A quick flash passed through Ace's eyes when he heard her mentioned City M, but it quickly went away. Light was the first to respond, "I am willing to travel with you."
Aida responded stoically, "I know you also want to get back to Japan at some point in time. After taking care of some business at City M, we can go to Japan and take care of your business."
Inwardly, she was extremely pleased to hear Light would be joining her on her journey. That meant good food the entire trip~
Light calmly nodded in acknowledgement. He appreciated Aida's mindfulness of his situation and didn't mind his revenge being delayed by a bit. Given his family's selfishness and ability, they were sure to survive till he returned to Japan.
Turning to Ace, Aida asked, "What about you?"
Ace responded ingratiatingly, "This servant will of course follow Master wherever you may go! But Master, why are we going to City M?"
Aida expressionlessly responded to Ace, "Because I have some business to take care of."
Knowing she would not provide any more information, Ace quickly nodded as though Aida would change her mind about taking him if he took any longer.
"Do you have a plan?" asked Light.
"Only a very general one," responded Aida as she brought up a map on her laptop.
Using a route planner, she mapped a path to City M from where they were. Typically, the drive would have taken 32 hours without traffic, but with all this chaos it would take much longer. They would need to avoid all major highways and preferably cities as well.
There was also a challenge of passing through one of the mountains and a forest. The mountain only had a single lane, so they would likely be unable to pass it with ease. Additionally, it was still unknown how the virus has impacted the animals.
Addressing all these factors, Aida estimated that it would take roughly 3 weeks to arrive at City M in the best case scenario. They would have to circumvent the mountain, pass through the forest and drive through at least one city. Aida wanted to reach City M as soon as possible to minimize the odds of that man leaving before she reached.
Thinking about the time and risks it would take to reach City M, both Aida and Light sat there quietly, trying to think of alternate routes. Meanwhile, Ace sat there watching the two chat, clueless on how to contribute.
After a long silence, Light suggested, "What if we took one of the planes from the airport? If we flew one, it would cut the time down to roughly 8 hours."
"Not a bad idea. Let's try that first," Aida's eyes lit up. She immediately latched onto the idea of flying a plane as that had been on her apocalypse bucket list for a while now. She was eager to put the knowledge she gained from the plane simulation in her system into action.
With that, they had their next steps planned. They would wake for the twins and Xiao Ai to wake up, then head back to the airport to acquire a plane.
Light, taking on the strategist and logistician roles, began planning out the details for getting to the airport and flying the plane. He studied up on how plane operate, the kind of plane they needed to look for, how much fuel was necessary and other details.
Aida laid on the couch with her eyes closed, pretending to sleep. In reality, she closed her eyes and searched for the plane simulation she previously found in the system. While she was eager to fly a plane, she wanted to be 100% confident prior to actually flying. Otherwise, she would likely be sent back into the punishment system for a third time and be forced to take off and land a plane 100 times before the system would release her.
"Stupid con system," Aida grumbled in complaint as she went through the plane simulation training.
[...] The system protested in silence.
After some time, Aida got bored of the flight simulation training and decided that she was going to head out and have some fun. Now that the two adults were awake, she was no longer forced to stay inside the house.
She was eager to go and encounter some of the larger dots that showed up on her radar. She noticed that all of the larger dots had their own color auras, much like how the spiderwoman had a dark purple aura. It was time to find out exactly what these colors meant.
When Ace saw that she was going out, he immediately stood up, demanding to go as well. Aida just looked at him with cold eyes and responded, "No, you deadweight."
Turning towards Light, she told him, "I'll be out for the day. Keep watch of Xiao Ai for me."
Light nodded with his typical calm expression, "Leave it to me."
With that, she left the house.
She noticed earlier as she was driving in that none of the larger dots would be in close proximity with each other. This was the main reason that Aida was able to navigate through the city and reach this house without too much trouble. She was relieved to not have to face a mob. The system had traumatized her and she never wanted to face a mob again regardless of their level.
Picking the nearest large dot, she made her way towards it.
