This is where I will be adding information about the world as the story progresses. Some stuff might be changed along the way, somethings because of me not wanting to spoil stuff and some simply because not everything is set in stone quite yet. So without further ado some world building info.
Background information
The world uses a ranking system going from 0 β 9.
0 is the starting point for most of the civilized races, being a rank 0 in short means that a person's "road" hasn't been chosen yet. However, a person's road is restricted to some degree because of their starting location. For instance, a very muscular man but with low "mana" capacity and no affinity might find it next to impossible to become a rank 1 apprentice. This is because when moving up a rank and a new moniker is given a person's physical body, personality, experience and to a small degree choice matter.
A person who is strong might subconsciously favour the use of brute force or place trust in strength, simply because the person in itself has been well endowed with it thus making it an advantage that they often make use of. At the same time, someone muscular that almost never uses its own strength and instead favours wit, guile or some other way might find themselves not becoming a rank 1 fighter.
General known starting points (rank 1).
Fighter β Fighter is generally the first rank any physical based class takes on, after the first rank however in general it is one of the most diverse classes next to the working class since it can include anything from a spearman to a bowman.
Apprentice β Normally when someone holds a strong will and soul they can become an apprentice, usually an affinity of sorts is also needed but even if one is not born with an affinity it can either be cultivated through effort or gained with luck or wealth.
Worker β The working class of any kingdom, country, city state etc. This is a general denotation that includes anything from a farmer to a merchant. They have no fixed system for how to progress and it is very rare to see anyone go beyond rank 2 in their whole lives, anyone reaching rank 4 or 5 are often treasured greatly by the government or ruling class of a nation.
Devotee β Someone who has devoted themselves to a god or goddess becomes a Devotee upon reaching rank 1. The Devotee is thereafter unable to choose their own development but at the same time have no need for a system on how to progress since the god or goddess of their choice will take care of it and their progress will almost entirely be linear from rank 1 and onwards. For instance, if a person dedicates themselves to Alchema who handles the portfolio of Order and Light they could become either a deacon or a squire upon reaching rank 2 depending on their inherent talents and disposition.
The deacon for instance would then progress along the way of
Devotee --> Deacon --> Archdeacon --> Priest --> Bishop --> Archbishop --> Cardinal --> Patriarch/Matriarch --> Divine.
While a squire would go like this.
Devotee --> Squire --> Knight --> Knight-Captain --> Knight-Commander --> Guardian --> Templar --> Paladin --> Justicar
Outside of these there are many other not generally known starting points and some that are simply frowned upon.
