We boarded the ship and off we went, the trip between Manshu and Ardilla apparently takes 2-3 days.
SY 641, Agi 4 1:09 L.Q. - Somewhere at Sea
"How long have we been traveling?"
[Temti]
"I think it's only been a day or two. We should probably ask the Ship Captain just to be sure though."
[Twilight]
"I wonder if he could tell us about Manshu as well."
[Temti]
[Twilight and Temti approaching the Ship Captain.]
"So we had a few questions."
[Twilight]
"No problem young savior, The name's Ric, how can I help you?"
[Ship Captain]
"Well, first we were wondering, how long will it take us to travel to Manshu."
[Twilight]
"We've been sailing for 2 days so we should be there pretty soon if we don't run into anything."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"Run into anything?"
[Twilight]
"Yes, though they may seem calm now these seas are treacherous, filled with great creatures, some as old as the planet."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"Wow, I hope we don't run into anything."
[Temti]
"Do not fret if we are well prepared. Is that all you wanted to know?"
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"No, we were wondering if you could tell us more about Manshu?"
[Twilight]
"Oh, well that's easy, Manshu is a vibrant island. Home to the Fae as well as the Nightwalker race, your race, if I'm correct. It is split into 4 small kingdoms and the main capital in the middle, where we will be headed."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"And who is the person Anita is suggesting we go visit?"
[Twilight]
"His name is Kopirnicus, he is the current Fae King and ruler of Manshu. He is also a former White Phoenix of Manshu and Guardian."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"Wait, he was a guardian?"
[Twilight]
"Yes, which is why we hope he can help you figure out if you really are the next Twilight. If The Cult hasn't gotten to them yet, his family and him will be a great help."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"It won't be too hard for him too…"
[Temti]
[Ship gets attacked by a creature]
"What is that?"
[Twilight]
"Oh no, I was afraid of this. Sea dogs to your station, we've got a Kera attacking us."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
It was amazing to watch the Sea dogs and their captain at work. I'd never been off the island before so I didn't even know that creatures like the Kera existed, but everything happened in a blink of an eye. One moment the Sea Dogs were preparing their weapons, next thing I knew the Kera was dead.
"What happened?"
[Temti]
"I'm not sure. Ric, what happened?"
[Twilight]
"Well, you see most of me and my Sea Dogs have inherited a certain skill. It allows us to slow time down when needed."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"Slow down time?"
[Twilight]
"Yeah, we were taught by my late aunt, Adora, she was the former owner of this ship."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"...Did you say Adora?"
[Twilight, confused]
"Yes, why?"
[Ric - Ship Captain, confused]
"The Guardian Sloth Adora?"
[Twilight]
"Yes?"
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"Teach me that skill, right now! What's the name of it? Does it take a lot of essence? How long does it actually last?"
[Twilight, excitedly]
"Well first not many people can actually use the skill. Second, why are you asking so many questions about it?"
[Ric - Ship Captain]
"I actually defeated a Forsaken, she called herself Adora, and Anita told me she had that title."
[Twilight]
"Wait...so you defeated a Forsaken, that's pretty surprising for someone your age and if it's true I also want to thank you for freeing her soul."
[Ric - Ship Captain]
Ric and Twilight began to discuss more about the battle between him and the Guardian Sloth. Further going into detail on exactly how the skill worked, apparently, it was called Freeze. After a few more days they finally arrived at the shore of Manshu.
S.Y. 641, Agi 5 3:09 S.Q. - The Coast of Manshu Island
When we arrived at Manshu I couldn't believe what I saw. It was beautiful even from a distance, there was an area of land that seemed to be on fire as well as a giant lake. I was told they were the provinces Fithionia and Wathonia. When we landed on the shores of Withonia, the sand was like snow. We were actually greeted at the shore by a few of the Manshunians.
"Welcome, I'm glad you were able to make it safely. Anita sent a message that you were on your way. Unfortunately, it seems we might have an issue."
[Escort]
"As long as I'm able to see Kirpinicus, that's all that matters to me."
[Twilight]
"That's actually the issue..."
[Escort]
[The Escort began to explain a little bit about what has been happening on the island.]
"So Kirpinicus is dead?"
[Twilight]
"Yes, he was murdered due to his understanding of the guardians and his contempt for the Cult."
[Escort]
"What about his children?"
[Temti]
"From what I know they were not hurt but they have been locked away in the towers of each province. We should speak to the queen, Draina, she would know more."
[Escort]
The escort proceeded to take us to the camp in the nearby forest. Where the unbelievable happened, they had Kirithions, these ancient beasts known for their speed and agility. They told me they use them due to their elemental adaptive abilities. They would be taking me to the capital. Which I was a little confused about since I thought the Cult had control of the island.
So off we went, as we traveled down the shore the temperature got hotter and hotter. Until eventually, I could see it, there was lava, it was like a sea of lava. The trees were either dead or on fire, I was told as we turned northward that any further in our previous direction and we'd be entering Fithionia. Unfortunately, we weren't headed there but to the middle of the islands, Manshu Kingdom, the capital. When we arrived the escort guided me to Queen Draina, who was with a stranger.
"Greetings my queen, this is the boy sent to help us by Anita and Deago of Ardilla Island."
[Escort]
"Him? You've got to be kidding, he looks like he could barely defeat a Bluffy, let alone a Forsaken Guardian."
[Stranger]
"Hey, who do you think you're talking to?"
[Temti]
"It's fine Temti, he looks like an idiot anyway."
[Twilight]
"Idiot who do you think you are…"
[Stranger]
"Hush Liam, hello young one."
[Queen Draina, extending her hand to Twilight]
"Hello, your majesty."
[Twilight, shaking the Queen's hand]
"So have you really come to help?"
[Queen Draina]
"Yes, at least in any way possible."
[Twilight]
She then began to explain that she wanted my help in rescuing her children and hopefully helping to bring peace back to the kingdom. She introduced me to the rude stranger, she called Liam. He was the commander of The Knights of Manshu, to my surprise he wasn't that much older than me. Maybe by a year or two. He had calmed down a bit and reintroduced himself. Liam and I began to discuss how exactly we would save the heirs to the kingdom. Apparently we wouldn't be alone though, the rest of the Manshu Guardian Knights that we're able to survive would be supporting us.
