"Wooh! That was great!" A boyish voice shrieked out and Killion furrowed his brows in confusion.
"Did you hear that?" He turned to ask his Sergeant.
"What?"
"Yeah!" the voice screamed out again and Killion pointed out into the mists that were still around them.
"That!"
"Men!" A female voice rung out from the mist and immediately the Captain looked up, his eyes bulging out of their sockets at the sight that was playing out before him. A glimmering sail boat had just appeared above them. Covered by a thin film of glowing light much akin to a bright transparent membrane, a rainbow of lights pulsated across its shimmering surface before converging to a point above the masts where a small sun continued to shine brightly.
A small sun? He shook his head at that thought even as he rubbed his eyes convinced that he was dreaming.
"Please tell me that you are seeing this too?" he said to the Sergeant but she remained dumb albeit with a mouth open appearing to be more shocked than Killion was feeling.
"I just saw a vision..." she started to say but shook her head when the vision remained. "Am I going crazy or is this another trick of the terrors." she said looking around her warily.
"If that's the case then I'm afraid the whole crew has got." she turned around and sure enough the whole crew was reacting to it the same as her if not acting wilder.
"How do we get out of this thing?" a voice said from above and the two soldiers turned to look at each other.
"Havillah?" Killion whispered just as he lifted up his gaze and saw a brown skinned girl gripping the rail of the sail boat with one hand even as she looked down below her with thoughtful expression plastered on her face.
"Bring her down." He heard her say.
"But how?" The first voice replied and the brows of his companions raised in surprise.
"Is that Connors?" the Sergeant asked.
"It would seem so." Killion replied just as Gabriel's face looked down upon them. The company of sailors then heard a low growl and as they looked on, most of their jaws dropped, watching as a spark of light emanated from Connors' forehead before linking up with the rest of the crystal. Suddenly, the sailing boat locked sideways and lurched upwards, spinning as it drifted out of control.
The soldiers in the frigate ship beneath the boat quickly scattered, running below deck for safety, but their Captain remained in place. His brows furrowed in concentration even as he watched the girl raise her hands and speak words that seemed to stabilise the boat. Slowly but surely, the sailing boat then began to descend, causing the remaining soldiers to scuttle away in fear. Right before it hit the larger ship's deck, the boat stopped its descent and hovered some inches above it, close enough for its two occupants to disembark safely and unassisted.
"Havillah," The Captain stepped forward even as the girl in black robes and golden embroidery walked forward to meet him. "I thought I would never see you again." He said as he took in the appearance of the young Great.
"I thought so too, but life has a way of disappointing us, right?" the caramel skinned beauty replied as a grin broke across the Captain's young face.
"I wouldn't call this disappointing, just surprising. However, it's really good to look upon the face of my saviour again." The captain responded, taking Havillah's hand into his, before pulling her into a tight hug. Beside them and for the second time that day, the eyes of the soldiers that had rejoined them bulged out of their sockets even as the frown on the face of only female in their group furrowed deeper, glowering at the two and how familiar they were acting.
"Your saviour?" she derided. "I didn't peg you for a religious person Captain."
"Calla," Killion turned to the Sergeant with a bright smile pulling his lips just after he let go of the flustered young Great who even now was busy rectifying her robes. "This is Havillah. She saved my life."
