"come on get up Luna it's your first day you don't want to be late do you," my mom screams from the kitchen.
I roll over to my side and look at my alarm clock "6:15". I roll my eyes and get up. "it's still early schools not for another hour," I scream while getting dressed in a blue top and black Jean's. I make some paper cat ears; I've worn paper cat ears for a year now let's just say it's my way of standing out; that say new school on one, new me on the other. I brush my long black hair before putting them on with clips and I put my contacts in my multicolored eyes; left's blue, right's brown.
When I get to the kitchen my mom puts pancakes on the table and tells me to eat, but I shake my head and say, "no thank you, I just brushed my teeth."
"Come on Luna you need to eat more your 13 and you weigh 89 pounds that is not healthy so eat," my mom says with a sigh.
I roll my eyes and think to myself, "your the reason I dont eat."
"I'm fine, you know I dont like breakfast foods," I say to her faking a smile.
"Luna it's time to go," my dad calls from the garage.
"Coming," I say grabbing my bag and walking towards the door.
After the drive there my dad turns to me and says, "hey good luck, I know your scared but you'll make friends in no time."
I force that same fake smile and say, "I know I've done it before I can do it again."
I get out of the car and go inside seeing all these kids talking to each other, but what did I expect its January just back from winter break of course everyone has friends already also with it being 8th grade in a small town I'm an outsider to them. I walk further in heading towards the office and people just stare at me.
"You must be Luna," the consolers say to me the moment I walk in.
"Uh yes ma'am," I reply trying to hide the fact that I'm shaking.
She hands me a map and a schedule then calls in a student. "This is John he will show you around and if you have any questions just ask," she tells me.
John is tall with black hair and bright blue eyes he comes over to me with a big smile and shakes me hand saying, "Hi, what is your first period we'll start there."
"first victim," I think to myself and smile.
"Uh choir," I say out loud.
We spend the first hour of school going to all my classes meeting my teachers and him showing me where the cafeteria is, where the nurse office is, and things like that. We also talked about my cat ears and my eyes; things I'm used to by now; but before he left I did get his number for if I had any questions about the school and how things worked.
After school my mom came and picked me up. "How was your first day sweetie," she says as I climb in the car.
"Alright meet a cute boy named John," I say with a smirk.
all the way home my mom complains about everything under the sun me, my dad, my brother bla bla bla, intil we finally get home and I go hide in my room. I debat on texting John, but decide not to look desperate. Tomorrow is another day.
