Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Why Fight with Me?

The Gun Knight, as he had used against those Holy Spirits before, threw his lance the moment the duel began.

All the Holy Spirits made some strange gestures when they entered the stage. The Gun Knight didn't know what they meant, but he knew it was an opportunity.

Many Holy Spirits were instantly killed by the Gun Knight while posing. After he had consecutively killed five or six Holy Spirits, the subsequent Holy Spirits became smarter, knowing to find an opportunity before casting their buffs.

Zhao Mingwei was different. He immediately made a half-praying gesture in front of his chest. The Gun Knight judged that he was posing too!

But Zhao Mingwei was not casting buffs with this move, he was casting Telekinesis Energy Shield!

A semi-transparent energy shield was released, centered on Zhao Mingwei. This skill could absorb a certain amount of damage and would shatter if it exceeded its capacity.

The lance thrown by the Gun Knight hit Zhao Mingwei's Telekinesis Energy Shield, shattering it into pieces. The Gun Knight's lance was also deflected high up into the air.

Zhao Mingwei took advantage of this opportunity to cast three core buffs for the Mind Energy Master.

Wind Breath!

Telekinesis Beast·Dragon Tiger Roar!

Telekinesis Energy Surrounding!

The three buffs were released within 1.5 seconds. At the same moment, the Gun Knight summoned his lance back and charged straight at Zhao Mingwei.

This was also a fatal move. Most Holy Spirits couldn't react in time and would be pierced through by the Gun Knight.

But Zhao Mingwei reacted. He twisted his foot and sidestepped with less than one centimeter of error, dodging the Gun Knight's stab…

Zhao Mingwei could have dodged further, but he turned not to dodge the attack, but to counter!

As the Gun Knight was about to adjust his stance to pursue, Zhao Mingwei kicked him directly.

This kick had a skill judgment, a side kick.

It's a common floating skill for Fighters. Zhao Mingwei's side kick was precise, kicking the weakest part of the Gun Knight's armor at the waist, making him float uncontrollably into the air.

As he floated up, he swung his lance for a sweep to easily break the floating state.

But Zhao Mingwei bowed his head, dodging the Gun Knight's sweep at the cost of his black hair being cut by the crimson lance. The next second, he launched a crushing punch, followed by a series of attacks imbued with Telekinesis Beast·Dragon Tiger Roar.

The virtual shadow of a dragon and tiger accompanied Zhao Mingwei's fists as they struck the Gun Knight's armor, emitting a piercing thunder sound. The Gun Knight felt like he had been hit by Thunder Magic. Though slightly paralyzed, it didn't hinder his movements.

After four continuous strikes, the Gun Knight adjusted his posture and used his lance to block Zhao Mingwei's fifth punch, then pushed the lance forward to create distance and break free from the floating state. But… Zhao Mingwei simultaneously landed a side kick on the Gun Knight's lance again.

The side kick hit the lance, and the Gun Knight felt a nauseating gravity force, throwing him even higher than before.

The Gun Knight changed his strategy. As he floated up, he thrust his lance into the ground to jump backward using the force.

He successfully escaped Zhao Mingwei's attack range, but as he landed, a face-sized Telekinesis Energy Wave hit him directly, covering his face.

The destructive telekinesis scattered across the Gun Knight's face, leaving his skin charred black. This thoroughly enraged him. His crimson lance emitted a dazzling light, shattering the ground, and a large number of magic-formed lances pierced towards Zhao Mingwei.

Zhao Mingwei sensed something moving on the ground and leaped into the air, but making him jump was exactly the Gun Knight's intention.

"Die!" The Gun Knight's crimson lance drew a red arc, piercing towards Zhao Mingwei in mid-air. He had no way to leverage anything mid-air, so this strike should've been unavoidable.

But to Zhao Mingwei, the incoming lance was a leverage point. A glow formed under his foot from telekinesis.

Hawk Step!

Zhao Mingwei had less than 0.1 seconds to react, but he accurately stepped onto the Gun Knight's incoming lance, with the system also giving a new judgment.

See Through!

The Gun Knight felt an immense weight far exceeding Zhao Mingwei's body pressing down on his hand, as if a giant mammoth were on the lance head. The enormous weight made the lance uncontrollably plunge into the ground.

The lance head stabbed into the ground, causing numerous cracks around it.

Zhao Mingwei also landed, but his foot was on the Gun Knight's lance shaft.

This scene made the Gun Knight feel humiliated; having his attack trampled down by the enemy was the epitome of disgrace.

In anger, the Gun Knight pulled his lance from the ground. Just as he was about to counterattack, Zhao Mingwei delivered another side kick to his body.

Gan ni niang!

As the Gun Knight floated in mid-air again, he suddenly recalled what the Holy Spirits he had previously slaughtered would say before being killed by him.

For the first time, he felt the spirits' special attacks were so disgustingly overpowered.

Though he shouted "Gan ni niang," Zhao Mingwei didn't hold back. His punches enhanced by Dragon Tiger Roar hit the gaps in the Gun Knight's armor, sending telekinesis energy into the Gun Knight's body, making him feel like he was about to explode.

The Gun Knight reused his trick, stabbing his lance into the ground to escape the floating state. But Zhao Mingwei anticipated this. Within 0.3 seconds, Zhao Mingwei kicked the Gun Knight's lance, then delivered another side kick after the cooldown ended.

The Gun Knight floated even higher into the air with a look of hopelessness.

Why fight with me?!

After a series of suppression attacks, a thought suddenly popped into Zhao Mingwei's mind.

This elite NPC lacked invincibility, forced displacement, and any skills like self-destruct on recovery. How could he compete with a player who had floating combos, blocks, See Through, deflections, and other system aids?

It made no sense...

Zhao Mingwei, being a Mind Energy Master, had no blocking or deflecting skills. Only weapon-using classes like Swordsman, Assassin, and Knights had those. Fighters using gauntlets and claws had deflection judgments but in turn had a system called See Through. Zhao Mingwei rarely used it against monsters, as those big creatures were unreasonable.

But against this humanoid NPC, Zhao Mingwei also rarely used it… Because most humanoid NPCs in the Holy Spirit carried invincibility and float negations, self-destruct after combos, and other troublesome skills.

But this elite NPC had none of those! As long as Zhao Mingwei dodged his attacks, he could combo him comfortably.

Only if he could dodge the Gun Knight's counterattacks in the floating state, which most players couldn't, but Zhao Mingwei could, easily.

Once this was understood, it turned into a one-sided thrashing. The Gun Knight had few chances to counterattack.

In the end, the Gun Knight successfully escaped the floating state, jumping back and trying to counterattack with magic-formed lances. But as he landed, instead of a telekinetic punch to the face, Zhao Mingwei let out a "heh," his voice transforming into a roaring lion, causing the Gun Knight to become dizzy.

Zhao Mingwei seized the opportunity to execute a throw maneuver, hurling the poor Gun Knight out of the ring.
