Chapter 14 - 14. Second Year Lessons

Once I had returned to my home base, known as Wizards Cave #1, or simply just wizards cave, I found myself with just two days left u til the new year, which felt like just enough time to unwind and relax from the train trip.

The first day, besides my daily and nightly training, I just relaxed, and browsed some books randomly. The second day after my morning training, I placed all the needed books for my second year lessons in a neat pile, then I went outside for a walk, using the secret entrance and exit in the garden shed.

When I was walking, I was actually floating, by levitsting myself, and I had Klaw, my house elf, make use both invisible. I enjoyed floating freely in the air. but a part of me missed walking, so I decided to walk until I felt physically tired in my little baby legs. Then I levitated myself back up in the air, which I was now able to float a whole foot off the ground, and silently floated my way back to home base.

When I arrived, it was mid-day, I took a few hours to relax from my walk, then later found myself with the urge to fly once again, so I made my way outside once more, with my broom.

Using the garden shed one more time I went to a clearing, and I rode my broom for the rest of the day, it felt great, even better than riding a four-wheeler in my past life.

I then returned to my wizard cave through the garden shed, and did my nightly training, then went to sleep nornally.

The next day I woke up refreshed and ready to start the new year with new magic.

After completing my morning training, I then went to the neatly stacked pile of books I had prepared just for this occasion. Soon I found myself comfortably reclining in a chair with the first book in my second year lesson plan.

Now I had a few spells to learn and knowledge and theory to learn in other fields of magic.

Unluckily, the other day when I was doing some random reading, I found out that the first year spell book I was using was an old copy from Potter Castle and was either a missprinted version or altered by someone.

Luckily there was also a correct version of the book written, with the complete list of all first year spells, which were not in the previous missprinted copy. Which means I did not fully learn all the first year spells, last year.

So I was in for cramming the spells I missed into my second year lessons. Yet I had taken 6 months to build some steam engine's last year, so I was pretty certain, that if I did not have any side projects this year, I would be able to finish it all in time.

The first year spells that were not learned were fifteen spells. The first group of five were the softening charm, severing charm, locking spell, mending charm, and a small fire making spell. These were the first five I would be practicing and learning.

The remaining ten spells would also be split into two more groups of five, to learn separately with other lessons in between, so as to not cram it all in my head at once, I could do that, but I prefer learning things in my own way.

The second group of five spells were coloromuto, which changes an object's colour, creo igniculus, that causes different coloured sparks to shoot out of your wand, but I would obviously be using my hand or fingers. The remaining three spells were flagrate which creates fiery marks in the wake of a wand, hand, or finger. It can be used to leave markings, or to write on objects or in the air, such as to write your name, or for art.

Avis, which launches small birds from your wand, which again would be using my hand or finger, and the last spell of the second group of five was creobulla that causes golden bubbles to flow out of your wand, which would be cast without a wand, obviously.

The third and last group of five spells were the four-point spell, which worked when the command 'point me' was said, in any language, the caster is able to discern the true cardinal directions.

The packing charm which was much the same as when the command 'pack' was said in any language, or cast in a nonverbal way, packs luggage at the direction of the caster, generally directed with the wand, but could be used in more ways than one.

The next spell was gravitas penna which causes static objects to become light as a feather.

Next orchideous was a spell that causes a bouquet of flowers to come out of your wand, but could be used to make flowers appear anywhere.

Saving the best for last the disarming charm which is cast in latin as expelliarmus, it causes the target's wand to fly from their hand.

With sufficient power behind it, a disarming charm may throw a victim back forcefully. Disarming charms are mutually off-setting - when cast against each other, they generally deflect. The Disarming Charm is also an effective counter to many spells.

The second year classes were one again charms, transfiguration, potions, history of magic, astronomy, herbology, and defense against the dark arts, just with more material better suited to learn for second year students.

The second year spells were another twenty five spells to learn.

The first of the new spells to learn was the knockback jinx which is cast as flipendo. This jinx is the most utilitarian of a second year spell, in that it will allow the caster to 'knock back' an opponent or object and can also be used to push and activate certain magically charmed switches. Like many second year spells, flipendo can be targeted.

The second spell which is a transfiguration spell such as avifors, which will transform small inanimate objects into birds, which can be both rewarding and useful. It is much like the avis spell but instead of creating birds from simple magical constructs, this spell transfigures instead.

The third is a jinx known as the the dancing feet spell cast as tarantallegra which is a spell that makes the target's legs spasm wildly out of control, making it appear as though they were dancing. It works on both living and inanimate targets, so long as it had legs. It was mainly used to humiliate a victim, but it could be also be used in duelling.

The fourth, the freezing charm, immobulus is a charm which immobilises and stops the actions of the target. With the use of this charm, the movement of living or animated targets is stopped, and the functioning of objects such as non magical burglar alarms is halted.

The fifth is which is cast as aurum flamma and it produces a spurt of golden fire capable of breaking simple targets.

The sixth is cadomolleo also knows as the Cushioning Charm.

The seventh is corpus leviosa which is the body levitation charm.

The eighth is formicatio rubens that causes the victim's face to erupt into hives.

The ninth is....nevermind I thought, screw this Hogwarts education is trap, I'll be able to easily pick this up while going there. Plus I had a better idea.

I was going to learn magic my way, the only thing stopping me was this stupid baby body, so I decided, to teach myself to astral project, that way I will have an astral body, which is undetectable to most people.

I decided to skip any and all complicated steps and only rely on four things for my magic in the future, my will, magic power, my mind, and visualization. I might discover better or alternate ways, but right now these four things would be the pillar of my magic system.

So I visualized an exact replica of my body, which was made of light and energy leaving my body, only barely connected to a thin unbreakable string, that was as small as an atom, basically invisible to the naked eye.

As I visualized, I then focused my mind, magic, and my will into this image and willed it to be.

The next thing I know, I'm floating above my body looking down on it, seeing myself, it worked!

Excited I began to expirement, with what I could do, I could not touch anything yet, but I could interact with the world through my mind and magic, through things like spells and telekinesis. I then floated around to see if I had a limit of distance I could go from my body.

I soon found the limit, luckily it was pretty far from my body, I just had to find a way to increase it later, if I could.

I then returned to my body, for I had a new idea to try, I visualized myself astral projecting once again, but instead of my baby body, I imagined myself as an adult. I soon found myself once again in my astral form, raising my hand to my astral eyes, I found a full grown adult sized hand, I was ecstatic!

No longer would I be stuck in a small child's body for twenty four hours everyday, know when I felt stifled or any other negative emotion due to the limits of my physical body, I could astral project as an adult.

Soon, I also found out, as an astral projection, since I was basically weightless, when I levitated myself, I could go much higher and faster, it was basically a limited version of flying, and it felt great. I soon found myself flying upwards through dirt and rock, through the Dursley's house, and into the sky were a found myself spending a couple hours just flying through the sky once again, now without a broom.

I honestly think I could never get tired of flying it was such an amazing feeling.

After hours of flying I then went back to my body, did my daily training, and then went to sleep normally.

For tomorrow, I would need to find my own way of learning magic.
