate for making this alarm clock works. This is because, without the runes which determine how the mana stone will power this gadget, mana stone will be the same as an ordinary stone.

"According to my estimations, the rune that is suitable for this alarm clock is rune motiez or rune of motion for the clock section. No other runes are needed because the parts are intricate and work together with each other," Selina said to herself while looking at the picture of the alarm clock that she has made.

"Now all that's left is the alarm. I will use the opnem rune which is a rune for recording sounds and mamnaz runes to manifest recorded sounds."

"Okay. This is enough."

Selina then closed, locked her diary book, and put it back in the desk drawer.

"Lina has finished designing?" Ciel asked.

"En! I just have to try to make it. But it seems like it can't be done now. We have to wait until we get home, then we can try to make it," Selina said.

Ciel nodded his head as a response to Selina's words.
