Faolan felt his wolf growling in anger beneath the surface of the cage the witches spell had cast upon him. Isabel had certainly trapped him. He cursed himself for ever meeting that devil spawn of a witch. Cursed himself for attending the stupid fundraiser that had them crossing paths in the first place. How had his life shattered in less then a week?
Through dark magic that's how. Dark magic and an insane and delusional witch who had thought he was madly in love with her at first sight. She hasn't seemed to be crazy when he'd sat beside her at the bar taking a well earned break from socializing to wet his throat with a stiff drink. Apparently she wore crazy well since even his wolf hadn't scented the other supernaturals mindset. As a Shifter he was used to having his wolfs powerful nose and eye for detail to help read people. But she had tricked him. Her smile had seemed sweet, innocent, and friendly. And so he had spoken to her a short conversation mostly small talk before his duties as Alpha and head of the packs business called him away for more socializing.
The witch had flashed him a smile and said she couldn't wait to see him again. At the time he had thought it had simply been a polite ending to a conversation at an overly stuffy fundraiser with a stranger. Somehow he had missed the spark of madness and obsession in her eyes. The rest of the night had passed in a boring blur like most such events. And he had a small pack of woman that followed him around with lust filled hopeful gazes. He wasn't sure if it was his natural charm or his reputation as an animal between the sheets, or the fact that he was rich and powerful that always drew him a crowd, but he rarely left an event alone. He hadn't felt like being alone and his wolf was itching him to do something active since he'd had to keep the beast suppressed in the formal setting full of unknowing human strangers. No one in the Supernatural community wanted humans to discover the world that secretly coexisted with their own.
One night was all he ever gave his bedmates despite many hoping to be the one to lay claim to his heart. But truth was Faolan wasn't sure there was enough room in his heart for anyone who wasn't his immediate family or part of his pack. And honestly there were several members of his pack he could really care less about. His brother and niece were the only two that held any real sway over his heart. And he always made sure his companion knew the score before he took them into his bed. The last thing he wanted was a woman complicating his already busy life with talks of feeling and constant drama.
So that's what he had been looking for in the group of woman that were sticking close to him. Someone to share a night with who wouldn't become an entanglement on his pack or his life. When Isabel had come forward a shy smile on her face to seek him out he decided that she would do for the night. That had been his biggest mistake. Not that the night spent with her hadn't been good, but his wolf was still restless in the morning and so he had left the woman's bed and home without waking her. He had thought that was the end of Isabel and his story. However the next few days proved otherwise.
Isabel had flipped a switch and her crazy seemed to tumble out. She called and texted him obsessively despite the fact that he had never given her his number. When he ignored her the messages went from clingy to angry to whiny. And he didn't know how she did it but he could seem to block her number.even the Tech guys at the office were baffled by the inability to block her number. He should have known the she was more then just a mere human. But he hadn't. The thought she was a witch hadn't even crossed his mind to be honest. He hadn't ever spent much time around witches and so he wasn't familiar with the scent that was their magic. Shapeshifters like him rarely turned to witches and witches generally thought they were too good mingle with his kind.
She then began to pop up wherever he was. And he meant that literally. One minute she wasn't there and the next he'd blink and there she would be. It was then he knew she was wasn't human and yet his pride said that he didn't need help dealing with the woman. Him and his beast would be able to stave off any attack she might make. Or so he thought. But the truth was she had caught him unaware with some magical powder that knocked him unconscious. When he had a open up he was inside a circle in some park and she had cast her curse. "With a heart so black she would keep it until a true love could claim it back." The words had seared his flesh and soul and he felt his wolf get locked inside himself and felt his very will be taken. Isabel had laughed at Faolan then. Telling him how her curse had made him her slave to do with what she wanted and only what she wanted. Which was why instead of being in the office running his company he was here at some pricy flower shop to personally pick out flowers for the witch who was his puppet master.
His hate for witches grew with every task she forced him to do. His wolf the proud creature smattered and clawed at the invisible
Chains that kept it trapped under his skin. He was feeling the distance and loss of connection with his wolf when he looked up hoping to get this meaningless task over with as quickly as possible so that the witch might let him get some real work done at the company.
He hadn't expected to be captivated by the most beautiful pair of green eyes he had ever seen. He felt his breathe catch and his lips parted slightly and he felt a slight stir in his chest before the emotionless mask he had been forced into fell back into place once more. It did not however keep
Him from taking in the rest or the woman before him. She was short at just over five feet tall with a willowy build. Her ice blond hair tumbled down her shoulders and just above her waist in natural waves. As he walked closer he breathed in her scent. She smelled of damp earth and herbs. She looked at him with wide caring eyes that seemed to search for answers in his very soul. She took a breath and he saw a shocked and slightly disgusted expression flicker across her face before she straightened and looked at him determination radiating from the tips of her toes all the way up her spine.
"How can I help you?" She asked her voice rich and warm with a slight huskiness to it that he found pleasant to his ears.
