Renjun woke up, confused that he fell asleep.
But, he was in bliss.
For the first time in two days, he was completely pain-free. He closed his eyes once more, smiling widely and relishing in the pleasure of normalcy.
He felt tears of joy about to burst, and he let them.
Still smiling, he noticed that he felt overly warm. He tried kicking his covers off, only to find that he had no blanket on.
That's weird.
But then he felt the breath of someone on his left, and he tensed up.
He didn't dare to look, eyes still closed.
Then there was a shift to his right, and he almost screamed in fright.
Now there were two breaths lightly on his face, and he realized that he was tangled between limbs. Peeking one eye open, he looked slowly to his left, where he first felt the light breath on his cheek.
What he found gave him a clue as to who the other breath was.
Renjun jumped a little, seeing Jeno's face so close to his own. He had fallen asleep, but Renjun wasn't sure how he had managed to get into his house, let alone his bed. Seeing the younger look so peaceful, his hand flinched at the thought of patting the other's hair, but he withheld himself.
Renjun then turned on his right, jumping again when Jaemin looked back at him with a straight face.
Jaemin had witnessed the flinch and the tender look the oldest had to his friend. But the wide eyes staring back at him were just too cute to not react to.
"Oh, hyung~" Jaemin whispered, smiling brightly, "you can pat my head."
Renjun looked away from the youngest, cheeks reddening, and started to play with his own fingers. He wasn't expecting the sudden informalization of speech, and definitely not the 'hyung'. So they were close now?
"I don't know what you're talking about," he mumbled, only to have Jaemin lightly take his chin into his hand and direct Renjun's face back to his own.
What Jaemin saw did not disappoint him. His hyung staring back at him, trying to look away with pink tinged cheeks. It was absolutely adorable, and Jaemin squealed quietly to himself. The older was just so fragile looking, and so beautiful that Jaemin was in awe.
A shift in the bed caused the two to look over at the presumably sleeping third.
"Alright now," Jeno spoke up, finally awake with his deep voice, and pointed to the time, "It's only 10:55 p.m. so I suggest you guys go back to sleep."
Jaemin groaned in protest, wanting to stay awake, but didn't turn down the thought that popped up of Jeno's groggy voice.
That shit is hot.
Smiling to himself, he wrapped himself further around Renjun, snuggling his face into the crook of the older's neck. He reached over the oldest boy to grab hands with Jeno, the older slipping his hand into the other easily.
They felt Renjun tense up, and they both sleepily reached their faces to the oldest to have the both kiss his cheek. This flustered Renjun, making him bury himself into Jaemin to hidehis face.
"What the heck was that?" he asked, voice muffled into Jaemin's shirt. The younger two looked at each other and smiled, knowing they made the eldest shy.
"A goodnight kiss, duh," Jaemin answered, shrugging the action off as normal.
"And you guys do that with everyone?"
"Nope, just you," Jeno answered this time, wrapping his arms around Renjun this time.
To say Renjun was embarrassed was an understatement. He was absolutely red. But he was also flattered. Even if the two were partners, they must understand the lack of affection the older had, and decided to take pity on him.
This soured Renjun's mood, so he spoke up.
"Jaemin, do you want to switch?"
Jaemin looked at him, confused.
"Why?"
"I have to get up real quick," Renjun lamely responded, trying to find an excuse out of the bed.
"Oh, O.K. then," Jaemin said, pushing himself out of the bed, to let Renjun through.
His feet hit the cold floor shocking him, but went to the kitchen regardless of the cold running through his body.
He didn't know what to think.
What exactly was this situation he was put in?
He shook his head slightly in the dim light of the kitchen, sipping some water from the cold glass in his hand.
After drinking the water, he placed the cup in the empty metal sink, not bothering to wash it just yet.
His head to filled with thoughts, he almost ran into the wall of the hallway turning to go back to his room.
Are you kidding me? What is wrong with me?
Renjun entered his bedroom silently, praying that the other two were sleeping.
Thankfully his prayers were answered and they lay there snuggling together, making Renjun's heart warm at the sight, but he quickly faltered.
He felt like he was invading their time.
With his brow tensed and furrowed, he quickly grabbed one of the pillows off the bed, one that Jaemin wasn't on, only to reach over and still when Jaemin decided to turn towards him. Hissing silently, Renjun quickly took the pillow and turned towards the door, into the empty dorm room to his right.
Sighing, he dropped the pillow onto the unfamiliar bed. Even if it was smaller than his own bed, which proved capable to fit three whole guys, it was still bigger than him.
This'll have to do, he thought, throwing himself onto it.
He wasn't really tired but he had always been sleep deprived because of his sessions, so catching up on good sleeping hours was not something to pass up.
Snuggling into his own self, he began to fall asleep.
. . .
Jaemin was confused again.
Where's Renjun?
He shook Jeno awake, and looked at the time.
12:23.
"Jeno, where's Renjun? It's been, like, two hours," Jaemin said, worriedly.
Jeno opened an eye, and looked over at his friend.
"Let's go look."
They both got up, missing the warmth, but looked for Renjun regardless.
They went out of the room, and went straight to the kitchen. Jeno went to the sink and saw the glass that wasn't there when they first got there.
"Well, he was here."
They didn't find him in the living room, so they decided to check the rooms like the first time.
It didn't take them long to see the door to the right of Renjun's room was cracked open slightly.
Opening the door quietly, they were greeted with the sight of Renjun huddled in a ball, clutching onto the pillow underneath his head.
Silently cooing at the older, Jaemin went over to him, and laid beside him, quickly cuddling him.
"Yah! What about me?" Jeno whisper-shouted, smiling softly at the pair.
"Chopped liver," Jaemin said, softly laughing before he waved for Jeno to join.
Jeno hopped over quickly, making Renjun in the middle once more, and although a small fit, they were still able to cuddle the oldest in content.
They both held one of Renjun's hands, falling slowly back to sleep.
. . .
One thing Renjun didn't think he was going to wake up to ever was a kiss to his forehead.
Simple enough, right?
Wrong.
Jaemin went further than Jeno's forehead kiss, leaning over to press small kisses all over the eldest's face, making him cover his face, face red.
"What the heck??"
