Chapter 68 - - sixty eight -

"What the hell happened to the bathroom?"

It was Mark's voice that rang out when he had turned on the light in the bathroom.

Renjun was confused but hesitantly detached from Jaemin and Jeno, standing to investigate.

He made his way to Mark, a little shaky from his outburst earlier.

Taking a deep breath, he stood beside Mark.

Peering into the bathroom, there was black everywhere. As if a black paint bomb had went off, leaving the only white surface be the door where he had sat against.

Confused, Renjun quickly raised his hands to where he could see them, already expecting the black tint that had remained on them, only to be met with a warm skin tone. He turned his hands, inspecting them, seeing the familiar bruise-like mark on the top of his right hand.

He could only assume what had happened, which was that the power had been repelled from his body through his emotional outburst and into a physical substance that ended up being all over the bathroom.

He didn't explain his thoughts to Mark, just simply nodding his head in acceptance and left the older who still lingered at the door frame, and returned back to the conjoined beds in their room.

"I'm going to go shower," he said, the feeling of Abigail's power lingering on him made him nauseous, and all he wanted was to wash it off.

Jeno and Jaemin shared a look before nodding at him as they continued to hold each other comfortably in the bed.

"Hurry back," Jaemin said as Renjun gathering a change of clothes before heading to the door.

"Always," he smiled.

. . .

Renjun had found himself showering in Taeyong's bathroom, not really explaining the reason he couldn't shower in his own dorm, but Taeyong allowed him, wanting to be able to pay a little more attention to the younger.

He hadn't failed to miss the black tint that was no longer on the younger's hands, but made no comment nonetheless.

Renjun had showered peacefully, taking a little longer to scrub his body of any trace of the events from earlier.

Renjun allowed his mind to be empty, which he hadn't done in a long time, but the feeling was so serene.

The feeling of nothing running in his mind, simply letting himself relieve himself from the troubles he had been facing.

It was something so surreal.

Like a peaceful song on repeat or a view of a meadow and having a beautiful dream there.

Like nothing could ever harm you.

Like nothing could even come close to disturbing you.

It allowed him to release his emotions, something he didn't have much expertise in, but he was trying.

The sereness reminded him of Jeno.

Jeno.

Such a calming emotion seemed to envelope Renjun, at just the thought of the boy.

A smile adorned his face as his heart swelled.

The warm water cascading on his face reminded him of the comfort of Jaemin.

Jaemin.

His smile managed to get brighter as his heart seemed to grow even more.

He didn't know exactly what it was that made him so much happier when he was with the two.

Maybe it was because they had reached out to him first.

Or the way they seemed to accept him and all of his flaws.

Or just the way they made him feel as if he were someone significant.

He had never felt that way before, only feeling like a pawn in a game much larger than himself.

But in Jaemin and Jeno's eyes, it was as if he were the prize at the end, and that made him feel loved.

It felt strange to add a label as significant as 'love' as it was something Renjun had no experience whatsoever.

But for some reason, it felt right.

Like something had blossomed inside his heart and moved him so deeply he almost felt unstable.

As if a gust of wind had lifted his soul and he wasn't anywhere near touching the ground. A kind of weightlessness that had him on edge but it was blissful.

A feeling that dug so deep into his core that he couldn't do anything but fall.

And he felt that with both Jaemin and Jeno.

Just a smile could send him to the edge, a touch making him fall.

It was something that couldn't be avoided.

Like dying but being reborn once more, allowing one's soul to be exposed to beauty of nature and being rewarded for it.

It felt like the warmth of a hug without anyone surrounding him. A sudden heat that seemed to never burn out with a glance.

It was beautiful.

Something so exquisite, that words couldn't even give justice to the true beauty of the raw emotion Renjun found himself engulfed in.

He felt like he needed to tell the two, as he had finally faced and comprehended the emotion.

He was scared, no doubt, but he trusted them.

With his whole being he trusted them both.

He found himself reminiscing of their time together the past few months as he walked slowly down the hall, returning to his own room.

Each step closer to his room seemed to make his heart race that much more.

Their confession to him.

Escaping the Inside together.

The Spring.

The way they fought through tough times and supported each other.

All the shy smiles when either or both of them held his hands at the table.

He hid a small smile to himself, loving each and every memory that seemed to come to mind with the time he spent with the other two boys.

His hair was still slightly damp, and he remembered the slightly confused but proud look Taeyong held when he had left his room.

He remained quiet as he silently opened the door, peeking in to see the room dimly lit with all of the other boys cuddled together.

He smiled once again, tears of happiness trying to get through as he blinked them away.

He shuffled to the bed, before Jeno had woken up, before pulling Renjun to lay in between him and Jaemin.

The action and added weight woke up Jaemin, who only looked at the older with sleepy eyes and an equally sleepy smile.

"You're back~" Jaemin said lethargically, before cuddling into Renjun's side and meeting Jeno's arms that wrapped around the older as he did the same.

Renjun nodded, smiling shyly as he basked in their attention.

He raised his arms, patting Jaemin's head that cuddled into his chest, and Jeno's arm that was draped across them.

This gained their attention, but Renjun remained silent.

He brought Jeno's hand to his mouth, kissing it softly, before leaning down and kissing Jaemin's head as well.

Breathing in deeply once more, he held both of their hands.

Something he never thought he'd ever be able to say before. Had never crossed his mind as dialogue he'd ever tell someone.

But here he was, ready to spill his entire being to these two boys.

"I've never been the type to let someone see right through me, until I met you two," he started, not looking at the boys, but squeezing gently on the hands he held.

"Something about you two seemed to embed yourselves into my heart. It be cliche to call it destiny, but I think our paths were meant to cross. And I'm so glad they did. Today, was hectic. Seeing you two hurt like that, it hurt me more," he continued, taking in another deep breath.

"I hated seeing that, and I didn't understand why it hurt so much. Why I felt your pain. It was terrifying, and I never want it to happen again," he said, noticing the boys' silence to let him speak. In a gesture of thankfulness, he repeated his previous actions of leaving light kisses on them.

"I think what I'm trying to say after all of this, with my whole heart, is that I love you both."
