Zoe raised her hand to her mouth to muffle her sob as she looked down at her father's pale face. "Dad, You have to be fine and come back to us," Zoe whispered and leaned down to give him a peck on his forehead.
She turned to look at her mother, who was sitting on the chair beside the bed and holding his hand as tears trailed down her cheeks.
"He is going to be okay, right? They will both be fine," Zoe asked her mother for what was probably the twentieth time that day.
"Yes. All we have to do is pray and believe," Her mother said with a nod as she held out her hand to Zoe.
The doctor had allowed them both to stay with Chairman Jiang while he checked on Ann, so they were still waiting to hear from him.
They both turned around when the door was pushed open.
"Is she okay?" Mrs. Jiang asked immediately after the doctor walked through the door. She looked at him while expecting the worst but hoping for the best.
