Right as it got close enough to see... It started to look like it was a pile of rocks rolling towards us.
"Bolggor, is that you?" I asked hopefully.
All of the sudden the rocks froze and pulled together. It took the shape I knew very well. It was indeed Bolggor.
"What the hell man that scared me." Kuro said hotly. "Make sure you have nothing living but yourself and get in here."
"I cant see my back but a few baby spiders are heading this way. Please check my back for me." Bolggor said.
"Turn around please" I replied.
I saw a couple baby spiders on his face and said, "hold still and I hope you dont burn."
I used my flame to burn them to a crisp and then bolggor stepped into the room. I moved away from the door and it stopped partially open. Pushing with all my strength I couldnt get it to move anymore.
"Oh hell no, push Shi push it shut." Kuro said with terror growing in his voice.
Bolggor turned around and put his weight on the door and the door slammed shut with a loud bang. The ground started to shake again and we dropped to our knees. All of the sudden what looked like runes lit up the door frame and the shaking stopped. We were blinded a moment later when the room light up with torches and a large bright gem shown in the center of the room.
***Chime*** Safe zone reached ***Chime***
We all cheered and Kuro and I jumped for joy. We made it to a safe zone.
"What was that Bolggor? You were just rocks rolling our way. How is that possible?" I asked curiously.
"I found out a whole ago that I could do that when I was watching a duel between a few people and a bad boss. One of the Golems did exactly what I did to roll under the bosses legs and then reformed and got a kill shot in before it could turn around. He seemed in pain right afterwards and now I know why." Bolggor said through gritted teeth.
He sat down fast and held his head on his hands.
"I take it that doing that hurts quite a bit huh." Kuro said.
"That's an understatement of the century. It felt like I was pulling myself apart buy the joints and then rolling down the stairs with my head hitting each step as I went down and bouncing harder and harder as I moved. Ouch!!!" Bolggor groaned. "I need a bit away from the game. How much time do we still have left?"
"We have a touch over 15 hours left on my timer. How long are you going to be gone? I could use the time to check outside of the game and see how Sam and Josh are doing." I asked.
"Can you give me an hour? I want to take some pain meds and let them kick in before I come back." Bolggor said still grunting and groaning. "I know why that other Golem refused to stay for comments and left really quickly now."
"Go ahead and go Bolggor you earned it." I said.
Shortly afterwards he disappeared from the room. I turned and looked at Kuro. I was not happy with him in the slightest.
"Kuro, you will stay here and wait for us to come back right? Besides I am not happy with you. You tried to leave Bolggor behind and then also tried to pull me away so the door would shut on him so he couldn't follow us to safety. What was up with that?" I said hotly.
Kuro lowered his head, "Sorry, I was frightened and didnt want to die. I have a mission I have to complete at all costs. I have friends I need to meet up with and a person, I need to find soon. I will wait here for you both to come back. I need some music time anyways to relax a bit and can do that here in the game."
I gave Kuro the best I am pissed at you look I could even though I knew he couldnt see my face through my mask. I selected my log out button and my game started to fade away.
I stayed still as I was coming out of the game.
"Ok so we have finally reached an agreement then. We have a game plan in place. I just hopes Marie will go along with the plan this will really affect her life." I heard Josh say without much emotion.
"Yes Josh, Sam said sighing. "I will do it but there is no guarantee that Marie will want anything to do with me anymore. I mean I froze and didnt do anything. She flat out said I betrayed her. I think I lost my best friend today and it really hurts. I made a huge mistake here."
"As we have gone over this, you didn't betray her, you werent paid to let her go, you just froze. I am sure she will understand that if you explain it to her. Marie is a good woman. If I had to be with a woman I would want it to be her. She would be the beat friend a gay guy like me could have... even if she ended up being my wife. It wouldnt be romantic though as she doesnt have what it takes to get me going but it would be fun and relaxing. But then again remember this, I am going to be her bodyguard so I can't be more then that." Josh said.
"I could be her bodyguard instead." Sam said.
"Sam you proved today that you couldnt be her bodyguard when you froze up." Josh said sternly.
I sneezed and they both went silent.
"Has she ever done that before? Also look here Sam, it looks like she has tears streaming down her face still. We really need to do a better job helping her. It's been over a hour an she is still crying. This is unacceptable." Josh said.
I moaned a bit and slightly shifted as I moved to take my visor off very slowly. What I saw when I took the visor off made me freeze and then roll off the other side of the bed into the floor. I covered my eyes quickly.
"Clothes would be good people" I stated.
"Uhh Marie, we are wearing clothes. We both have pants socks and shoes on right now." Sam said back to me.
"Oh, ummm... ok" I replied as I was peaking over the bed. "Shirts are needed too, clothes are important. Being fully clothed is good and preferred."
They both laughed at me but didn't move at all. I couldn't help but look at them both, they had nice bodies and were very fit. The slender body hid a lot of muscle with just simple clothes.
"Since when did me being shirtless bother you Marie?" Sam asked confused.
"I don't know for some reason after what all just happened to me it does bother me." I stated.
I thought about it a sec and came up with a game plan to get them both the dress fully.
"Not fully clothed men scare me right now. Please for my peace of mind put on shirts." I said with a timed quiver in my voice.
My face was beat red. I knew I was embarrassed right now and the skin colored pants Josh has on didn't help my imagination as well. Especially since I heard them talking about marriage and referring to me.
"You don't seem scared though. I can see you peaking over the bed staring. You like what you see dont you Marie." Josh said in a teasing manner.
He walked part of the way around the bed in a swave sort of gait and made every muscle in his torso move during the walk. It was as sexual as it could come and still being decent for kids to see.
My face went even redder and I shuddered. Josh seemed to take that as a fear reaction and backed off quickly and put on his shirt.
"Marie, I am so sorry. I forgot for a second what you just went through. Please don't be scared of me. You are safe around me. I swear it's so." Josh said hurriedly.
"Marie? Are you ok?" Sam asked concerned. "Please stop hiding and come out from behind the bed."
"Sam give her time. I just scared her to the point she was trembling in terror." Josh said scolding Sam. "Idiots is what we both are here."
"I will be ok," I said.
I pulled myself together and took a few deep breaths. He thought he scared me but in fact that was so hot I felt dizzy and shuddered. I tried to call myself down and was both thankful I was a woman because they couldn't tell how it affected me but also made me wish I was a male and their type. When I felt myself be calm again I stood up.
"Ok, I think I am ok now." I said.
"Did you finish your quest already?" Josh asked.
I shook my head and said, "Not yet, Bolggor he needed to take a break for an hour as he did a crazy stunt and it apparently really hurt. I didn't know that you as a Golem could take yourself apart and roll around like a pile of rocks. But he managed to do it."
Sam said, "That sounds odd and painful. Why did he do that for?"
"He did it to avoid the Tsuchigumo. A Tsuchigumo is translated as a dirt/earth spider and is the name for a race of spider-like yōkai in Japanese folklore. They appeared to people as having faces of an oni, a body of a tiger, arms and legs of a spider, and wore giant outfits. They all lived in mountains, firmly captured travelers with strings, and ate them. In its native habitat for its furry, prominently striped body and aggressive disposition it's called the Earth Tiger." I replied.
"That sounds weird yet cool." Josh said.
I saw Sam just nod his head.
"We found a safe room right after the room with them in it and decided to take the needed break to help Bolggor." I said. "We still have about 15 hours left on my timer so we are ok."
I still had not came around the bed yet and haven't moved closer to them since I rolled off the bed. I was standing at least though. Pulling myself together I realized that I didn't feel afraid anymore. My friends in game calmed me down and restored my faith in safety. Though I still wanted to be mad at Sam for doing nothing, I found that I was not mad. Hearing that he froze removed my fear that he would of betrayed me completely. I knew that I couldn't let them know that I was listening to them talk but I also needed to figure out what this plan of theirs was.
I climbed into my bed and looked at them both. They both visibly relaxed as I moved closer. Thinking to myself that this could be useful to me somehow I decided to tell them what I thought of them and try to feign anger towards Sam.
"What were you thinking? Why weren't you wearing shirts? Don't you remember what just happened to me and what they wanted to do to me." I said holding myself and shaking. "You have no idea what would of happened to me if she would of managed to take me away and give me to him. I will never go back. Death would be preferred and I will make sure that happens before I ever go back."
Josh looked at me slightly confused and asked me, "What do you mean go back? Marie what happened to you? What did he do? When did it happen and how old were you?"
"Short answer is women are his property to do with as he pleases and use however he demands. Failure to meet his requirements is punished. Refuse to do as told is punished. Anything that isn't what he wishes or his orders is punished. I won't get into how he punishes you but its bad and varies based on the offense. Offense could be caused by you or another and the person to suffer is at his whim. So even if you were perfect and obeyed if someone else didnt obey you could be the one to suffer for their actions. I was his little doll who he favored and rarely punished which made everyone else hate me and I suffered more because of it. Eventually I found a chance to escape and when I took it I knew he would track me down. He found me once and I was punished worse then all but I managed to make him think I ran off because of a couple others and was hiding in plain sight so he could find me. I convinced him that I ran away to save my life. It was childish and I never said who so he killed four of the women in front of me until I managed to relax enough he was convinced that he got rid of the bad ones and that I would stay by his side safe again and willingly. I convinced one of them who was very new and wanted my spot by his side that if she showed she was strong and willing to fight for his attention that she had a chance to replace me. She took a route I didnt expect and ended up bearing him a child and during that he was distracted enough that I and 4 others managed to run away. We all split up and went out separate ways. I eventually found myself getting picked up by others and that weren't kind and tossed me aside when they were done with me and I ended up in this town and orphanage. That is the shortened version. I have lived with the guilt that I caused those women's death and another to be brutally assaulted and used for sex at an age of 12 and was forced to be a mother since then. If I go back I know he will lock me up and use me for a breeder since that is what I saw in his eyes. He desires me now that I am older in more then a doll sense. Those other people used me that way and when they tossed me aside it was because I was too young to be what they wanted me to be." I replied while looking down at my bed so I didn't see anyone.
I looked up slightly and saw both Sam and Josh crying. Sam had a look of total horror on his face and Josh had his hands covering his mouth in shock. I heard a noise coming from behind the door and Josh quickly opened it to reveal a Father Gregory trying to move away from the door. His face was set in a wary look with pity in his eyes.
"My dear child, I am so sorry all that happened to you. You bare a lot of blood and guilt on you. We should talk privately about your past and wellbeing here. A sinner that was never repentant has no place here at all even if you are a child. I understand now why Sister Amy is wary of you." Father Gregory. said in a somewhat hostile tone.
"Actually Father Gregory, I told everything to Sister Amy and asked for God's forgiveness when I first came here. I was told I was a spawn of Satan to have caused those deaths and that if I obeyed and showed true faith that even someone like me could find forgiveness and salvation. I have been here ever since and I know the bible through and through and even do my best to show my faith in the Lord. Sister Amy has never once allowed me to go to the confessional as she said I was too evil still to be absolved of my sins that I did when I was 6 years old. For ten years now I have tried to repent through my knowledge of God and my faith but to be prevented that final step."
Father Gregory signed the cross and looked towards the heavens.
"I can confirm her story about trying to get absolution every year for her birthday she has always asked for the same thing out loud as her birthday wish and was denied every year by Sister Amy. Sister Amy always told her that she was still dirty and not worth God's forgiveness yet." Sam spoke up quickly. "Any of the children that have been here for at least a year can attest to that. This year was the first year she didn't get a chance to ask as no party was given due to her winning the lottery."
Sister Amy showed up and her face was red with anger. "You are now spreading lies about me I see. How much are you paying him to get him to lie for you too? All children who sin deserve God's love and forgiveness. It says so in the bible and I follow his teachings completely. To say otherwise is to lie and that is not a good habit to form."
"Just like you adhere to the life of poverty and spend the money given to you from the church and generous donors to the children at this orphange. You never take anything for yourself or any luxuries like hot sandwiches or expensive food that is yours alone. You buy cheap and worn stuff for the children and yourself expensive and luxury items and food. The children survive by eating from the soup kitchen because you fail to buy food most days for them. All this can be confirmed if Father Gregory wants to ask the soup kitchen and the merchants in town. If the children will speak up and tell the truth without being afraid of the consequences of your punishment they would have done so already. As such they live in fear that you will prevent God's love from reaching them if they dont obey you. Not to mention food, clothing and an actual bed as well as a beating if they attempt to defy you at all." I said with heat yet also a calm expression.
"You ungrateful little liar. How dare you try to smear my good name and all the service I have done for the church all these years. I..." Sister Amy said.
Father Gregory cut her off by saying, "Enough already I will look into these accusations until I confirm or dismiss them you Sister Amy will be asked to remain in your room. I will send word for another Sister to come here for the time being. I will provide you with your meals and you have a bathroom and prayer alter off your room so there is no need for you to leave your quarters. I will see to the children until another Sister arrives. Now go straight to your room."
