Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4. BOGUS AFFECTION

I woke up in the morning only to find an empty bed. After showering my guilt away, I got ready for having breakfast and going to work. The moment I reached the dining table, Seth removed his gaze from the table and noticed my arrival at the scene. Why did he still not leave? He sat right beside me and acted as if we were two people in love. The advent of this moment of non existent superficial love made me the most uncomfortable. He showered me with bogus affection and tenderness. Though it was a deed done for making my parents acquire trust in my sham marriage, it delighted them as they were unaware of the reality.

My mother, Jen, was a cordial woman. She always treated Seth as her own son. My father, Robert Shay was a COO(Chief Operating Officer) in Seth's company. He always regarded Seth as the son he never had. He always held a conviction that Seth was an honest and caring man and never believed anyone who said otherwise. What could be so severe to cause Seth to stray from the virtuous path and betray the very people who confided in him when no one else did. After finishing my breakfast, I shifted my attention to Seth who seemed to be connoting something. He suggested that I should stay with him in his house as we were married :

"I think it's time for me to take 'Mon Coeur' back with me. It was wonderful to stay here. But I think my lovely wife and I should go back to our home now".

"I wonder if I could stay here for a week at least", I exclaimed hoping to stay behind. As it was trying and hurting to deal with him and his plottings.

"My dear wife, It would be very saddening to inform you that due to my busy schedule, I will be needing my wife at home", he instructed by tightly clenching my wrist beneath the table.

As we began to go back to his mansion, he started being indifferent again. That man was so capricious that it was challenging to keep up with his perceptions on various things. We went inside the car in order to ride back to the mansion.

"Kitten's got claws, Did you think I will let you stay  behind and ruin my plans?", exclaimed the aloof man looking in my eyes.

"I will not let you succeed. You are a dissoluted man with no shame and care of the world. God will sufficiently punish you", I exclaimed by glaring right back in his atrocious eyes. He smirked like a madman. His smile kept widening on our way back to the mansion. Who knew what cruelty that man was capable of?

The moment we arrived in the mansion, I saw a few people waiting outside the mansion to welcome us. Seth's Mother, Cherise who was a designer was there and his Uncle, Cale was also present at that moment. Watching her mother's face, I remembered  the night of the wedding when Seth was drunk and I saw 'his conversation' with his mother on his phone, where he revealed his plot to bring catastrophe to my family. We got out and were attended by the people standing there. His mother neared me and I felt a certain discomfort in my heart. She was an exquisite woman who delighted in blustering the achievements of her son and herself.

"It has been quite an unusual long time since we met. I would like to apologize for my absence in your marriage, dear. But it doesn't matter much since you did get married to my handsome and zealous son", declared the unfathomable woman.

Seth's uncle was a quiet man. He usually kept a distance from all the social gatherings. That is why, it was quite unusual to find him waiting for us. We were led to our bedroom by the maids. I couldn't  go to work even today because of this domineering evil man. I took the leave and scheduled the work for tomorrow. I was the professor of philosophy in the same college where Seth and I both met for the very first time. Looking back at the memories and instances, I could only feel anguish. He left for his work. He kissed me goodbye and left with pretense . The whole day went by arranging my stuff in that room and preparing things for the dinner. Though it wasn't necessary for me to cook, I was delighted in doing so. After the dinner, Cherise and Cale discussed how divorce is considered a sin in their family. I generated a vague idea about their arrival and understood the meaning of the conversation which was enforced on me. "Dear, Getting married is like trading the adoration of many, for the sarcasm of one. Seth might seem a bit aloof at times but you know he only loves you", said Cherise. I nodded in hope for the conversation to end sooner. After giving me a whole lecture on the holiness of marriage, She and Cale finally left. I went back to my room. It was 10 o'clock and I received  a message : "Take care my dear wife, I will be coming back to you shortly". It was Seth. Why did he text me in the night while ignoring me throughout the day? That unfilial man made it impossible for a normal being to fathom his behaviour. I couldn't sleep all night, trying to reason with my heart. This irrelevant heart clenched to any hope of affection that could be presented by the beloved.

I heard his steps making his way up to the stairs. He is supposed to be my nemesis who is trying to bring harm to my family. He is a man capable of heinous behaviour but my heart just couldn't pave the way for the dissolution of this unfathomable relationship. I welcomed him in my arms and kissed his piquant lips. I dragged him by holding his waist to the bed. I planted small kisses on his forehead and cheeks. I gripped his curly hairs with my right hand and bit his lips. He was excited and ended up panting. Knowing him for the dog he was, I treated him like one too. I unbuttoned his shirt and packed kisses on his neck too. I hated him but his perfect body kept making me obliterate his heinous side. He appeared very gentle lying on the bed. His eyes looked so pure, incapable of any wrongdoing. He mumbled, "I want you".

I glared deep in his eyes and said, "You are nothing but an object for relieving me off my desires. Don't overestimate your existence", I exclaimed with a proud voice. His eyes were clueless and he wondered what I meant.
