My marriage cards were all sent out and everyone was happy. All my college friends came to know and of course everyone was shocked about my relation with James. Not to mention the most shocked person was Lily.
I was selected to attend IIT Bombay but I was still thinking about the answer during the marriage. I was in a garden sitting on a bench. She came and sat beside me and said "wow the future queen. wait am I still allowed to call your name or I have to call you your majesty?" and laughed. Lily was an expert in making me laugh and taking my mind off. I also smiled and said "Lily you are expert in everything. anyways what was your result?"
she smiled and said "IIT Bombay. I ranked 24 all India l."
"so are you attending it?"
"🤨🤨 of course who is so mad to not attend IIT bombay after getting it?"
before she could complete "I am 😣."
I could see her reaction suddenly changed "I didn't mean that Tara, I am sorry."
"no you are right even I feel I am mad not attending IIT when I got it."
"you know what that is in your hand."
"what?"
I had never seen her so serious she continued "you still have a choice during marriage."
"no.....I mean I do but.....I don't know yaar."
"I will show you your two options. Tomorrow either you 'I do' and become the queen or else..."
"wait!!!" I stopped her "I forgot to tell you something, I and James signed the deal that we will divorce after an year."
"now that makes your choice clearer either you say 'I do' and become the queen for an year and destroy your dreams and life OR you say 'I don't' and chase your dreams to become independent."
"but....."
"you know Tomorrow is the admission so I will book a flight ticket which will be right after you decide. I will book two tickets if you want to run with me you can come with me or I will leave you silently."
and she left after saying that. I don't know what I want tomorrow was my life changing decision.
Today was my marriage and you know how messed up I am and how I got into this mess. I was getting ready and wearing the most expensive bridal gown and undoubtedly looking gorgeous. I could see a lots of people sitting there. I was still not able to decide. my both the options seemed fairly good.
I mean being a queen is good but I will end up destroying my hard work for 2 years.
But I would end up giving up.... I don't know. now that I think I don't think I will loose anything if I run away.
A second ago I was there getting ready and now in no seconds I could see myself in front of James and being asked if I was ready to marry him. There has to be no difficulty in choosing as I know that running away was best option but the words came from my mouth was
"I DO"
and I saw Lily in the corner leaving silently.
I WAS MARRIED TO JAMES. I was the QUEEN OF RIVERVALLEY.
And the necklace on my neck was the proof.
