"Ok...so am I gonna be stuck here forever..?" Lyn said helplessly while sitting on the ground in a lotus position.
He looked around the huge hallway.
The huge hallway wasn't really that ancient and in ruins or something that was in an abandoned mining area in the first place, to begin with, in fact, it looked like it was just newly built and it seems that it was also consistently cleaned as there were no signs of dust and dirt that you would expect.
As he kept looking at the huge hallway in front of him, he pondered while staring blankly at the huge hallway. Slowly by slowly, he came to a realization that something was up.
Lyn was shocked.
After all, he never really looked at his surroundings earlier and just directly preceded his way. But after taking a look at his surroundings he noticed that there really was something suspicious in this place, especially because of earlier.
"Geez, I should have looked at my surroundings first in the beginning," Lyn said as he scratched his head.
"Welp, it can't be helped. It's all in the past now, so might as well start investigating this place!"
He stood up and patted his buttocks as he started to prepare to investigate the place.
First, he began investigating the space where he fell into, which was also the reason why he was stuck here in the first place.
"Hmm, there is nothing really weird here, though the interior of the hole is really smooth and in a circular design," Lyn said with his eyes narrowed slightly.
The space was about 30 to 50 feet long and it was also very narrow, just enough for one person to fall and fit into. It seemed and looked like it was a secret passage or something that needed a ladder and if it were a certain game then it would suffice to call it an elevator.
It was really very narrow and straight as the moment you fell into this place you would immediately see the huge hallway as no doors were blocking the view.
He looked up and saw the hole, which was supposed to be there, was now gone.
"Hm? Weird. I think it was there the last time I looked." Said Lyn as he doubted his memories.
Oh well, it doesn't really matter though.
So he continued looking for a while before going on to the next investigation.
The next area he investigated was, of course, the huge hallway. To be exact, it was the side of the huge hallway.
The huge hallway's both sides both have pillars to support the hallway or maybe just entirely for design but either way, both have achieved their purpose. There are also light orbs on each pillar, all occupying the sides of the pillars so that it was bright, maybe too bright. The designer of this place must have been afraid that there would be insufficient light as he sure did put plenty of light orbs.
Lyn then slowly looked around the huge hallway, touching here and there in hopes of triggering something. He wasn't in a hurry though, after all, it would just waste his energy if he still did not find anything even after hurrying. And so he took his time around the place and investigated really seriously.
He searched every nook and cranny he could find and reached and after one hour of meticulously doing that he still couldn't find it.
Though there was still one more area left to look at and this was also the last one that Lyn hoped to be.
So he started reaching out to the light orbs one by one and putting them back in their place again. He also shuffled them. After repeating that a couple of times, he gave up.
Not that he gave up because he was lazy but because he did all he could already and the huge hallway also seems to infinitely stretch but still remain the same place as where he was in the first place. He also shuffled them and also placed all the light orbs in a different order in different places, he also took some random light orbs in different patterns like a passcode but nothing seemed to work.
He lay down, feeling dispirited as he thought that all of his efforts were just wasted in vain.
"Sigh..." he sighed.
He looked at the ceiling of the huge hallway.
Then, he suddenly became lazy.
After laying down for a while just staring mindlessly at the ceiling, he got up and started collecting all the light orbs he could collect until it was all freaking dark and he was the only light source left. There was no explanation for why he was doing that.
His plan worked though.
In his hands and also on the ground beside him, was full of light orbs that he quietly collected after a long while. He then placed them in front of him by column and row. He then called forth his inventory and grabbed something from it. It was a stick from the loot he had gotten from one of the Kobolds earlier.
After getting the stick and fondling it a bit, he was satisfied, he then grabbed it with two hands as he prepared a stance that seemed like he was playing golf.
He breathed in and out, and finally, he shouted and hit the light orb in front of him with all his strength and anger infused in it.
"HAAAAA!!!"
The light orb flew in a straight line as it hit the space where he fell previously.
"Goal!" Lyn said, satisfied.
He then repeated it again and again until only one light orb was left.
"GAAHHHHH!!!!! TAKE THIS!!!!"
Lyn hit the last light orb with all his might as the light orb whooshed away into the distance and crashed into the multiple light orbs in the space.
After he did that, his surroundings were extremely dark with the only exception that the space was not. In fact, it was extremely blinding as heck.
And so he turned his back to it and moved forward.
As for why he moved forward, well why not?
He was just following his intuition.
After walking for a long time he saw light in the distance.
"...Wait light?" Lyn exclaimed.
He looked back only to see darkness with no light that the light orbs should be emitting in sight.
He then turned back again and saw the light.
He was not dreaming. But just in case, he slapped himself in the face and it hurt, so it was confirmed that it was not a dream.
His eyes teared up looking at the light ahead.
"Finally...Finally! I'm finally escaping this hellhole of a place!" Lyn shouted hysterically with joy that could be heard in his voice.
He then ran as fast as he could towards the light, nearing it little by little until he was out.
He was finally free!
