Jasmine Yale's heart skipped a beat, so that was it.
Talk about bad timing.
Her face showed discomfort and unease, very unnatural.
"Don't be nervous," the middle-aged man said with a smile, toying with the golf ball in his hand. "You've got CEO Heath covering for you, are you his new girlfriend? Haven't seen you before."
"No, just friends," Jasmine explained.
She wasn't used to making small talk with strangers, especially middle-aged ones.
They just couldn't connect.
She suddenly regretted coming up here alone.
"CEO Heath hasn't brought any women to play golf since he returned to the country last year, you're the first one. Seems like you two are quite close..." the man said with an implying smile.
Jasmine didn't like this kind of roundabout probing.
She smiled and pointed to a spot nearby: "Can I sit there? I prefer some peace and quiet."
Ever since she was young, Jasmine had never been good at dealing with people she didn't like.
