Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Waking to the sun was amazing. Now that she is rested and more aware of what is around her, she finds a small family of foxes curled into her chest. She spooks a little as a shadow covers the entrance only to see a bigger fox coming in whom she assumes is the mother of the pups. "I-I'm sorry I entered your den without asking but I really needed to escape." The fox just tilted her head and dropped a rabbit on the ground at the girls knees. "F-for me?" It ignores her to lay with the cubs. The girl uses her fingers to rip out the meat of the rabbit eating it even though it is raw. When she finished she relaxed against the den wall and slept again as her wings were still regrowing.

BAM! Out rang the sound of a gun having been healing and flying for about a month now the girl grabs her small family and flies looking for mother fox. She finds her wounded and scoops her up flying away deeper into the forest not realizing how far into the mountains she goes. Slowly sinking having only done few minute tests on higher altitudes. Finally she lands no longer hearing shots and walks further coming upon a cabin. "A building. I don't think this is safe," she states but mother fox and the kits are sniffing around and drawing closer to the wooded house. Smelling the air she smells cooking meat. Stepping closer to the cabin with her small family she notices the door is open and slips inside. Sitting in a rocking chair with a small plate of chicken is an elderly man looking sick and poorly with greying out hair. The girl keeps sneaking closer and closer till she reaches where she can steal chicken. She goes to snatch some when he isn't looking but her hand gets caught and she panics the foxes hiding. "What are you doing Keigo? You know better than to steal my chicken. You know to ask first," the man states. He looks like he is trapped in memories, eyes foggy. "C-can i have chicken?" Her voice sounds weak and raw from lack of use. The man places a few strips in her hand. "Make sure you feed those dogs too. I've kept their favorite meats for them," he goes back to nomming on his chicken peacefully and she tilts her head walking on all fours over to a cool metal box with handles. Opening one she finds meats of all kinds frozen. Grabbing a steak she goes over to the warm red flower the man sits by and thaws the meat to act like fresh kill. Taking it over to her fox family she looks at the chicken strips in her hand and decides staying here is best for winter is never good she learned.
