Chapter 3 - 3. Year Zero, The First Half

Shortly after completing my mental stats page, I decided to do the thing I wanted the most after discovering I was in the Harry Potter World, Magic!

Looking around, I found myself alone in my crib, then I visualized a small ball of light slowly growing brighter until it formed a small sphere of light in the palm of my hand. Much as I would have liked to do it on my first try, it unfortunately took many tries until I succeeded, with the smallest spark of light appearing in the palm of my hand. It was so small I thought I might have imagined it, but before I could ponder if the situation was real or not, or to try again, I felt a wave of exhaustion pass over me as I slipped into a deep sleep.

The next time I awoke, I found myself once again alone, thankfully. Wondering if I actually did magic I concentrated on my hand and once again said in my mind 'Lumos' and a small sphere of light did appear. Ecstatic on actually doing magic, my mind was flooded with the future possibilities, but I soon calmed down for that was all they were possibilities, for as I was now I could barely create a small ball of light.

I visualized the light going out and it did, and now without the constant need to focus on the spell, I felt a dip in my energy, not as bad as before when I fell asleep, but I did feel like I had just done a strenuous task.

This was going to be a problem, for as I was in the body of a baby, my stamina was practically non-existent, but as what just had happened, it actually proved that magic was like a physical muscle, the more it was used, the faster it grew.

I also pondered why it was so difficult to do magic if I was able to use my willpower to survive after death. Coming up with several theory's, I Realized it would be a long time until I could prove or even dissprove them.

My first theory being as a newborn it was more difficult to do magic, plus this is a new body, it might take some getting used too.

My second theory was Magic took more than just, Will, intent, visualization, and magic power, but what that was I had no way of knowing.

My third theory was that as this was a different universe, the universal laws were different, in a way that were much more strict. As Earth had no magic, it was basically impossible to break the laws of the universe, but in this universe which had magic, anything was possible.

During the many years of wizards breaking the known, and unknown laws of the world, it had allowed the laws to grow even stronger, to become much more stable than they were.

This still didn't explain Magic in this universe, because either it came from somewhere else, or it was part of the universal laws itself, which was even more confusing. A universal law that allowed you to bend and break other laws, or any other thousands of theory's, such as Magic being a tool of the gods they left behind, or human wizards were the next step of evolution, or a certain mutation caused magic, the theory's were endless.

All the theory's I came up with could not be proven or unproven, until I was much stronger. So for now I put all my unanswered thoughts and questions to the side.

I got back to casting the Lumos spell a couple more times until I was exhausted once more, then I went to sleep.

As I awake, I was greeted with the face of my parents, after a long grueling amount of time where they fed me, changed me, and bathed me, and baby-talked at me, I finally found my self alone in my crib once more.

I checked if my surroundings were empty, they were, and once again practiced my magic.

At the end of the first week I was able to Cast the Lumos spell as many times as I wanted. The end of the second week I was able to constantly cast and maintain the Lumos spell safely hidden, from prying eyes, within the palm of my hand, in the shape of a fist, for an entire day.

My Magic strength had grown quite a bit, my bodily strength not as much. I was able to stay awake an entire day finally, and I was able to move around a bit easily, but I could still not crawl, my body was weak.

A couple months passed and I focused on the summoning spell, Accio, the levitating spell Wingardum Leviosa, and the unlocking spell Alohamora. I was able to summon thing from across the room, levitate things, and unlock my crib. I was able to do these spells so easily because of my massive 3 points in willpower, but still compared to adult wizards this was nothing.

During those months I also Learned the name of one of our house-elves by eavesdropping, the elves name was Bitsy.

It had been three months since I was born and I had managed to learn 4 spells, I thought about learning stupify and the wand disarming spell, but I knew the first person I would face, those spells would be worthless.

So instead of only practicing Occulemency, a little each day, like I had done the past three months I decided to focus full time on forming Occulemency Shields, and Sorting the less pleasant memory into a deep dark underground vault in my mind.

It had only taken me a couple days to hide the unpleasant memories of my past and current life away, they were hidden and locked away, and they would never find themselves onto the surface of my mind or thoughts, but if I ever needed them I just had to delve into the deepest parts of my mind.

It took me the rest of the month to mold my mindscape into a basic spherical planet, and I then shrunk it to the size of a marble, and put it in a sea of marbles that were in the shape of a small rotating galaxy, which I placed in a glass cases, within a large castle that resembled the Potter Castle. Which I then decorated with a bunch of stuff, some important and others not.

It took two more months to get my shields around my mind, I was able to make them barely appear at first, but as I was training by myself, it took much longer to reinforce my shields until they were much sturdier. Even if I had someone to practice with, I would not, for my mind and it's secrets are my own.

I was pretty sure Voldermort, would just try to kill my parents and me, without putting to much thought or caution into it, since he felt himself much stronger than us, but if he tried to invade the mind of a baby potter I was prepared. My mindscape resembled Potter Castle that was turned into a funhouse for children and clowns. There were a few normal looking rooms and items, but it would take ages to find my true mindspace, if ever.

I had been born in this world for six months now, and finally I could crawl!

I thought myself prepared as much as I could be, but I would still train as much as I could in the remaining six months until Voldermort's attack.
