<3rd POV>
Hikaru who was now dismissed, was then told by his old man that he was supposed to attend the student ceremony at Onslaught Academy. Where people who have awakened Cords study.
According to old man Garou, Onslaught Academy has six divisions namely:
Heros Division
- Division for those who have close quarter combat Cords. Mostly in the frontlines.
Mutany Division
- Division for those who have support type Cords. Mostly at the back.
Kein Division
- Division for those who have scout and information gathering type Cords. Mostly found in depth of the enemy lines.
Battalios Division
- Division for those who have an all-rounder type Cords. Mostly a separate special ops who deals with enemy elites or other.
Pulser Division
- Division for those who have very long ranged type Cords. Mostly at the back supporting heavy firepower.
Fiery Division
- Division for those who have range type Cords that can attack in the front and back lines. Mostly found mid center of the army.
As for Hikaru's section, he was determined to be at the Battalios Division. The reason for that is because they still can't figure out how his Cord works other than manipulate Cord Particles, that's why he was assigned there. Battalios might sound like the namesake of the Cord Battalion Onslaught, it's not actually related to each other. Most of the times, those who are at that division is always isolated from the other division. Jealousy runs through the other division causing such drift between them.
Hikaru of course doesn't know anything about the rift between the divisions, right now, he is currently heading to his lodgings. Complaining along the way.
"Why is the ceremony so goddamn boring, I thought it would at least exciting. But fuck exciting, it's just outright boring!" He cursed as he drag his tired body through the empty hallways of the academy.
"You! How dare you slander the prestige of this academy!" He was then stopped by an angry feminine voice behind him. He turned around and saw no one.
"I must be imagining things." He scratched his cheek and sighed.
"I'm down here you mongrel!" Hikaru let out a shriek as he jumped backwards and stared at a loli wearing a thin yellow scarf. Her eyes is also very unique in a sense, having a pair of eyes that seem to be grayish silver. Her midnight black hair also reaches down to her shoulder, and from the chest department. Looks like someone isn't blessed by the heavens.
"Why is there a child doing all the way here?!" He asked out loud, hoping someone to answer him.
"I am not a child! I am 18, okay?!" The loli then pointed at him angrily with a pout painting her lips.
"I am not convinced." Hikaru said and crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Youuu!!!" The loli gritted her teeth and growled threathingly at Hikaru, who only thought about how cute it looks like.
"Alright, alright I believe you. Now what were you saying earlier?" Hikaru raised his hands in defeat and questioned as he started to walk around looking for his room. The loli on the other hand followed him like a puppy who has found it's owner. Which greatly annoyed him
"I was saying, that you should stop slandering the academy's name!" She angrily huffed at Hikaru as he stopped, which cause her to bump into him.
"Hey! What's the big id--hmmf!" Hikaru stopped him by placing a finger inside her mouth accidentally. The loli's eyes widened like a saucer as she stared at the finger inside her mouth, she cannot help but unconsiously lick it.
"Ah! What the hell?!" Hikaru pulled it out and saw the saliva dripping from it. He made a digusted face and looked the loli in horror.
"Why would you lick my finger?!" The loli's eyebrow twitched as she bared her teeth at Hikaru.
"I wanted to bite it off but you pulled out too fast." The loli said seriously, as she looked at his finger dangerously. This gave Hikaru a fright and unlocked the door behind him fast and went inside fast. Before the loli could react, the door was slammed shut in front of her.
"Argh!! I'm gonna kill you! I'm Saji Seki, remember your killer's name!" The now named Saji angrily shouted and walked away angrily as well.
Meanwhile, Hikaru who was pressing his back at the door, sighed out in relief, he then smiled and muttered.
"You just want an excuse to introduce your name, tsundere I see." Just as he was about to continue his musings, he heard the sound of breathing just a few meters away from him.
"Eh?" He looked up and was stunned at what he saw. Just a few meters away from him is a bunker bed, no one's at the top, but there is someone on the lower bed. White messy hair is littered around the pillow, a pale face like his, cute little nose, pinkish lips. And the two most eye catching detail is a white fox tail that is hanging on the side and the pair of white fox ears just on top of her head.
"Beautiful..." He muttered without thinking and stood up. He saw that the girl was about to wake up so, he tidied himself properly.
"Uwahhh..." The fox girl stretched out and got up groggily. She then rubbed her eyes and saw a sillhoutte at the corner of her eyes. She was surprised and whipped her head towards Hikaru and saw his pair of heterochromia eyes. A glittering golden eye and a noble royal violet eye staring right at her.
"Who are you?" She said to Hikaru, while tilting her head and her tone containing some drowsiness in it.
"Ah, I'm Maou Hikaru, nice to meet you?" Hikaru hurriedly bowed and introduced himself and looked towards her eagerly. Taken aback by the sudden eagerness, she was now fully awake.
"I'm Lily, Lily Whiteheart, nice to meet you Maou." Lily introduced and saw Hikaru literally cringing at what she called him. Curious and a bit guilty, she asked him.
"What's wrong?" Hikaru hurriedly shook his head.
"Ah it's nothing, I just don't prefer for people to call me by that name. Just call me Hikaru." He explained and scratched his head embarrassingly. Lily giggled at his sudden action, which cause him to blush a little.
"I'm sorry, I can't help it. I'll call you Hikaru from now on then." Lily smiled at Hikaru that caused him to smile as well.
"Yeah, and I guess I'll call you Lily then." She nodded.
"So you are a new student?" Lily asked, in which Hikaru nodded and explained him his circumstances. Lily felt a bit curious about what happened to him, but didn't pushed further on.
"I see, looks like you're in luck. I'm in the same division as you, this way I can explain to you everything I know about Battalios Division. Oh right, what's your Cord again?" Lily nodded her head sagely, which translated into cuteness in Hikaru's mind. He tossed away those thoughts as fast as it came.
"Cord Manipulation from what I did so far, and I knew through doing it on my own. And kinda receive information about it suddenly? The machine that is supposed to analyse it malfunction whenever it tried to analyse my Cord." He said to her while taking a sit by a chair on the corner of the room.
"That's weird enough, I wonder why that is. Anyway! I know you'll figure it out just fine, so why don't I tour you around the academy? You up for it? We don't have classes till next week, so maybe you can familiarize yourself around and know how your Cord actually do." She suggested as she poked her cheek with her finger, as if she thought of a bright idea.
"Yeah, that's a good idea." Hikaru nodded and saw a smile blossomed on her lips.
'I suppose this isn't so bad after all.' He thought as he looked through the window and saw the still blue skies.
