Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: You Have One New Message

I maneuvered my mouse to the taskbar and clicked on the only other application that was up. I wonder if the person from the video is still alive? As I wondered this I subconsciously read the message which was now on the screen.

{Be careful} That's it? That's all it says? As a wave of confusion hit me, I leaned back in my chair. There's clearly a bigger mystery at large... Well, not much I can do... I stood up as I analyzed the room again, trying to become familiar with it. I looked at the chair, its red upholstery patterned with different shades.

The bed has a nice red comforter and eggshell white sheets. The pillow is the same color as the sheets and looks extraordinarily soft. I walked to the fireplace and looked at the dust which filled the inside. The chimney is filled with dust stuck to the sides.

As I looked at the rest of the room I noticed that there was dust everywhere, it's a miracle I haven't sneezed yet. I walked back to the computer then sat in the chair. I got ready to type. {Who are you?} I asked. I waited for a response, but I never got one. I waited for a few more moments, then left the chair.

I looked at my hands and noticed that dust had stuck to the tips of my fingers, though I really didn't care. I'm still terrified... Those eyes... Who's were they? I continued to question myself as I went back up to my stage. It's only been ten minutes, I doubt anyone noticed I was gone...

As I went up the staircase a sense of uneasiness hit me for the third time this hour. I tried to ignore it as best I could and continued. as I stood on my stage I closed the hidden passageway, ensuring the string was still accessible, though hidden.

"Hey, Foxy... What was that?" A voice asked from behind me. I turned around and saw Puppet looking at me. His expressionless mask, well, expressionless isn't quite right, it's a smiley face, the red blush is shining and the tear streaks are as matte as ever.

Why does it have tear streaks? I wonder... "What was what?" I asked in response.

"That thing you just closed." Puppet said as he pointed with his slender finger.

"I didn't close anything." I stated though it was a lie I knew Puppet would see-through. Puppet is quite perceptive... But I also know he knows more than I do, but how much?

"Don't lie to me Foxy, I just saw you close something." Puppet said with a slight sternness in his otherwise light tone.

"Oh! It was just my curtains!" I said loudly as I moved my curtains a bit, patting them down and such.

"But it was on your floor." Puppet said. It almost sounded like he was holding back a laugh that time... Was he laughing at me? I mean, I guess that's fine, I am acting strange...

"Ah, no no, I was replacing a plank that had broken with another one I found, that's it!" I said while avoiding eye contact.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense, but where'd you find the board, I could use a few..." Puppet said. Crap... Caught in a spider's web immediately...

"Oh, I just kind of found it laying around, no one was using it and it was all alone, so I figured it must've been luck, sorry..." I said. I laughed nervously a bit towards the end, but that's fine, right?

"Darn... Well, thanks anyway! Oh! That's right! I need your help, Foxy!" Puppet said.

"What for?" I asked with a hint of suspiciousness in my tone.

"Freddy." He said. He didn't have to say anything else after that, I already knew what was going on. Huh... I guess my memories are returning naturally... I followed Puppet to the main room, which was already dimmed due to nightfall.

"No Ballora! I need those chemicals to blow up the vent covers so I can search for Bonbon! It's weird having my hand exposed like this!" Freddy said loudly as I entered the room.

"Freddy, Freddy!" I said as I walked between Freddy and Ballora who were both standing in the center of the room. "You can open the vents without blowing them up." I said as my sense of uneasiness expanded.

"Well, I can't fit in them if I don't blow them up!" Freddy exclaimed in an attempt to recover his side of the argument.

"If you can't fit in the vent in the first place, then why would blowing up the cover help?" I asked.

"Well..." Freddy said as he began t think a bit. Finally, he is using his... Brain...? Motherboard...? Whatever... "Ballora! Give me my explosive chemicals!" Freddy yelled. I was ignored... Again...

"No! I already hid them!" Ballora said as she moved the bag of what I presume to be the chemicals behind her back.

"What? Where? I need them!" Freddy responded. His stupidity never ceases to amaze me... And everyone else... Then again... Both of these two are pretty dumb...

"Ballora, bring Freddy to where you hid them and leave him in that room." I said, of course, I knew she had them behind her back.

"Wha-!? Why do I have to do that!? I got them fair and square!" Ballora yelled. She already forgot she has them behind her back... These two are a han- no... Eight handfuls... I looked at Puppet, and after a few moments, he figured out what I was trying to say.

"Ballora, Foxy is right, take him to your hiding spot, you know, the party room?" Puppet said as a question. Ballora looked at Puppet.

"But Puppet, my hiding spot is for me only!" She yelled. She doesn't even hide things there, she hides things in her room... Puppet just looked at her. Eventually, Ballora realized what we were doing. Thank goodness, she has hope! "Ugh... Fine!" She said angrily. Maybe not? I hope that was acting...
