Grace dreamed. She saw herself lying unconscious on a bed with different people around her. She could hear the voices in the darkness, they were all talking at the same time, and she kept hearing some beeping sounds that didn't make much sense to her.
"We are losing her!"
"No respiration, no pulse. Her heart rate is dropping!"
"Oh great! We've got a pulse now!"
"We've got to shave her head..."
"No, not my hair! Don't touch my hair!" Grace muttered in her sleep as she thrashed wildly on her bed, but it seemed no one could hear her.
"She is bleeding too much. We have to find another way to stop the blood..." Another voice called with all urgency.
Something was not right about any of this. Grace thought as she thrashed and sobbed loudly in her sleep and tried to convince herself that it was only a nightmare.
