Light also nodded his head in approval and began explaining, "Lucifer you will stall for time and distract them. Use yourself as leverage to allow the RV to drive out of firing range. The RV isn't bulletproof so we can't afford to let them shoot at it. Once the RV is moved, we will have to jump into action."
"Ace is in charge of driving the RV away. Rose and Yukio, you two will also stay in the RV and protect it. Both of you need to stay vigilant against surprise attacks. Rose, you will act as a shield. Yukio, focus on disarming every target the moment they approach."
"After the RV gets out of range from the armored tanks and appears to leave, we will take action. Make sure you don't actually leave. I suspect those cars that followed behind us won't just allow us to leave. There are likely more soldiers in the cars awaiting us just outside the perimeter. Wait for us before you engage them, and stay on comms."
Yukio nodded in understanding while Rose continued to remain expressionless.
"Our goal is to take the enemies down one at a time. The armored tanks are a greater threat so we will take them out first. It is essential that we remove them all in one clean sweep so that they don't have the time to alert the other side for support. The worst thing that can happen to us is if we get boxed in."
"Rin, you are in charge of protecting Lucifer. The moment anything seems to be going wrong, you pull him into the shadows. Do you understand?"
"Yes!" Rin saluted Light with his usual high energy.
Light then turned to Aida, looking to her for specific guidance on their actual combat. She and Lucifer were far more familiar with this area.
Aida nodded, "I intend for the last four of us to sneak past the tanks and ambush them from behind. Light, you'll need to come with me and monitor the situation. You can help me identify where the soldiers are. Little White can use his camouflage technique to bring us across the battlefield. Xiao Ai can provide support to prevent anyone from sounding the alarm. We have to fight to kill, there's no room for failure."
At this time, the representative from the government called out again with his microphone, "Come out now or we will be forced to shoot."
Aida got Rose to make a bulletproof vest made of highly compressed ice for Lucifer to wear just in case. Everyone wore a wire to communicate.
"Remember, there are to be no casualties on our side under any circumstance. If it seems like you can't fight them, just surrender yourself and we will come for you as soon as possible."
Light and Aida both gave the twins and Rose a tight hug before preparing to walk out. They held hands with Little White who camouflaged them. Everyone stared in wide eyes as they didn't know Little White was capable of doing this. Meanwhile, Xiao Ai also turned herself invisible and hugged her Mama's waist to avoid hindering her movements.
Light's face was taut with nerves. He wasn't concerned for his own safety, but the safety of his brothers.
Aida noticed this and gave him a pat, "They may be children, but they're extremely capable. Trust in their abilities."
He nodded and adjusted his mood as he watched Rin and Lucifer leave the RV.
Rin dissolved into the shadows as Lucifer stepped out of the RV with his hands up. After stepping out, he paused briefly. This motion was to allow Aida and the strike team to sneak out of the RV before shutting the door.
After receiving confirmation that they had left, Lucifer called out with a loud voice, "I'm here! Don't shoot." His voice sounded incomparably small and weak compared to the government representative with the microphone.
The government representative responded, "How can you prove your identity?"
Lucifer calmly responded with his full name and military identification number. This was standard practice for identifying a soldier in the field. Their military number served as their passcode.
The representative on the other side went silent for a while to check before responding, "Good. Now walk towards us with your hands out. Any sudden movements and we will shoot."
"What about my companions? I won't move until you let them go." Lucifer asked.
"I already gave you my word."
"Your word isn't good enough. Let them go first and then I will come to you. It's not like I can escape anywhere on foot anyway," Lucifer responded as his lips curled into a mocking smile to match his sarcastic tone.
The man on the other side paused for a moment before answering, "Fine. They can go first." Afterall, they would be caught and killed after they left Lucifer's field of vision anyway.
Knocking on the RV, Lucifer told them to drive off. As he did this, the representative had put down the microphone and taken out a walkie talkie, saying, "There are strays approaching you. Get rid of all of them."
"Roger that," responded an even voice from the other side.
Off on the side, small foot imprints could be seen on the dirt as Light, Aida and the others made their way towards the van with Little White's help. They were making a gamble and assuming that none of the people on the government side had video feeds or a psychic tracking their movements. Lucifer's job was to distract them so nobody would notice these prints.
Lucifer already had a mental list of questions he wanted to ask and began, "Why do you want to capture me?"
"You are a fugitive that betrayed your country, escaping with valuable intelligence. If you give yourself up now, we may be able to make a case of leniency for you when you get sent to court."
Lucifer pretended to think about it while inwardly sneering. He was most clear on whether or not he betrayed the government and if the government would even allow him to go through due process and experience a fair trial. Given the classified nature of this work, it was impossible for them to ever allow him to see the light again after he was caught.
