I wake up the next morning laying in a pool of blood on my kitchen floor with the knife that I cut my self with in my hand. I get off the floor feeling drowsy, I go to the bathroom and wash my arm off. Adam "OW, fu$# that stings!". I dry my arm and look for band aids. "Crap, I don't have any" I look down at my arm, "I should be fine, the bleeding stopped already." I get ready for school and head out, I don't wait for Kayden. I can't face him after what my mother said yesterday and what if he notices my arm. I get to class into class and sit down setting my stuff down with my arm still hurting. I see Kayden come into class, I duck my head hoping he doesn't come over and say something to me. Kayden's point of view~ Kayden's mind "Hmm is Adam okay he didn't wait for me so that we could walk together to school, and is he trying to hide from me? No I must be misunderstanding, it's been werid between us lately though maybe I should say something so that we can talk". I start to walk over to Adam when the bell rings and the teacher comes into class. Kayden's mind "Oh well I'll to him later then". I take my seat and class starts the teacher passes out a worksheet for us to do, I hear someone ask for a pencil I turn to look and it's the kid that sits behind Adam, but Adam doesn't seem to notice that he is talking to him the kid behind him taps his arm and he winces, I'm confused as to why at first.
But then I see it, he's bleeding through his long sleeve shirt. But why?!?!?! What happened is he alright?!?!?! Did he get cut by something!?!? I definitely need to ask about it later to see if he's alright. Adam looks down at his arm and his face goes white he looks up and turns to me. We lock eyes and then he calls the teacher asking if he can go to the bathroom, he leaves the room gripping his arm tightly. I need to check to see if he's okay when I'm about to ask to leave to go to the bathroom the bell rings. Perfect timing, Teacher "Can someone please take Adam's items to him" Kayden "Yes I'm heading to him right now". I grab his stuff and race to bathroom, I need to know if he's okay. I get to the bathroom and I see him there running his arm under the water making the water red. He goes to dry it off and wraps his arm in some paper towels. He turns around and sees me standing there. Adam "K-kayden, w-what are you doing here" Kayden "I came to give your stuff...and, and to see if you were okay I noticed in class how you started to bleed, are you alright." Adam "Oh yeah it's nothing" Kayden "NOTHING, Adam your bleeding a lot" Kayden rushes over to Adam, Kayden "let me see" Adam snatches his arm away wincing in pain "NO, i-i I'm fine, really just go to class" Adam "Just go to class already". Adam starts to tremble, his knees give out and he faints. Kayden "ADAM!!!" I rush over to Adam, managing to catch him before he falls. He's lost a lot of blood. I need to get him to the hospital quickly. Dang what am I going to do with our backpacks, whatever that's not important right now, I pull Adam's body onto my back and pull my phone out of my pocket dialing 911. Rushing to the front of the school. 911 "911 what your emergency?" Kayden "MY FRIEND COLLAPSED FROM BLOOD LOSS AT MY SCHOL!" 911 "Ok calm down what school are you at we will be there soon try stop the blood flow from the area that he's bleeding from".
"Ok ok, I'm at Angelwood High School" 911 "Ok were on our way hang tight". Kayden pulls his jacket from his waist and wraps it around Adam's arm tightly trying to stop the bleeding. 911 "You should hear the ambulance in just a few moments, were you able to stop the bleeding?" Kayden "yes for now at least, I wrapped my jacket around his arm, Oh I see the ambulance now". Ambulance ~ "wewo wewo wewo wewo wewo wewo" Kayden "Ok it's here thank you" 911 "No problem the paramedics will help you goodbye" the paramedics got Adam in the truck and tried their best to keep him alive, they leave and Kayden stands there for a while, and then runs to the bathroom to get both Adam and his backpacks. While leaving the bathroom Kayden starts to order an uber to go to the hospital. The uber arrives and while going to the hospital Kayde couldn't sit still he was so nervous and wondering if he was going to be okay. When he got to the hospital Kayden pays the driver and rushes out with his and Adam's bag in hand he runs into the hospital. Front desk lady "Hello, can I help you" Kayden "Yes, my cousin Adam Smith just arrived at the hospital I just wanted to know what room he's in." Front desk lady "Oh yes, he's in room 635, go through that door and take a right walk straight until you come up to an elevator go to floor 4 take a left and a right then you should be at his room, here's your sticker go right ahead." Kayden "Ok thank you". Kayden follows the directions that the desk lady told him and when he makes it up to Adam's room he stops in front of the door and knocks. At first it's quiet but then I hear a faint whisper saying "Come in". I walk into the room and see him laying there in the bed, looking vulnerable. He looks over at me and when we make eye contact he looks away, I walk over to where he's laying and sit down in the chair next to his bed. Kayden "Are you alright what happened why were you bleeding so much?" Adam " I-i don't want to talk about it" Kayden "Well I'm glad I was able to get you to the hospital in time, you were losing a lot of blood." Kayden "I thought I was going to lose you for a second you shouldn't scare me like that, I, I don't know what I'd do without you in my life." Adam blushes "You shouldn't be here you should have left me there to die" Kayden "WHAT NO WHY WHY WOULD I DO THAT" Adam "It's not like my life matters, no one would miss me anyways" Kayden "THATS NOT TRUE, I would miss you, isn't that enough?" Adam " what's the point, you'll get bored of me eventually and leave me behind" Kayden "No I won't, and it doesn't matter if there's one person or a lot of people there for you, because as long as you have someone that loves and cares about you that should be enough to insure you that you matter." Adam starts to cry. Adam "I, I just it's so hard" Kayden "Hey, I'm here for you now, what happened?" I lean over and pull Adam into a hug, Adam sobs harder and I hug him a little tighter trying not to hurt him. Kayden "Do you want to tell me what's going on" Adam's mind~ "Should I tell him the truth, yea, yea I will". Adam takes a breath and pulls away from Kayden looking down. Adam "I'll tell you from the beginning I guess so this is going to be a long story" Kayden "Okay".
Adam "When I was younger my mother always resented me as her child but she loved my older brother Alex, my father wasn't at home very often because he was taking care of the family business so it was my mom, me and my brother in the house. I would always get yelled at and hit by my mother, my brother is the only reason I'm still here, he was the only one who loved me and I looked up to him. He was a kind and brave person. But one day he got into a car crash and died, since then my mother has only become more abusive and rude towards me. One day I decided that I would leave home and continue high school away from my mother. That's when I met you, a sweet, shy, cute boy in my class that I fell in love with, but I didn't say anything because I thought you were straight. You know the day we were, *cough* studying at my house, well when my mother got there and you left she was talking to me about how I need to take over the family business. Ever since my brother died my mother has been trying to turn me into my brother. Her words just hurt so much sometimes that, that day I cried a lot. And yesterday my mom texted me telling me to meet her and my father at a coffee shop to discuss the business. We talked about that but then my mother brought up you. Talking about the day she saw me and you in my house she said she knew it was more than just studying because you were blushing and my father got mad at me saying that if I date boys that I'm disgusting, so I panicked and told him I had a girlfriend I told them that her name was Chelsea and now I have to meet with them on Saturday and have dinner so I have to ask Chelsea to fake being my girlfriend and I just broke up with her. So after that I went home and I couldn't handle it anymore and I was having panic attack and I didn't want to deal with the pain of my life anymore so I, I um I cut my self hoping I'd just bleed to death." Adam looks up at Kayden and sees that he's crying. Adam "Sorry, was that too much to take in" Kayden sobs, Kayden "D-don't you dare feel bad for me, you were going through so much all by yourself, are you truly okay?!" Kayden grabs Adam and pulls him into a tight hug, Kayden "I'm here for you please don't harm yourself because of what other people say to you, I know life is hard right now but it will get better." Adam smiles, and he tears up. Adam "Thank you" Adam hugs Kayden back tighter. Kayden sniffs and stops crying thinking over everything Adam said, and his mind lands this one phrase that Adam said "I have to ask Chelsea to fake being my girlfriend and I just broke up with her" Kayden pulls away looking at Adam. Adam "what?" Kayden "When did you break up with Chelsea?!?!!? And why?!?! Adam "Oh um, three days ago, and I broke up with her because, *cough* because I" Adam looks away, Adam "Because I love you". Adam looks back up to look at Kayden and sees him blushing. Kayden "y-you love me???" Adam *coughs* *clears throat* Adam "yea I do". Kayden "I, I thought, I thought I didn't have a chance, I uh ahem, I" Kayden blushes and looks down, Kayden "I love you too".
Adam scoots closer to Kayden, he grabs Kayden's chin so that he can look at him, Adam and Kayden look at each other, Adam "Can, can I kiss you?" Kayden nods. Adam leans in and kisses Kayden, feeling a sense of longing for this moment. They continue their kiss and it goes from soft to rough and more lustful. Adam pulls away, breathless he says "W-wait, we can't do this, we can't be together" Kayden "w-why why not" Adam "My parents, they just won't accept it and they think I'm dating Chelsea what if they catch us together one day, I don't want you to get caught up with my family" Kayden "I understand..." Adam grabs Kaydens hand "I'm not saying I don't want to be with you because I do, but right now is not the best time, ok?" Kayden "But, couldn't we just date in secret?".
